“We were visiting Newark for a furry convention nearby and my partner and I got stuck in a random hailstorm on our way to Chipotle down the street. We took cover in Home Grown and found out it's got a large selection of vegan selections, which was a surprise! We took the opportunity for a date and our server, Dana, was wonderful. They introduced us to the restaurant and gave us an overview of the menu, specials, and their favorite drink. We ended up ordering the Maple Barbecue seitan wings, the casserole style loaded fries, the seitan birria tacos, the winter mac, and Dana's favorite drink, the Bird by Bird. The drink was amazing and a perfect choice with all of the food being incredible. I wish there was one near where we live. What an absolutely wonderful date.“

“Administrative details - While you usually must make a reservation a year in advance (which I did), there are a very few earlier spots available on their website. In addition, if you are on the email list, they send the occasional last-minute availability. Talula’s is BYOB. The price was $125 and with all the other things, taxes, gratuities, it came to $160. The Nook Table is available for 6-8 diners and the Farm Table is for larger parties. Website link is below. Everything is presented in “tasting” small portions. In addition to the menu, they provided a couple of additional offerings. I did not do a good job of capturing the delightful descriptions of the food provided by our server. (The next time I go, I will video the descriptions if they allow.) The group did a great job of bringing wine which was beautifully poured in appropriate glassware by our server. The server also paired the wine with the offerings for us! The service was exceptional without being pretentious. After each tasting, plates, utensils and glasses were cleared and refurbished so discreetly that you hardly noticed. The menu changes with the “farm to table” availability. My favorite was a squash tarte. [I was delighted to find that I did not like the foie gras. It is “made” in a most inhumane and horrible way. This is the only time I have eaten it and I will never eat it again.] I was sorry to find that by the Black Garlic Beef Ribeye (#6 on the list), I was getting to the point of “too much food.” The only downsides were “too much food” for most of us and the wines they suggested for the pairings were hard/impossible to find. I personally did not like the varieties of wines they suggested for pairings. The rest of the party enjoyed the comparable wines they were able to find and allowed the server to pair with the tastings. I will be making a reservation for next year very soon. I have already made a reservation for the “sister” Talula’s Garden in Philly for September.“

“Babes and I went here this past Friday for the Beef Wellington. They offer it as a special only on the fourth week of the month. Let’s just say it did not disappoint. Exactly what you would want it to be. Melt in your mouth, no real knife needed ?.
Also had the Brussels sprouts- fried hard. Yum. Crispy in every single layer with a nice kick of maple!
We sat out on the patio, our server was a joy. She had a great personality- wish I could remember her name to shout her out.
My only true complaint is the obnoxious table beside us that had no table manners. Belching left and right, cackling the whole time. Clearly they had too much fun and forgot about their surroundings. Patio was just not this kind of atmosphere. Had they been in the bar/at the bar it would have been more understandable.
Nonetheless, the Brussels sprouts and the Wellington is a must try! They also had one of babes favorite beer!“

“The manager was extremely kind and helpful. We arrived very late and the kitchen was closed but he offered us a few pizza options and we were more than grateful!! Pizza was delicious and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu and really appreciate how customer friendly everyone was.“

“Every time someone asks me for a restaurant recommendation at Christiana Mall I always mention Nordstrom and somehow it still always comes as a surprise. I've loved every visit here, and the absolute best is sitting at the "bar" that overlooks the kitchen and getting to watch the chefs cook. They're all so efficient, calm, talented, and I honestly just have such a great time watching them that I'm generally a poor date when I'm there!
The food is also fantastic, super fresh, tasty, with some really fantastic appetizers. The sandwiches are also some of the best constructed sandwiches I've ever had, which sounds weird to think about, but once you've had one you'll see what I mean.“

“They were very busy, and the waitress let us know that, and that was absolutely fine. The food was some of the most bland I've ever had at a restaurant. My sister had to add salt, SALT, to her roasted beet salad because it was so lacking in flavor. The roasted pears weren't even cooked all the way, the pistachios on it were overcooked, the Brie was thin and mostly the outside shell with very little taste, and the bread slices were completely burned. The crab cake on the sandwich was tiny, and ice cold in the middle. The turkey apple grilled cheese was not even cooked all the way. The turkey and apple were as cold as ice, and the cheese wasn't even melted. I sent it back to be cooked better, and it came back the exact same temperature. I asked to speak to a manager, and they just took my meal off the bill and didn't even offer to compensate or do it better. The chef is a lazy person and needs to be put in line. someone call in Gordon Ramsay please!“

“2FG knocked it out of the park for our daughter's wedding! Jeff made the planning phase and menu selection easy, he took the time to make a visit required to the venue, and made sure all of our guests had a great dinner within our budget. There was something for everyone to enjoy. Our guests especially raved about the brisket! We will absolutely use them again for future events 🌟“

“I went with my group on a Thursday which was a very light evening which allowed my group to enjoy our whole dining experience. Our server had time to explain the menu and make recommendation to our group that included a 4 year old. Why is this relevant? Because, she gave her the same respectful service as she did the adults. Thank you. Now let's get to the food. I had the Chicken Picatta. I had to take the picture because at the first bite I new it was about to be destroyed. I left nothing on the plate. The Impossible Sloppy for those who need a vegan option also got a thumbs up. The food comes out hot hot! No one complained! I will be back the next time I am in Delaware.“

“A great venue, not far from the UD campus right on the river. Good food at decent prices. Their upstairs venue space is awesome. We are there monthly for the Vanguard Event and they go out of their way with custom drinks and great service. 10/10 would recommend!“
