“Sorry I didn't have any food. But a great little corner bar. Old time stuff. Just a place to go in and have a couple drinks. And pick up on the occasional conversation, which can get very interesting. Great bartender will make what you ask him to.
Please do not pass on good information about this place. I don't want anybody else finding out about it.
If you're lucky you can run into the psychologist that I ran into, and get a session for the price of a couple drinks.

Parking: The later in the evening the better. Meters on both sides of the street. Went at 10:00 p.m. had the whole street to myself.“

“I just joined Five Iron Fishtown and I love it. The location is great and I love the vibes of the inside. The hours are perfect as I generally go to use the simulators before work in the morning and work on my swing or play a round. I’ve also had a few lessons with Senior Golf Pro Matt Davis and I can already tell my swing has gotten better. With the technology they have and following Matt’s direction I feel like I’ll be performing a lot better once I get on an actual course. Highly recommend.“

“We traveled from Colorado and stumbled upon this place. We definitely lucked out. The atmosphere, the drinks, the people all deserve 5 stars or more. “Treated ourselves to this place we saw on diners driveins and dives after shoveling a whole bunch of snow. The atmosphere is great, packed especially for a winter storm day. There were only three servers and one of them had to bartend as well, but food and drink came super fast. They are doing the best they can!

Got their brunch special with duck (which is absolutely delicious), a veggie burger, French onion soup (urgently needed in this weather), 1 cocktail and 2 desserts. Total came up to $77 before tax and tips. Great deal. Totally worth walking half an hour in 20 inches of snow for.“

“This is straight up one of the coolest vibes in black Philadelphia. You get such a diverse crowd of people across the diaspora and the food is amazing. Karaoke night brings out some REAL singers but even if you aren’t good, the crowd is still so supportive and fun. I really love this place.“

Finally stopped in for lunch and got a hot beef & cheese (sharp provolone). While I love the modern day sandwich shops with crazy creative combinations, nothing beats a high quality yet simple sandwich like this. Fresh meat, roll, everything about it hit the spot. Added a bag of chips for $1 (sandwich was $15). My friend got the turkey special and loved it as well.

“Hands down the best place in the area before a game, event or anytime. We take our kids and they love it. Do not sleep on the menu, it’s an amazing variety. Service is excellent every time. This is the place we tell all our friends to hit up when we are in the area. 10 out of 10!“

“It’s a great new dive-ish bar in the area. Big bar with 3 TVs with tables and TVs in the back. The draft list is just okay but I assume it’ll get better with time (they need more local beers and then a cheap domestic option). Haven’t tried the food yet. The service is awesome. The bartenders are super cool. It’s just a good vibe kinda place.

Edit: rooting for them still but I had jerk wings and they were just not good at all. So over-fried and dry with little flavor and skinny bones. I definitely won’t try wings here again but maybe some of the other food is okay.

Still love it but the need to do a better job with the draft beer - last time the only beer on draft out of 8 drafts that was available was Guinness (which I love so it was fine but still).

“The Local has an old-vibe neighbor bar atmosphere. That being said, the lunch menu had vegan-vegetarian options which I was pleasantly surprised to see. “I picked up my friend from the airport. He was arriving late. We needed to find a spot for some cold beers and some food. We arrived 1020 food service stopped at 10. The bartender, I forget her name, but she saw we were hungry, and offered us two hot beef sandwiches, with all the fixings, white horseradish, freshly grilled long hots, and that sharp provolone. Oh my goodness. So good!! Definitely recommend this place! Even the locals welcomed us. Even tho we are both local, definitely felt right at home.“

“Been there a few times now after discovering it a couple weeks ago and had a different bartender each time. Without fail, each bartender has been exceptionally welcoming and kind! Haven't gotten food but it does look good. Week nights seem to be quiet for a beer and very little wait on the pool tables. Went on a Friday and the place was buzzing, love to see it! Pool tables being $1.50/game is great compared to so many other places.

“Delicious as always. I went yesterday, with a friend and I got to say, your prices have gone through the roof! I mean doubled by $8-$10 per meal. We also got there at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon, the dead of August, we wanted a hightop table. We were told that they were reserved and That people would be coming in within the next 45 minutes, and they didn’t wanna have to switch us again. By the time we left at 7:30 there were still 2 high tops available/empty. I’ll still be back because it’s a Broadway but those two things definitely bothered us“

“I had my rehearsal dinner at the Daisy Tavern back in May. When I first booked the dinner, the Daisy Tavern was still on the newer side and working out the details of private events. I definitely took a small risk booking and was a little nervous but wow did I make a great decision. Every single detail was well executed and so thoughtful. Melissa was very responsive via email. Our server was attentive and so kind. We had a guest with Celiac disease and the staff was very helpful in accommodating her. Our guests were so impressed and loved the dinner. It really set the tone for the best weekend ever. I could not recommend them enough.“
