“You can eat at the breakfast bar. But it's not necessarily a specialty coffee shop. It's more a corner convenience store with fresh donuts, coffee, and hot food made to order. It's easy to pass if you don't know what you are looking for. Amazing customer service and donuts.Kid-friendliness: My kiddos love their drink, ice cream, candy and snack selection. Not to mention the donuts!”
“This bar is definitely NOT closed at this time, but don't try to get in if you're under 30 years-old. The bars in declining old steel city of Dusquene tend to be few and far between, inconsistent in their operation, and with very spotty data on the internet and social media-- although the facebook site is updated regularly. But the bars that survive can carve out intimate and pleasant spaces, amidst the crumbling surroundings, and this is the case with the Safari Club, on the ground floor of a 3 to 4 story old building, with broken windows, faded plywood over upper doors, and the brick walls in back appearing to crumble. But inside the Safari is a cozy neighborhood dive bar space. True to it's name, the Safari contains a good number of African artifacts and jungle-themed decor. But like many true dives, the theme varies widely. Above the bar are three taxidermy buck heads, two quite professionally done surrounding one that appears older and executed by someone just starting to learn the craft. Opposite the pool table is a selection of photos of old school jazz and rock stars. The bartender and manager Quanda tells me her uncle owns the bar and the taxidermy, and she guessed it had been here for about 23 years, with no idea what was here before it. The efforts to maintain a friendly, safe environment are more evident than usual, including a large fluorescent green 86 list and requirement that you must be at least 30 years-old to enter. Altogether it creates unique neighborhood joint and a welcoming getaway from the heat and humidity, as well as the other struggles outside. The drinks are typical dive bar spirits and canned beers, and the food fairly standard pub fare (wings, burgers, fish sandwiches, etc.). Events include Bar Bingo nights, karaoke, and the occasional live band.”
“This is a family owned bar with a positive attitude....the food makes you wanna hugg the cook Everytime....I eat there 3 times a week with amazing food at a budget.....I love the atmosphere....no immature kids....just grown folk trying to relax drink and eat good”
“I found it by accident. And I am so glad that I did.The ladies that own it have the perfect southern charm to go with their perfect southern soul cooking. They are from Georgia and you can taste it.I had the wing dinner. Perfectly seasoned perfectly fried wings. Mac and cheese so cheesy and amazing. And the sweet potatoes. Oh my the sweet potatoes. They were hands down the best I ever had. Creamy and sweet and perfect. It was all so amazing. The food, the service, everything. Such an amazing hidden little gem.I will be back for sure.(They have all you can eat on Sunday’s for TWENTY DOLLARS!)”
“I had an awesome time the event that I attendant in the VIP room was two thumbs up I had an awesome time with my friends I would patronize the Kansas City Saloon again”
“I love walking in the door and the first thing I see are a friendly, productive staff! fast paced and serious about the success of the dish and customer service.”
“The tenders have never failed me! The new wings are very over rated IMO, they were not great. I will not be getting them again. The frozen lemonade was sweet & delicious.”
“I can’t say anything about the food because it was an UberEats order, as far as service goes I was waiting for probably 10 minutes which ain’t that bad considering it is Taco Bell after hours the employees are cool ”
“I ordered a burrito a hash brown and a drink and after I received my receipt I realized I wasn’t charged for a hash brown so I told the lady at the second window this morning and she took care of it and handled it very well with a smile on her face. Very pleasant and nice, she deserves a raise!!”
“This place is one of...if not THE BEST restaurant in the area. Food was amazing with so many choices with such great textures and flavors melded together. Service here is impeccable and the ambiance is perfect. We will definitely be back for more if we get a reservation.”
“I come from a Mexican family in California, so when I moved to Pittsburgh, I was deeply disappointed at the lack of good, authentic Mexican food. When I found this place, I rejoiced! The food is amazing: made with the authentic basics in mind, yet refined with originality. It really feels like home in all the best ways.”
“Beyond being some of the (if not the sole) best Italian food I have ever had, what stands out most about Dish Osteria is their commitment to true hospitality; we arrived early to have drinks at the bar, and from the start we were treated with care and true personal interest. The bartender was so insightful and walked us through the menu, answering any questions we might have so that we could order our dinner with ease (it was last Wednesday at 8PM— I forget his name, but please give him his flowers. He was amazing!). I had the Little Bird bourbon cocktail and absolutely loved it. This level of care continued as we moved to our table for dinner. Our waiter and host went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal, refreshing our bread without us having to ask (that homemade focaccia was dangerous— we couldn’t stop eating it!), suggesting wine pairings, and also allowing us to taste two options when we couldn’t choose. Every single dish we ordered was phenomenally crafted and delicious ; we ordered the Gamberi shrimp and grilled artichoke salad to start, followed by the short rib ragu gnocchi and rigatoni with smoked scamorza for our entrees (I will dream about both of these dishes for some time). For dessert, we had the lemon cello cheesecake, which was perfectly balanced with sweet and tangy flavors. Our waiter also provided us with a complimentary glass of moscato with our dessert. This was a phenomenal first experience at this restaurant and I cannot wait to come back. I’m also gifting a visit here to some of my friends for their anniversary and can’t wait for them to try it as well!”
“Very very good, small curated menu with lots of freshness. Very good service, alekhya was extremely sweet and gave good suggestions.Had a great time.Vegetarian options: Yes”
“Do yourself a favor and order the potatoes, they are crispy and perfectly seasoned. The bread is amazing as are the other Italian baked goods!Dietary restrictions: There are several baked goods labeled nut-free”
“This place is AMAZING! My mom and I are in town for a college tour, and many people were walking around with the ice cream so I suggested we give it a try. Immediately the two guys in there were delightful and very helpful and cheery. The atmosphere was so fun the moment we walked in. The flavors were amazing and I almost couldn’t choose between the Thin Mint and the Pittsburgh Pride. I ended up going with the latter. It is like brownie/oreo/cookie chunks and butterscotch. There might be another thing added. My mom got the pear flavor. We are both extremely satisfied with our choices. They did say that the flavors change up pretty often - for example, they’re getting ready for Blackberry Lemonade. But Pittsburgh Pride will always be available. So if you’re looking for a cute little dessert place after dinner, this is the place!”
“A great hidden spot, you might miss it driving past but once you come you’ll wonder why you haven’t tried it. Great seating, even more so now that they added a covered and heated exterior.”
“Steve and I enjoyed our Easter dinner at Senti. Chef Antonio created a very fresh Linguine Con Vongole with rapini and brought back his Pollo Valdastana, which was do flavorful with ham and fontina cheese. We enjoyed our time with Holly at the bar and talking with Franco. We just. love the welcoming atmosphere here.”
“Very amazing food, if you are looking for something new or just visiting and want some delicious Lebanese food this is the place to come, the service was amazing and the food was delicious!Parking: Plenty of street parking roughly 2 blocks worth”
“A high end, high priced, and high quality experience. The seafood options are wonderful. Black cod with a hint of heat and spice or a hong kong style sea bass or some delectable scallops. The shellfish tower was light on content for $80 but made up for with good flavor.Cocktails can be hit or miss and I found them to be fairly weak.Service was top notch and our hostess was very knowledgeable and friendly.”
“Definitely vegetarian friendly, which is often difficult to find in Pittsburgh. We appreciated the variety of vegetarian options … BBQ Mushroom with Rajas, Buffalo Cauliflower, and Sweet Potato tacos were delicious ?Vegetarian options: Mushroom, Cauliflower, Sweet Potato options for tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, and salads”
“A truly unique atmosphere! Had a cigar & whiskey in the cigar lounge which was a really unique (speakeasy) like experience.Dining room was very comfortable. It’s an open concept but it’s not loud. Menus are tablets which can dial in allergies or certain profiles you’re looking for with food, wine, liquors & cigars. You can tell a lot of thought went into the little details. Which is impressive.Dinner- venison loin was cooked perfectly & everything that was on the plate tasted great. Sommelier provided great wine recommendations for courses. Server was outstanding. Can’t wait to go back!”
“Owner is such a kind person. Came here after a very long day at work and he gave me a free mango lassi to drink while I waited for the food.Food is absolutely delicious and great por New India Grill is my new favorite spot.”
“Wendy the waitress was amazing. She did a fantastic job and was always there to serve our needs. The pasta on the menu was amazing as was all the sides we had. The only down side was that I wanted a Bolognaise pasta and Wendy told me that it was not on the menu, but they could make up a batch for me. First off, unlike the other pasta's on the menu that were amazing, the Bolognaise dish that the chef threw together for me was mediocre at best. Not to mention, I was charged $46 for the sauce and $3 for the noodles? For a plate of pasta that was not good at all. When all of the other dishes offered much more of a delicious pasta at half the cost. Long story short, don't order off the menu and you will enjoy this very much.”
“ECHT is an eclectic yet laid back spot where you can try great food and catch up with friends or enjoy some solo dining. The physical space is intriguiging to look at, and they have a wide variety of items including but not limited to coffee, tea, cocktails, and breakfast and lunch fare.”
“Waffles aren't that great...The omelet was delicious, but I couldn't see the added green pepper. The jasmine blooming tea didn't have a good scent either. The Turkish bread we ate together was delicious.^^”
“Brian was an excellent tour guide and we had a fun time with the group as a whole! We didn't feel rushed and had a decent amount of time to spend at all three breweries.”
“Such an awesome restaurant. Had a great experience. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup was fantastic. Same with the wonton soup; never had better wontons. We also got beef fried rice and string bean chicken. All of it was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. Thanks for the great lunch!”
“This place was recommended to me by a friend, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Great service, chatted with one of the owners. He shared his families beginnings, starting with his Nana’s exceptional recipes. They use quality ingredients… then they add pure love, respect and consistency in the food that they put forth daily. Great people, great story and great pizza. The dough was light and crispy, a perfect mix so the toppings can shine! Cash only. A definite must if you’re in Verona!”
“Sorry, I can’t speak the service or the atmosphere. It was actually bought for me, but it was so good and fresh it took about an hour or so to get to me, and it still was fresh. I’ll Definitely be paying this spot a visit soon☺️??”
“The food was fantastic. Came in on Ash Wednesday for a fish sandwich and it was very good. Will definitely stop there again. Only complaint is the place needs a good cleaning/facelift but other than that the staff is friendly and food is great!”
