“I’ve walked by this spot so many times, and it seemed every time I was hungry they were closed (closed on weekends) but today I finally stepped in. I ordered 2 bánh mìs and a Vietnamese coffee. Pete, the owner/operator of the spot was the only one there and we instantly jumped into great conversation about the music scene in Philly back in the late 90s. We ended up knowing a lot of the same people. Philly is a tight knit group. So even before eating the food I was already a fan of this spot. Pete served me his special take on Vietnamese coffee while we talked and he made the sandwiches. The iced coffee was excellent, but different and less sweet than Vietnamese coffee I’ve had in the past. He also used ice cubes made of coffee which was an added bonus for a coffee junkie like myself. After we talked for nearly 20 min, I walked home with my sandwich and WOW! Such a solid bánh mì! I told him to make it like he would make it for himself (spicy) and he knocked it out of the park. I’ll be back and I’ll be bringing all my music friends here when they are in the neighborhood. I highly encourage Olde City residents as well as Philly locals to give this place a try!“

“I never write reviews but I ordered a gumbo from this restaurant that made me sit up straight in my chair and my hairs stand on end. Maybe the best gumbo I've ever had, counting multiple visits to New Orleans. I've had their shrimp and barbecue and everything is great. Folks working there are friendly as well. I don't know why there isn't a line out the door every day. The food is legit.“

“I got some bone-in wings with Cajun Dry Rub and Medium Buffalo Sauce and they were really good! The wings were good size, juicy, and the rub/sauce on them were both very good. I also got fries that were cooked perfectly and tasted very good. The customer service is excellent, the owner is a really nice guy, and enjoyable to speak to. The prices are very fair. I just had the 6inch chicken cutlet with peppers and provolone w/ fries and soda. I can't believe I haven't tried them before now! The chicken was breaded nicely, you can see the cheese and it was very filling! I only ate half because there were three pieces of chicken on a toasted roll. The wait was no longer than any other truck that cooks to order. The ONLY thing that this sandwich was missing was a sauce. Add marinara or spaghetti sauce and maybe cooked onions and this sandwich would be 10/10. Without the sauce...I'd give it a 9/10! The service was very nice as well!“
