“Food was great. There was a bit of a delay waiting for the food. but the gentleman at the front desk was incredibly accommodating and really helped me during the ordering process. It got really busy in there and he handled everything really well, especially impatient customers! What a gentleman!“
“I stumbled upon this great spot that serves an amazing Chilli Paneer Pizza – it's really something with its spicy kick and cheesy goodness. And the Achari Chicken Wings? They're a perfect match with the pizza. Topped off with a Limca, it makes for a fantastic meal. Highly recommend giving it a try if you're up for something new!“
“This place has been on my list for some time and I was fortunate to visit at a downtime. Amongst a city full of pizza shops, Down North stands out among the greats. ENVIRONMENT The restaurant is relatively easy to find and seats no more than 5 or so people in the shop. The wait was a tad excessive which I credited to the food being "made with love". FOOD I love a good piece of focaccia! Another contributor commented that their pizza can be likened to focaccia which I would find to be incredibly accurate. The "Detroit" style was incredibly flavorful accompanied by a heaping of toppings(I settled on the "I'm A Boss"). I will admit the fries left a bit much to be desired but not enough to influence my rating. If you're based anywhere in North Philly between Farimount and Erie Ave, I can confidently say Down North is among the top three picks for the area. Happy eating!“
“Better than “Asad’s Hot Chicken” hands down baaabbbyyyyyy!!!!!!!! The sandwich is heavy when you pick it up too! The flavor is everything, and the coleslaw on the chicken sandwich is fire. Now I dnt even like but the one this place makes is great. Only thing I would say, is to use purple cabbage instead of green for a little variety of color in the sandwich, and to add a little more acidity into the coleslaw as well but you still get that acid from the huge pickles on the sandwich anyway. The fries are exceptionally seasoned, unlike Asad’s fries, which are plain. Their dipping sauce is really good it’s nice and sweet. Which pair is very well with the spiciness of the chicken and fries. The chicken is very moist. Just melts in your mouth lol. they use brioche buns for the chicken sandwiches, which are a very nice fluffy and flavorful bread. Everything about this fried chicken branch is above and beyond. I will be coming back again to try their honey hot wings!!! This place even have chicken tacos. I highly recommend this to anyone living in Philadelphia. Especially those Asad’s Hot Chicken lovers. Yall don’t know what y’all are missing!“
“I had my 21st birthday party at the Bayou and every single person had an amazing time! The staff is so friendly and was so communicative, really making me feel special and ensuring that the experience was great. The pricing was very affordable and If you are considering doing an event here I would 1000% recommend it! Me and my friends enjoyed ourselves so much we want to do another event there soon :).“
“If your looking for a real Philly Cheese Steak, look no further! I was at Bubba's just the other day. The cheese steak was out of this world and just when i thought my taste buds were done i ordered one of there "Fruity Pebble" milk shakes that was a home run! Highly recommended, a must try!“
“Tiny “Hometown“ type bar. Everyone was very friendly. We had a cheesesteak, which was very good, and got to put pins in the map to show how far we traveled. Drinks were generous and atmosphere was very fun. We were there on a night when they were playing bingo. It was free and a very fun addition to the night. Only complaint is the smoking. I’m sure this is some kind of last resort for smokers, and they probably love it, but I could do without going back to my hotel smelling like a dirty ashtray after having a drink and a sandwich.Parking: Parking lot is tiny and only accommodates a few cars. street parking is hard to find. This place is at the intersection of a few streets, but there is one of the roads that has free parking across the busy intersection.“
“Great place for Korean style chicken wings and sauces! Friendly and fast, but not too fast, service. This made the food real good, tender and juicy! Not dried out! Sauce was sweet, garlicky and spicy all at one go! Loved it! ? couldn't stop eating!“
“The chicken was phenomenal! I had the chicken sandwich and french fries and my boyfriend had the platter and Babas fries. The chicken was so crispy and flavorful on the outside and the inside was juicy perfectly cooked. Buns tasted fresh. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be going back.“
“Visiting from LA and wanted to get my hands on my first Philly Cheesesteak... from Philadelphia. This place was fantastic. The balsamic brie cheesesteak was amazing. Staff is super friendly and the dine in area is my kind of vibe. Great food. Thanks for setting the tone for my Philly experience.“
“Honestly, I wasn’t even planning on writing a review, since I wasn’t expecting much. But the Cheesesteak blew me away. The steak was delicious and the cheese was hot and fresh. Service was quick too. Overall, this place gets five stars for shocking me.“
“If you have to order just one thing here, definitely get the MASALA CHEESESTEAK! I get it every few weeks, and it's so delicious that I make sure everyone who visits me from out of town tries it. Make sure to ask for it EXTRA SPICY, loaded with peppers, onions, mayo, etc.A true hidden gem, where you can get both late night fast food as well as amazing South Asian cuisine.Service is always quick, and Usman is always very friendly! It's a perfect spot for a late night bite.“
“You won’t find better food. Worth any amount of travel and the people are amazing. Very kind staff, the sauce is ACTUALLY GOOD! It’s not just a mix of mayo and ketchup or hot sauce. The heat scale is accurate and it’s very filling. The painting on the inside is really cool as well. Definitely check it out.“
“Service is good just a little slow and I mean a LITTLE. Atmosphere is ok...like any other store you have to have for your food at. It's definitely clean inside. As far as the food...not a HUGE fan of the fried wings but the breaded hot wings are FIRE! And I also have become addicted to the well done chicken and rice with the salad. Extra white sauce and light hot! It's so good. Fried chicken is better with those delicious rolls they put with the platter“
“There's always a different bartender and it seems the more makeup they are wearing the more likely they are to get your order wrong. I ordered a double shot of Jack and a pint of coke and I got a double shot glass with ice and not even filled to the top and my soda had NO ice and it was half the size of a pint. That was a week ago. Two days ago, our food order got stupid screwed up! ...but as long as the bartenders look good, right? Shut up!“
“Lovely Little Spot. I Can Genuinely Seh.....It Likkle But It Tallawah!!! Atmosphere was welcoming, the home cooking aroma greeted you at the door. The presentation was satisfying and limitless. Everything was fresh and available. Greeted and served by Ms. Dulette herself who was extremely polite and hospitable. Couldn't resist the good food and conversation. Curry goat had me feening for some more 'Billy' , Rice and peas 'Shell Dung' and the Callaloo was rich like 'American Money.....green goodness. Fried Plantain had my tastebuds tingling with sweetness. Had to have a cold Ting, to wash it all down. Definitely needs a revisit. Oh I had to use the washroom aka 'loo'...aka restroom.. It was CLEAN, fully stocked, smelled good and the toilet seat was warm.......?????“
“Wonderful place for a nice romantic meal!Hubz and I decided to try this place for an anniversary lunch. Although you wouldn't be able to tell from outside, this is a nice, quiet little gem.We were seated immediately by our waiter. (I must say, I was surprised that the only waiter in this black establishment was white), just something I noticed. He was really nice and welcoming.Their menu can be found online by scanning a QR.It's pretty straightforward. They have a nice selection of creative dishes. We ordered some wings for appetizers.I ordered Shrimp and Chicken Rasta Pasta. Hubz ordered the fish and waffles dish. He got a ginger beer, and I got a tropical ginger juice. The meal was delicious! Everythingwas seasoned and cooked perfectly!Compliments to the chef! 5 ?After our meal, the owner (I believe) came by and told us about a Valentines Day event they were having with a live band and specials.Along with all my normal ones, we had to take a pic with our waiter as well because he was so friendly.“
“Possibly the best fried chicken in west Philadelphia. It's crispy and seasoned to perfection, plus you can get more traditional Ethiopian fare that also doesn't fail to impress. This is the kind of restaurant where everything on the menu is fantastic, so if you see a special just get it. A standout addition to a neighborhood full of great food and a delightful blend of American food and Ethiopian flavor. Wow!Vegetarian options: Fully vegan food options, clearly labeled. Easy to put together a delicious filling vegan meal.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free / vegan options.Kid-friendliness: Counter service eat-in.Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance to building has ramp + pull door. Bathroom in rear of building accessible via flat threshold. Bathroom is roomy, but may or may not have roll bars.“
“Who do 215 wings think they are?! Ordered the 6pc with fried rice. Bruh! The chicken was on point and the rice was smackin. If y'all put your feet in the food just say that. But seriously, my only thing is getting the food directly from the store vs. delivery otherwise it's cold and not 100%. I'll definitely be back.“
“I thought this place was closed all this time. Wow. No long talking, I give my cheese steak a 6.5/10. It's giving "papi store" with the soft bread, I know people love that style. The cheese fries blew my mind away. And I'm literally about to order some again (a few days later). Idk y'all, it's really something about that wiz. Delicious!“
“Best place to get a boba tea in the area. Their Korean style fried chicken is also pretty good. I really appreciate that they accept dogs inside and even give away free dog biscuits. that’s really nice when I’m walking my dog and need something to drink.“
“The food was great. We had a pretty large order and it was our 1st time ordering too. The quality and portion size was pretty good. I did a store pick up but they also offer delivery with grub hub. Definitely will get my business again ? Good customer service.they are awesome the girl is very nice her?“
“Very fast orders and you can order ahead and pick up in store. Marathon is pretty much the only local pizza place that makes flavorful pizza that isn’t swimming in grease. Not quite as good as Dominoe’s for most situations, but when you don’t feel like getting heart burn with every bite and you want a crust that tastes like it has natural flour in it, marathon is the way to go.“
“Tried for the first time yesterday. Ordered 4 combo meals that comes with fries and a can soda. Price wise their combos are $3-$4 cheaper than Wingstop. We tried the garlic parm, hot, Cajun, and hot lemon pepper. First the fries that come with the combo are crinkle cut style and you get a good portion and they were probably the best fries I've had compared to some of the other pizza places or restaurants that serve fries. They were huge and cooked to perfection. The flavor of all the wings were good and were seasoned and sauced evenly. My only negative would be on one of the combos we got an extra small drum and for my wings I think they were fried a little too hard for my taste. also I ordered my combo with shrimp fried rice. The fried rice was good but the shrimp were on the smallish side. But overall good value for your money and great tasting wings and the portion and crispness of fries were a great bonus. I would definitely recommend this place for your Wingstop alternative. I will be ordering from here again.“
“I tried chicken and tteokbokki here. You can choose chicken in small, medium, and large sizes, and the small size costs about $15 for one person (picture attached). You can choose between Korean BBQ, Soy Galic, and Spicy sauce, but I personally recommend soy galic. You can also choose half and half sauce. Don't expect the taste to be the same as Kyochon Chicken, but if you go when you miss chicken a lot, you will be somewhat satisfied. (But the Coleslaw tasted better than I expected.) The tteokbokki was also really delicious, so I recommend it. The price is reasonable and the staff is so friendly that I would like to go again.“
“One of the very few places around where you can get food at a reasonable price. Unlike many they haven't raised their prices to an over excessive amount. Which is why they are getting the business. Other businesses may want to copy what they are doing instead of being greedy and over charging customers for food that should remain at a reasonable price for business.“
“Wowwwww it should be illegal to make food this good. It is soo hard to find good soul food with flavorful sides. I got the jumbo shrimp platter with mac and cheese, candy yams, and collard greens. Food and service was so good. 100/10 I will definitely be back!“
“I have been coming to this place for about two years now and I am definitely not one to write reviews at all, but this place really deserves it. I am a senior in highschool and the chef john is the nicest and humblest man i know. He is kind to every customer and makes amazing food (I like the garlic rice bowl the best). Today, he saw that i wasn’t eating and came over to me directly with my favorite order. I didn’t mention that I was fasting for the month of ramadan. This just goes to show his character and i hope that he gets all the customers he deserves“
“Talk about a memorable catering experience!!! ???Today is Wednesday and I had their food on Friday ?!! At the Senators 50th birthday party!! The customer service top-tier! 5⭐️The FOOOOOD SOOO GOOD! 5⭐️The OWNER/ CHEF ?? she was so sweet and very polite, warm welcoming, understanding in about her business!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️BOOK WITH THEM FOR ALL YOUR FOOD NEEDS!!! ????“
“Brought my family in for a meal on Sunday afternoon. We had a pizza, a Caesar salad, wings, a meatball hoagie and a Cheesesteak. All were delicious. And huge portions - a great value. My daughter is a picky eater and she loved the pizza. We sat in the back and had plenty of room. The owner came back and spoke with us for a while. He put cartoons on the TV for my daughter. He made my whole family feel special. Great family vibe. Will 100% be back.“
“Touch Down Wings got the best wings… I remember ordered lemon pepper and Parmesan garlic wings with French fried and two soda. Man the wing cooked perfect, the way they season lemon pepper is perfect balance taste. Will go back order again. Y’all gotta try it and it got many tons flavor.“
“Have to give Slice It Up Pizza and Catering a huge shout out for the amazing food yesterday!! We got food for my daughter’s baptism party and everything was delicious!! From bruschetta to the penne and meatballs to ~the fan favorite~ cheesesteak egg rolls. It was all a success!! Thanks to Mike and Cory and the rest of the team!!“
“Ah yes, the Grays Ferry Deli. What's not to love? Great breakfast food, awesome cheesesteaks, fresh fruit salads, tasty homemade drinks, etc. This small neighborhood spot gets busy, so it's best to phone in your order. Don't forget to bring cash.“
“I think I must have caught them on an off day but the Sicilian Supreme Pizza I got from them had very little cheese when it was supposed to be extra, hardly covered half the pizza, toppings were undercooked. I am sure they are great people but I will not be coming back unfortunately.edit: The owner reached out to me after seeing this and made everything right, replaced my pizza free of charge, great dude. The replacement pizza was much better!“
“I like the Popeye's on Hunting park, next to the tire shop, but let me tell you about the one on Broad street by the (35th.)District. I was very impressed with the store, the staff was young but professional, food was hot and Omar and the crew have their (bleep)together.“
“Very tasty late-night eats. I walked in to order, and it took a few minutes, but I got really fresh fried chicken, and there's nothing better. The staff was friendly and accomodating, and made sure I got everything I wanted. There were some other patrons hanging out, and it was very well-lit, to the point that the street outside was lit up by the lights in the building. So it felt very clean and open.“
“Food was tasty, but the number of menu items is a bit disappointing.Recommend the Daytona Style wings. They are worth the mess. Most know the staff is part of the reason many eat here, but I recommend watching the other guests for entertainment.“
“I have been coming to this place ever since I've been a little child and always get the same thing. That being said I have looked for a better Stromboli and found others lacking and wanting what I get on a consistent basis from here. Small space but enough for what it is.“
“I love this place. I get exactly the same thing (chicken teriyaki rice bowl with white rice) every single time for years now because it’s good, reasonably priced, and consistent quality. The people that work here are super nice and the space is clean!“
“Since we moved to the area a few years ago, we have enjoyed the Golden Great Wall. Always friendly, quality ingredients, consistent and they are willing to customize our dishes to our liking. Love the Chicken Curry, Szechuan Chicken, Hot& Sour Soup and so much more… Our go to for local American Chinese!“
“I love food in general, but I'm also a pescatarian, so there are a lot of things I don't eat. That being said, everything I have received from this place has been delicious! Lo mein, shrimp basket, vegetable fried rice, broccoli in garlic sauce, and of course shrimp rolls and egg rolls are some of those items. Not much, but for me, the little things are what matter. I'm also quite choosy. Noodles and rice can sometimes be disgusting. I say that to emphasize the fact that this is the SOLE Chinese restaurant I frequent. Hope this is useful!“
“Great value. I had the chicken on rice w/ salad & hot sauce. Couldn't try the white sauce due to a milk allergy. The chicken, rice and salad were fresh. Platter came with a canned soda for $8. Plenty of drinks to choose from. Def would return.“
“I was so impressed with the menu that this young lady has. I ordered the Salmon rice bowl with fresh spinach. It was delicious!! I don't live on that side of town but will definitely return for some of the other menu items. Kudos to the courteous staff as well.“
“Good taste, well served, convenient prices, good location. The lady there was really nice as well. There's plenty of options in the menu to choose from. I liked the chicken fried rice a lot, but could be better if it had more chicken.Still, I recommend it for the overall taste and price.I wish they accept card payments, although I can understand if they don't want to pay the Visa fees, because in the end we customers end paying for that. They accept cash, venmo and something else that I can't recall now.We purchased the large portion of chicken fried rice, wonton (12 pieces), white rice, and some other dish with chicken -don't remember the name- and it was enough for us four. In total we paid around $22.“
“Chicken is. Good I plan on try their double cheeseburger tonight hopefully it is good. Update the double cheeseburger was good my only disappointment is they don't sell cheese fries another thing is they have very sketchy people standing around the store at night so make sure if you're gone be safe and pack some heat if you know what I mean“
“First time ordering from this location: was concerned bc of ratings however; I was craving some Dominos Style Pizza and they delivered !! Take-out was flawless.Thank you to the Dynamic Duo that was there tonight !I ordered 3 Pizzas via Online.“
“I enjoyed my Sunday at the cafe thank you to my server T. Me and my friend calls her TT lol.Her smile is very friendly and professional. Overall great customer service. Thank you to the chef food was licking finger good. Music was good. And it was a slow night. Chilled from 3:15 to 10pmWheelchair accessibility: No stairs“
“They’re always so timely and everything is fresh! I usually pick up and by the time I order and drive over it’s just coming out of the oven. The staff is always professional as well. I usually don’t eat Papa John’s anywhere else but this location is a go to for my family. They always have deals on their website to take advantage of as well.“
“As a long time vegetarian, I thought I had no business being in a chicken place. I was pleasantly surprised!! The vegetarian honey mustard chik’n wrap was really great and cheaper than what I’d pay at vegan places! Fries were good too. Definitely coming back.“
