“The bar at Kempton Hotel was one of our favorite stops on our road trip from San Diego, CA, to Calais, Maine. The service was excellent, and they all made us feel welcome. The food was delicious - BBQ pork fries, Dutch fries, and steamed clams. Best of all, the patrons were a fun crowd. If you are in the area, I highly recommend you visit them.“

“Excellent food! Never disappointed. It’s our favorite place. If you’ve never been there, you must go you do not have to be a member to dine and FYI, they have the best French onion soup you’ve ever tasted“

“Fun place to grab appetizers and a drink or dinner & a drink or two. We had an app and dinner. Cheesesteak eggs rolls as an appetizer. We were told they are made in house - not frozen - and we could tell! Deliciously thin crispy shell stuffed with tender beef, onions and a little cheese served with a spicy dipping sauce. A terrific starter!!! I had the Elote Salad and my hubbers had the turkey burnt ends BLT. Both were really tasty! We were both very happy with our meals!

Seating is ALL bar seating on backless stools. Not super comfy but we also weren’t spending the night so it was fine for us - just mentioning so you are aware in case there are people in your party who might not appreciate this seating style for a meal.

We would recommend Notch Eight for a very good meal and drinks!“

“Fun restaurant with random nicknacks everywhere. Your eyes will wander around the whole time you are there. A cute dog is the official greater. The food was decent enough that I would come back while in town. The frozen party drinks served in over sized cups hit the spot. My daughter loved her pasta and chicken wings, the wife was happy with her salmon with baked potato, and I ordered the ribs and actually liked it better than the past few times I've ordered ribs at random establishments that offer it. Chocolate cake and berry pie were enjoyable. If busy the gentleman that was working there is definitely hustling and doing his best to keep up. So be patient. Enjoy.“

The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy and the diner is clean. It is also really worth noting that your omelettes are just the very best! There is nothing to add except another order to them. All the ingredients that are included on the plate equal perfection. Food is really good, but every time I'm there, no music is playing or the tv's are muted. It's kind of of awkward. You could hear a pin drop. Maybe I'm just used to sports bars being loud. Its so quiet you can hear people whispering. This place has a 5/5 vibe, food and wings are slammin', but unmute the tv's or play some music please!“
