“It has been a long while since I have been so driven as to write a review for a Hawley restaurant. The place speaks for itself.... for a restaurant with very little parking , you will find it FULL with reservations required. We have eaten there several times on a Thursday night during the early bird special menu and I highly recommend it . On a scale of 1-10 I give them a 14. I was referred to the Ridge and have in turn referred many others. A smaller , very comfortable place with 100 year old victorian architecture and some of the best food and broad selection of entrees that I have experienced anywhere in a long time.”

“My son and daughter-in-law had their engagement party at La Cigogne and it was truly a wonderful experience. The ambiance was warm and elegant, making it a perfect setting for such a special occasion. The staff was incredibly attentive, professional and genuinely kind throughout the entire event. Our guests are raving about the fun time they had. The food was delicious; and our guests had a variety of dietary needs, and the restaurant accommodated everyone. We are so grateful to Damien and the entire team at La Cignone for helping make their celebration so memorable. “I am hoping there has been a mistake with my order. If not, it seems the cook may not be able to distinguish between pho and hu tieu. The pho lacks the characteristic flavors; there is no hoisin sauce, lemon, basil or mint leaves. Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews, we all decided to order pho. We sincerely hope the other dishes are not similar..”

“Made an early afternoon pit stop on our road trip back home from Livingston Manor after hearing some locals sound the siren at the Cidery near Callicoon. Your appetite will be reduced to rubble at this tapas-style 'backcountry bar' (as per Men's Journal), but there's not enough water in the Delaware to put out the blaze of innovation lit by these backwoods libations, fresh herbs and fruit abound.

I would call it a secondary-road speakeasy, with creative and well-executed cocktails that pair nicely with all the food options from the equally-balanced menu. Being an old firehouse, you'll want to cozy up with the love of a lifetime in the equally rustic couches that surround the indoor fireplace. The bartender is perched behind bottles of tinctures that scream alchemy, and they have plenty of freezer and takeout options for another night.

To stoke our own embers, we went with the white bean bruschetta, pickled veggies, hasselback potato, Cuban corn, and the Butcher's bacon. Top-notch ingredients, well-seasoned and thoughtfully prepared, we'd order each item again, if there weren't so many great choices to go back for. Awesome spot!”

“My husband and I went to Be Kind Bake House this morning and met the lovely owner, Casey. I had an orang cardamom roll, it was Devine. He had a yummy brownie. We each wound up getting something to take home, and Casey was so kind to let us try the garlic chocolate chip cookies, which were really delicious! Definitely recommend checking it out and grabbing some goodies, you won’t be disappointed!”

“We came here 2 days in a row in February 2026 during some super frigid weather. We were staying in the area for a long weekend getaway. We were super happy that they are indoor dog friendly (well behaved/ leashed dogs only! ) The beer was great. I loved Tommy Boy Farmhouse Ale and Amber Waves Amber Ale. We ended up buying a 4 pack of each to bring home with us. I was so pleasantly surprised by their BBQ offerings. It is very easy to mess up BBQ, but this BBQ was so wonderfully prepared. I have been to so many breweries and BBQ joints that serve dried out, over-sauced meat. The offerings from Smok'd were all excellent. During our first visit we ordered the brisket sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. The brisket was super juicy and tender. The pulled pork was also juicy and tender. They offered BBQ sauce on the side if we wanted. During our second visit, we sat in the vault. This brewery is in a location that was formerly a bank. The vault was a nice secluded spot. We ordered the ribs and brisket with street corn salad, mac and cheese, and beans. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the brisket had a beautiful smoke ring. The mac and cheese was super creamy and had a wonderful taste of childhood. It was perfect for a day that had a -23F windchill. Overall, great beer, great food, and great staff. We really enjoyed our time here. I love a great dog friendly brewery! We will definitely return when in the area!”
