“It’s my first time here. The place is nice, with unique decorations unlike a typical bar. The beer menu is displayed on the wall, and the cocktail menu is on paper. It’s small but cool. You’ll need to find street parking nearby. A great spot to grab a beer and try different flavors!“

“Started to become a regular at the Boatyard, avoided for along time because of a misrepresentation of the establishment from years past that just no longer should be considered. Let’s start with the staff and owners very professional, fun and caring they make you feel welcomed anytime you walk in. Honestly you can tell the staff are like family and you just feel like you’re apart of it when you’re here. The food portions and pricing is great not many places in the area can you get a portion where you feel you got your money worth the fact the pricing isn’t tremendous makes it more attractive. The quality of the food is great rotating specials lets you try new things which are always cooked right. You are missing out not trying the boatyard at least once.“

The service, preparation, care of the order, and, up to and including the delivery of our food make me value this West Penn Diner experience as worthwhile and I feel appreciated as a customer. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy and the diner is clean. It is also really worth noting that your omelettes are just the very best! There is nothing to add except another order to them. All the ingredients that are included on the plate equal perfection. I feel confident to write that I bet all the customers feel that with all of these orders of perfection being carried out from the kitchen I believe you have a deadly combination of satisfied, happy and grateful customers. Not only accommodating to what i wanted but also gave me pointers of things to see and do in the area. I will be back and hopefully she will be the person serving me again“

“We ate dinner in the cafe and had a wonderful meal. Our appetizer was the chips with gorgonzola cheese, tomatoes, arugula and balsamic glaze. Wow! I had the chicken, artichoke, pesto, penne and my husband had the forbidden rice, shrimp and bok choy dish. Both were absolutely amazing. Compliments to the chef. Our waitress was great! We live 45 minutes away but that won't stop us from returning for another fabulous meal.“

“The Beacon is struggling to maintain adequate staffing but that has only impacted slightly the time from order to service. Our experience has always been excellent Diner selections with friendly, competent service. It is never microwaved frozen goods from US Foods or Sisco. Much of the menu is homemade comfort food like pork with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes/ gravy. All of the items are better than competitively priced. I used to be a chef and though 71 years old, I wish I could help when I see their 'Cook Wanted' sign but I live 15 miles away and can only help by dining there a couple times per week.
