Had to come back for a specialist appointment yesterday, and asked friends, where can I get a good hoagie in Newtown Square. A Cut Above Deli was the ONLY recommendation, and they were 100% right! The hoagie was ready on time, wrapped in four sheets of paper, and was solid, hefty. The countermen were friendly and genuine. $15 for a "regular" seemed steep, but I was judging them by the standards of lesser sandwiches; once I opened it and got a bite, I realized it was a fair price. I just had the other half for breakfast, and it's gonna be a good day! Full marks, A Cut Above!“

“I only get to order from here a few times a year unfortunately, but every time i get something from here it is great. Eggs are always cooked perfectly. They're variety is fantastic. Cupbop is always great and hardy! They are a family and very friendly people every time. This most recent experience was interesting. I placed an online order and went to pick it up and when i got there all the lights were out due to a black out. I saw someone else go inside and talked to the owners about my order, and they still made my order for me in pitch black! I have never had a restaurant do this, ever. Every time i can get down here and have time i will support them. Everyone else should as well.“

“I recently bought a hoagie from Tony’s Hoagies at 2nd and Porter because a friend of mine used to bring them meetings not to far away.She said she couldn’t get to Rocco’s so she went to Tony’s. I told her about Jeannie’s. Tony’s were pretty good I was pretty hungry which helped. When I was eating the Hoagie I couldn’t help thinking I wish I had a Jeannie’s Hoagie plus I get to talk to Jimmy McAllister who owns it while his son Steve makes it. I know a lot of the regulars so I get to catch up on some of the news in S Philly. And Jimmy is one of funniest people on the planet. I don’t know why but his Liverwurst is the best I ever had and I lived in NYC. In the mornings I often would get a BLT also outstanding and the prices you have to ask twice because they are so cheap., 7 out of 10 times I will get a coffee and sometimes to go and eat the sandwich and drink the coffee in Marconi Park a mere 10 minute walk. She forgot a couple items but was well spoken and sincere. We and others could easily see how much she was challenged. A big crowd came in right away. I showed her my appreciation by giving her a reasonable gratuity...There was a delay in someone else not receiving his meal-a simple breakfast sandwich-within 30 minutes.
