Chicken Restaurants near Wood Village

“Went to Happy Valley Food Station in search of tasty chicken strips- was not disappointed when we found Christina's Cartel. The chicken was juicy and delicious and the mac and cheese was amazing. However, I would have like some better starch options- the shoestring fries were soggy- a bit of a let-down. Would like to see more sauces too- but I did enjoy the ones that I had. Maybe a spicy ranch that would be great with chicken- although I was told, very proudly, I might add, that they have pretty much everything BUT ranch and ketchup. Don't know why the hate for ranch- but okay, lol. Will definitely be back (and maybe bring my own ranch?)“

“I've recently moved out to the east side of Portland where I have very little knowledge of the food cart and lunchtime scene. I was happy to stumble across the very unassuming Food Cart Heaven near Glisan and 157th (yes... you're still in Portland!)If you're looking for the hipster foodie vibe with corn hole and fire pits you won't find it at Food Cart Heaven. Instead, guests are treated to a very diverse and... um, functional setting complete with a household appliance vendor and lingerie modeling booth. Don't worry, this place is family-friendly, but you may be asked, "mommy, what is lingerie?"There are a variety of carts offering a broad selection of international cuisine. I've sampled Woody's Tacos (Delicious!) and both of the Mexican carts. Try the Aguas Frescas for only $2... the cantaloupe carrot is my favorite!Parking isn't great, in fact the configuration is a little awkward. The lingerie modeling spots are only valid for 15 minutes, so don't park in one of those clearly labeled spots mistakenly. There are several side streets where you might find additional parking as well.I'm very excited to try more carts here, so I'll definitely be coming back.“

“I went over to the KFC/A&W over on 101st and Sunnyside for lunch today. While enjoying my chicken and root beer float, a mentally challenged kid came in to get his usual. Two chili dogs. The manager, Jacob, came over and I heard him tell the kid that he didn’t do anything wrong but he wanted him to sit down for a minute, and then I heard him say the most amazing thing. He told the kid that he sees him come in there all the time and that he wanted to help him out. He told the kid straight out that next week he wants him to come in and they’re going to get him some pants, shirt, shoes and hat and get him started training for a job! the kid was so excited that he ran out and got his mom who was apparently in the car, I guess, yelling at the top of his lungs excitedly, “I got a job! I got a job!“” the mom came in, a little confused sounding, and introduced herself to Jacob and asked if what her son said was accurate. I think she was a little gob smacked by it. Personally, I thought it was beautiful, and even my friend was crying her eyes out. — feeling emotional with Linda La Plant at KFC. Ok“

“It is not easy being a food service worker. This location gets 5 stars because someone named Benito took our order and was very positive. I saw other guests being rude and Benito still smiled and was seriously so nice and calm....I'm not sure I would be able to take it. They are very lucky to have him. Food was ok. This is when Kimmie who was behind the counter saw that we had multiple items to take home and brought a takeout bag to our table with a warm smile, "here we go.," even though they were very busy.
