“My friends and I found The Wabash by accident,, we were chasing the Reading & Northern 2102 last Saturday Oct 25th 2025.. We were looking for a place for lunch and a few beers.. The food was good and prices were right,, and I got the last bowl of French Onion soup.. The woman behind bar was very nice to talk to,, putting up with us,, the Train guys... Next time we are in Tamaqua,, we will stop at The Wabash,,... Pat from Massachusetts...“

I'm the Chef at the Fountain Springs Country Inn & was the Chef at the Gallery Restaurant in Pottsville for many years I'm also the owner of Pop's Original Screamer's in Ashland. The service, preparation, care of the order, and, up to and including the delivery of our food make me value this West Penn Diner experience as worthwhile and I feel appreciated as a customer. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy and the diner is clean. It is also really worth noting that your omelettes are just the very best! There is nothing to add except another order to them. All the ingredients that are included on the plate equal perfection. I feel confident to write that I bet all the customers feel that with all of these orders of perfection being carried out from the kitchen I believe you have a deadly combination of satisfied, happy and grateful customers. “We eat at Deer Lake Pub almost every Friday, and it’s honestly our go-to spot. Everyone there is so friendly and personable and always makes us feel welcome. The food is consistently great, the drinks are delicious, and the whole place just feels comfortable and easy. Deer Lake Pub is hands down my favorite restaurant in all of Schuylkill County.“

“I picked this place for something different, we normally go to steak hose for birthdays. I'm so glad I did, our server, Riah and bartender Aaron were fantastic. we had so much fun playing slings, will be back for sure.“

“Had dinner here. Menu was very large. They could reduce it and specialize in thing better. Dozen claims for $14. Problem is they were a little too large making them difficult to chew. Side salad was not just iceberg lettuce which was nice. Cuban panini could have had more meat. $.50 for extra pickle chips. Soft pretzels were very good. As was the spaghetti/meatballs & fish sandwich.“

“Showed up in the last hour they were open for the day and made to be felt welcome. There were plenty of other folks in the place and more arrived after we did, but the staff were great even though obviously feeling a bit tired after having an extra long day the night before. The food was very good and reasonably priced.
Though I did feel the chipped beef was missing meat, it seemed to be more sauce, but that may have been due to being the end of the day. The biscuits and gravy were very good. The seasoning was wonderful... Too often the gravy is too heavy on pepper to mask other flavors, but that was not the case this time.

Overall, everything else was quite good and I look forward to trying more options on future visits.“

“The food was amazing as always but our waitress was terrible. we had to wait 15 minutes just for our beverages, had to wave down another waitress to let her know. at the end of our dining, the girl we had to wave down, got a better tip than our original waitress.“

“Working out of town and stopped here for dinner. Ended up going back almost every night we were up there because the food was so good. Tried a bunch of different entrees and wasn't disappointed with anything. Staff was awesome as well and the wait was short. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.“
