“We enjoyed our meal at Thunderhead very much! The service was excellent and they were extremely accommodating. Everyone was smiling and even chatting with our 2 year old. The food came out promptly. I had the short ribs and they were delicious. Perfectly cooked. My husband had the burger and it looked amazing. The fries were to die for! Our dessert was made fresh and was the perfect end to our meal. Can’t wait to go back!“

“It’s my first time here. The place is nice, with unique decorations unlike a typical bar. The beer menu is displayed on the wall, and the cocktail menu is on paper. It’s small but cool. You’ll need to find street parking nearby. A great spot to grab a beer and try different flavors!“

“Fun restaurant with random nicknacks everywhere. Your eyes will wander around the whole time you are there. A cute dog is the official greater. The food was decent enough that I would come back while in town. The frozen party drinks served in over sized cups hit the spot. My daughter loved her pasta and chicken wings, the wife was happy with her salmon with baked potato, and I ordered the ribs and actually liked it better than the past few times I've ordered ribs at random establishments that offer it. Chocolate cake and berry pie were enjoyable. If busy the gentleman that was working there is definitely hustling and doing his best to keep up. So be patient. Enjoy.“

The only reason I was willing to leave Jim Thorpe was because I had a loaf of wonderful to take home and toast for breakfast Monday morning. Looking forward to our next visit to town even more now!“

“Started to become a regular at the Boatyard, avoided for along time because of a misrepresentation of the establishment from years past that just no longer should be considered. Let’s start with the staff and owners very professional, fun and caring they make you feel welcomed anytime you walk in. Honestly you can tell the staff are like family and you just feel like you’re apart of it when you’re here. The food portions and pricing is great not many places in the area can you get a portion where you feel you got your money worth the fact the pricing isn’t tremendous makes it more attractive. The quality of the food is great rotating specials lets you try new things which are always cooked right. You are missing out not trying the boatyard at least once.“

The service, preparation, care of the order, and, up to and including the delivery of our food make me value this West Penn Diner experience as worthwhile and I feel appreciated as a customer. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy and the diner is clean. It is also really worth noting that your omelettes are just the very best! There is nothing to add except another order to them. All the ingredients that are included on the plate equal perfection. I feel confident to write that I bet all the customers feel that with all of these orders of perfection being carried out from the kitchen I believe you have a deadly combination of satisfied, happy and grateful customers. “Went for early dinner. Bar with regulars, definitely needs revamp, old but clean. Jukebox too loud not overly crowded for 4 pm on a Friday. Food was good but a bit pricey, no frills. Bartender was our server, attentive and accommodating, nice.“

“We were on vacation nearby during Memorial weekend and passing Weissport. This was when we stumbled upon this cute little ice cream shop. The tables inside are chalkboards, great for kids and adults. There is also a piano that people can play some impromptu tunes. We liked it.“

“We ate dinner in the cafe and had a wonderful meal. Our appetizer was the chips with gorgonzola cheese, tomatoes, arugula and balsamic glaze. Wow! I had the chicken, artichoke, pesto, penne and my husband had the forbidden rice, shrimp and bok choy dish. Both were absolutely amazing. Compliments to the chef. Our waitress was great! We live 45 minutes away but that won't stop us from returning for another fabulous meal.“

“Really nice sports bar located on top of a mountain. I've had takeout here a few times in passing and decided to eat in finally. Food is really good, but every time I'm there, no music is playing or the tv's are muted. It's kind of of awkward. You could hear a pin drop. Maybe I'm just used to sports bars being loud. Its so quiet you can hear people whispering. This place has a 5/5 vibe, food and wings are slammin', but unmute the tv's or play some music please!“

“Great spot, with a huge all-weather deck; we had to eat on the sidewalk at one of 3 tables because we had the dog with us. A hot day in March brought ALL the people out so it was busy as heck at 3:00 pm. The big pluses were meeting the owners which were so amazingly friendly, and our server was sweet as apple pie. Good solid pub/bar food and a fun atmosphere. Cozy little bar. Fish & chips and Reuben were very nice.“
