“Stopped here on a whim while visiting Pittsburgh for the weekend. We were looking to grab a coffee and pastry and found this place close to where we were headed. Let me tell you. I would come here every day!! Delicious. We had an almond croissant, hazelnut croissant and brought some bread home. Just slices the olive loaf. I cannot explain how delicious it is. Keep doing a great job. We will be back when we visit the city again!!“

“Crumbl left me feeling a little crumbled. I feel this place is more of an experience than anything else. Presentation is great, service was pleasantly standard, and the atmosphere felt Gucci. Their offerings are extremely sweet, sugar overload. Tasted as if there were too many unneeded ingredients. However, your mileage may vary if you’re into enamel tingling sweet. I did the experience, but am left with a lack of interest to return for more. Wouldn’t be a bad place to take a special someone or to grab a big order for a social event. Recommend for the experience and first timers.

We are eagerly looking forward to having Bella Christie at our next club event!“

“I often shop with them at the Market Square farmers market in downtown on Thursdays between 10am-2pm. I must say they have huge, soft, deliciously sweet and/or salty flavors. It’s truly great the staff are so helpful and efficient. They sell out fast but so far my favorite flavors are cereal killers, strawberry pretzel and the steel city cookie! They are so so good. Olivia normally cashes me out and she’s a doll! They offer 3/$8 that’s unbeatable for the size and great quality. The first time having them I was surprised. I’m officially a cookie girlie now.“

“Prantls has historically been my FAVORITE bakery in all of Pittsburgh. But prices have really gone up in recent years (almost doubling for my favorite items), and quality standards have gone down. The last 2 times I visited the North Side location, I received a stale cookie. A stale Prantls cookie is still pretty great, but I used to pay about $2 for a fresh iced cookie, and now it’s at least $4 and stale… 2 visits in a row! I visited on July 8th and saw old Fourth of July cookies with red frosting that had faded into the white frosting. I also ordered an Almond Torte bar (a take down of their famous cake, and something I’ve ordered many times). I mentioned that I get it every year on my anniversary because it’s what we had at our wedding. Today I received a chocolate version of the almond torte. It was quite a surprise when we unboxed it at home! Not what I asked for. I’m still giving them 4 stars because I know inflation sucks, the pandemic was hard on small businesses, and even stale or incorrectly ordered Prantls is still pretty tasty. But if you visit, maybe try out the Shadyside location?“

It also sells some gourmet foods from other businesses, some books, and some home decor.The baker-owner draws inspiration for her breads from books that she reads. The breads are available in several flavors and can be specially ordered. Each loaf of bread costs about several dollars.I purchased the following six breads: Milk Buds, Gentleman’s Black Bread, Roasted Garlic Bread, Chocolate Babka, Roasted Orange Martini Bread, and Pesto Italiano. These loaves were a good size, were freshly baked, and tasted very good.Please note that this bakery has limited hours, and it is located on the side of the professional building.“

Whoever decorated this cake did a fantastic job and I really felt they took the little bit of extra time to make it look special. “I would not expect to enjoy gluten-free bread, however, a chance encounter with Wild Rise’s Sourdough bread was a surprising epiphany. Toasted, with peanut butter or almond butter, and a little honey, it’s an incredible lunch. And I’m used to eating gluten rich breads, and meats for lunch. I can truly say the flavors and textures are as satisfying to me as what I normally eat for lunch… I am amazed! Give this stuff a try!“
