“Took my Family there for my first time there for dinner last night. I'm the Chef at the Fountain Springs Country Inn & was the Chef at the Gallery Restaurant in Pottsville for many years I'm also the owner of Pop's Original Screamer's in Ashland. I would just like to say the food was outstanding & our server was exceptional (top notch). Highly recommend the Brick house 5 stars. thanks for a great evening.“

“We eat at Deer Lake Pub almost every Friday, and it’s honestly our go-to spot. Everyone there is so friendly and personable and always makes us feel welcome. The food is consistently great, the drinks are delicious, and the whole place just feels comfortable and easy. Deer Lake Pub is hands down my favorite restaurant in all of Schuylkill County.“

“Showed up in the last hour they were open for the day and made to be felt welcome. There were plenty of other folks in the place and more arrived after we did, but the staff were great even though obviously feeling a bit tired after having an extra long day the night before. The food was very good and reasonably priced.
Though I did feel the chipped beef was missing meat, it seemed to be more sauce, but that may have been due to being the end of the day. The biscuits and gravy were very good. The seasoning was wonderful... Too often the gravy is too heavy on pepper to mask other flavors, but that was not the case this time.

Overall, everything else was quite good and I look forward to trying more options on future visits.“

“If I could give tonight’s experience 20 stars I would. Eileen was an absolutely incredible service provider and on her a game all night. The food was absolutely delicious and so beautifully prepared. The drinks were exquisite and like the salad, ice cold the way you dream of. The meal was piping hot. That never happens.

“My friends and I found The Wabash by accident,, we were chasing the Reading & Northern 2102 last Saturday Oct 25th 2025.. We were looking for a place for lunch and a few beers.. The food was good and prices were right,, and I got the last bowl of French Onion soup.. The woman behind bar was very nice to talk to,, putting up with us,, the Train guys... Staff extremely accommodating with switching our original corner table for an available center table, to making sure to double check with the kitchen on any allergy concerns. Their meat purveyor is very good, high quality beef. Chef cooked to exact specifications with lovely fat rendering; good flavor profiles. Highly recommend. Will be returning soon.“

“Me and my husband have lived in Frackville for a year now and we just recently were able to get to Romans ! And being a Baltimore / Maryland transplant I have to give a review on the crab cakes. When I say I’ve had many I’ve had many over my 33 years and Romans has bar none the best I’ve had not only outside of Maryland but is a close tie with the best in Maryland ! There steak was to die for as well me and my husband has a lovely valentines night there staff was super friendly and food let’s just say my husband is now required to take me there minimum once a month ! “OMG, our plan was just to stop in for coffee. We ended up having breakfast for dinner, sharing a big piece of cake, AND having 2 cups coffee, while enjoying fun conversation with Annie and her daughter. We'll ABSOLUTELY be coming back here! The atmosphere was completely welcoming, the food was hot, fast and tasty (eggs jist how I love them) and the coffee was hot and FRESH! (A new pot of regular was brewed up when we ordered. This place is a gem! There's some community boards advertising fun local activities- plays, bazaars, fairs, etc.
We saw one of the specials being served, and there was a full cob of corn delivered with it. I bet it was local and fresh, as someone was advertising selling corn by the dozen on a sign. Loved this diner!

“Cool little old school bar. Cheap drinks. Never ate the food but it looks good. Decent pool table. Bartenders and clientele are friendly. Smoking is permitted which is a big plus for me in the winter especially.“

“Had dinner here. Menu was very large. They could reduce it and specialize in thing better. Dozen claims for $14. Problem is they were a little too large making them difficult to chew. Side salad was not just iceberg lettuce which was nice. Cuban panini could have had more meat. $.50 for extra pickle chips. Soft pretzels were very good. As was the spaghetti/meatballs & fish sandwich.“

“Went to Millie's Kitchen at the Uptown Tavern last night, 11/16/2020. It is a "Hole in the Wall) type place. Very casual place: plastic utensils, paper towels for napkins, etc. The food was excellent. The portions were huge. Many items to choose from. The bar keep was very engaging. I had the mini tacos as an appetizer with the boneless chicken wings w/sweet bar-b-que sauce and a chocolate martini. I'm still eating the wings today. Frank had the beef cheese steak sandwich w/hot sauce and he loved the taste and texture of the meat. we will be going back again SOON“
