“We finally ordered!!!! Not sure what took us so long! This cafe is such a gem! The atmosphere is so cozy and so cute! Was greeted by such a sweet girl! You really get a feeling of home away from home here. We ordered scrambled egg bowls with sausage and bacon, cheese and on a bed of tater tots. Wow! Absolutely to die for!!! I am such a picky food snob. This place out ranks any diner! You guys rock!“

“My sweetheart and I went here on our second date. The original plan was to meet at Dead King Bread in Manyunk, and then hike in the Wissahickon. Dead King was closed, however, and my sweetheart quickly suggested Roma Cafe as an alternative. I'm ashamed to say that I never knew about this bakery. When I think of Italian bakeries, I typically think of South Philly. This is the real deal. An interior that harkens back to earlier times, and probably owners that harken back to an earlier time!

It was here that I discovered that my sweetheart is extravagant with treats, especially sweets. As a bit of a minimalst, I chose a rather bland biscuit. He chose an array of half a dozen treats, including canolies.

When we eventually made our way to the Wissahickon, we discovered that we had each packed more treats for the hike - cheese, grapes. He brought the most wonderful brie from Trader Joes that was as soft and gooey as if you had baked it in the oven. I noted with approval that he was equipped with a good picnic bag, as was I.

As we walked through the Wissahickon, I was captivated by his friendliness to everyone we passed on the trails, including the dogs.

Our family brought a variety for Easter dessert and they were the best cupcakes I have had in a very long time! Even better…they are PEANUT FREE!!!! This was the first time my son, 18 years old, had a cupcake from an actual bakery! That means the world to this mom!! I think he ate at least three!! Thank you so very much for your dedication to not only making amazing and delicious treats, but giving the peanut/nut free community a safe place to go to enjoy desserts. “I go there to buy the tomato pie. I never buy less than two boxes which is a quarter pie each with nine slices sprinkled with cheese. I never thought to take a picture. Maybe I will next time and I’ll update this. They make the most amazing tomato pie! I did purchase a piece of baklava from them yesterday. I can can’t speak to how it tasted, but it was beautiful as I gave it away.“

I go to the farmers markets specifically for this bread. Philadelphia has a number of great new small bakeries but Ursa is at the top!“

“I wanted to leave a review to both rave about your fantastic baked goods and to thank you. My Mom suffered with gluten intolerance and then celiacs. This took away her ability to enjoy some of her favorite foods. We tried to find substitutes at the local grocery stores but nothing really took the place of her favorite baked goods. Finding you was a miracle! She loved your cookies, bread and Pumpkin Pie!! She looked forward to me bringing home her favorites and surprises like your pretzels and cinnamon buns each week. She just passed away a couple weeks ago but the memories of her enjoying your delicious treats will give me a smile every time I think about those times. “Oh my goodness! We are from out of town and this bakery is just one block away from our Airbnb. Stopped by today and got the cheesesteak with sauce and onions, and the buffalo chicken cheesesteak just to try it out. It was absolutely delicious! We have one more day in Philadelphia and will be going by first thing tomorrow morning for a couple more before we leave. If you have not tried them out, you need to make it a priority. So so good!“
