Dietary restrictions: I eat no flour or sugar and lots of vegetables. My husband is lactose free and gluten intolerant. He had the mussels (I tried one and it was amazing) and then beef kabobs. I had lamb kabobs with extra veggies. If we lived here we would be here all the time!!“

“If you are in a mood for a great barbecue experience look no further than al-baik. Everything was excellent the temperature of the meats, including lamb, beef kebab, chicken kebab lamb chops just a wonderful experience. If you’re in the neighborhood, you must try it.“

We each got a wrap: the “favalafel”, chicken schnitzel, and beef brisket, plus we got the spicy lamb hand pie and “bff” crispy potatoes to share. The favalafel was tasty although the person ordering it suggested they’ll add hummus next time for some extra binder. The schnitzel was also tasty although a bite or two was more on the spicy side than the rest due to a concentration of the spread there. The beef brisket was a real stand-out although a bit messy to eat because of the sauce. The spicy lamb had a nice crisp wrapper and was spicy as advertised. The crispy potatoes were fried to perfection and the zhoug-black garlic ketchup was a nice accompaniment. We will definitely be ordering from here again!“

“Went the other night for the first time for dinner. Service was excellent and friendly, and did a good job answering questions. We got an appetizer of the beets that was delicious. The short rib risotto was out of this world - tender, flavorful and absolutely delicious. The goat however was a big miss. Came out as a round rolled piece that seemed unfortunately overcooked and tough. I was expecting a braised goat closer to a braised short rib. The couple next to us had the same two dishes and I noticed they didn't enjoy the goat either. The creme brulee desert was also spectacular. The atmosphere gets 3 because on a cold night, and with the restaurant being as small and cramped as it is, anytime someone comes or goes there's freezing cold wind that blows in. I wish more restaurants here did what they do in NYC with the plastic vestibules in front of the doors to prevent that.“

And eat dessert first!At my sis' recommendation, I tried the stuffed grape leaf wrap - and it was delicious. “First time trying Hala Guys and loved it! Food was awesome and the customer service was OUTSTANDING. We were immediately greeted with a smile and great energy and left in a better mood than when we walked in. I was so impressed with how we were treated, I talked about it the whole ride home.

Back to the food: I ordered a sm beef platter - Rice, lettuce, tomatoes, a few onions and white sauce. They recommended I add a little bit of bbq sauce and just a line of hot sauce (I said I heard it was hot...it's hot, but delicious). So glad I listened cause the flavors mixed beautifully together!

Hubby loved his chicken & beef platter. Also said the bathroom was spotless.
