“Out of all the eateries in the greater Slatington area, SMT has got to be the highest of my recommendations. the place is absolutely fantastic, in both food and service. Not only is it a rustic bar complete with trivia nights and a pool table, but everything is delicious and always served with the highest priority of the customer's requests. The service is perfect, as well. always friendly and accommodating. they all periodically check up on tables, they're known to stop for a quick chat without ignoring their other patrons, and they're completely genuine. For those going, I recommend asking for Kerri. I've had several servers over my visits, all are great, but Kerri has simply been the best. It's at a point where I dont even have to order because she knows exactly what im getting. It's clear she puts her customers first, and it shows. overall, an excellent establishment.“

“This is your basic small down historical diner I’ve eaten at since I was a toddler (68) years ago. Food is good, small town talk is great but no inside toilets and never has. It adds to the charm I feel. Ate there every day in high school, now we go for breakfast and lunches.

“We stopped by with our friends after a day of snow tubing! We didn’t have reservation but they accommodated us! They have an amazing kids menu! They treated our kids so well! We got Christmas flights and pizza! The food and drinks were amazing.
In the end, they got icecream for our kids and they even got lollipops!! We got Ice-cream lava cake and it was amazing! Would recommend this place! The owner, food and staff is amazing!“

“Made a reservation for 3:30 before going to see rod stewart at the ppl center in allentown. We got there 2:45 and they did seat us early which was very nice of the hostess to do so. The place was packed and now I know why. It was our first time eating at the thirsty tavern and it won't be the last!
Our waitress was nick and she was awesome! She helped me choose my dinner from three choices I asked her about and her recommendation was spot on! I had the fish tacos which came with a side of black beans and a,side of cilantro lime rice and let me tell you it was soooo goood! The whole dish was so flavorful omg! I also had the white sangria and that was so good as well!
My husband had the blackened shrimp wrap which came with a side of fries.
His meal was really good too.
We had the peach tavern wings as an appetizer and they too were soo good!
Nick was also very attentive to our table which was much appreciated and a very nice girl.
You have to stop by and try this place you will be happy you did!
Make sure you ask to be seated in nicks area as she's the best!

“Went here for dinner last weekend with a couple friends and overall it was a solid experience. The place had a relaxed vibe, nothing fancy but comfortable enough to sit and talk without feeling rushed. Food came out in a reasonable time and everything was fresh and warm. I ordered a classic entrée and it tasted just like you’d expect, not overdone and not bland either. Portions were fair for the price. Our server was polite and checked in a few times but didn’t hover, which I appreciated.“

“It’s my first time here. The place is nice, with unique decorations unlike a typical bar. The beer menu is displayed on the wall, and the cocktail menu is on paper. It’s small but cool. You’ll need to find street parking nearby. A great spot to grab a beer and try different flavors!“
