“Love this place! The space is amazing with huge outdoor/indoor seating and nice big circular bar. They have a great variety of styles - all were great. You can try a bunch of 10oz pours or stick with 16oz. Their merch is really nice too! I can see myself coming here again and again; definitely one of the more notable Pittsburgh breweries.“

“I never knew this place existed and happened to come in after tasting their Red Ale at a local restaurant. Wow! We sampled 4 beers, had a couple of pints, and was astonished at the quality of the beer. Why haven't we heard of Fire Whistle before?! We will be back. Do yourself a favor and try their beers... all right here, under-the-radar, and basically un-recognized in Elizabeth!“

“It is easy to miss but in the cultural eclectic North Side it is a great place to hang out. With complimentary pool tables and darts and a nice mix of eclectic beers and rustic simple tables it is the epitome of laid-back cool! Whether you're here with family or friends and want to kick back for a couple of hours, I can't imagine you'd find a better place in Pittsburgh to do it. And though we didn't indulge ,from what I saw the food looked like it would be very good also!“

“We hosted an adult's birthday party here and it couldn't have been better. I worked with Dominic on the party details and he was super accommodating and flexible. Very great experience! The taproom is super cool and a fun space. Our children were entertained by the games and outdoor space which made the day even better.

I think the prices are very reasonable too.

All in all I highly highly recommend Costar for events or just hanging out and having a beer.“

“Among my favorite breweries in Pittsburgh, and a great addition to the growing brew-culture in Verona / Oakmont area. They are unafraid to experiment with bold, delicious, and unique flavor profiles (I'm looking at you, Sichuan Peppercorn Rice Lager), but have all the staples across the spectrum of types of beer.

Great spot for a quiet hang, great beer, and friendly staff and patrons. Perfect addition to downtown Verona.“

“Pretty crazy backstory, but I had never been here before and my aunt won a contest to have a beer created and named after her rabbit.

We had a fairly large group there on release day, and the service was friendly and awesome.

I was particularly fond of their steel city lager, but the custom beer they made for my aunt was actually quite good. It was a cran-apple lager (which usually isn't my thing) but this one was quite drinkable.

The set-up in the back was quite picturesque. We were there in Mid-November, but I still found myself outside quite a bit enjoying the river views.

They had a partnership with a Kazak-guy in the kitchen who was another very nice fellow. I got his chicken parm sandwhich and it was 5 stars in itself. He came out and talked to us - Do not sleep on the food here.

I'm usually never in Verona, but this place in itself is a great reason to come back. It was a great day.“

“Awesome spot not far from the strip district, yet far more quiet and featuring quite vast amount of space both indoors and outside.

Brewery often has a food truck, but is walking distance from other food options if you want something from a different menu.

Beers are great, and I would say rival and best some across the river from Dancing Gnome. I am a fan of a NEIPA and their options feature a greatly hazy and full of flavor profile.

This brewery also mails the classics such as their malty Maibock and refreshing Kölsch!

Toi ensured that my food came out correctly and didn’t make it seem like I was asking for too much (unlike serves in the past)! Now that’s GREAT service! I had the “The Strip” burger 🍔 with BBQ sauce instead of Ranch and Rosemary fries 🍟 and it was probably one of the best burgers and fries I’ve had in a very long time.
