The daily specials (kielbasa & egg sandwich, and Italian melt) were great and already thinking about the next ones I want to try (ex. The Bobby). “Hershel's East Side Deli is located near the center of the Reading Terminal Market, and was quite busy when I went, although it was Saturday around lunch time so that's to be expected. Great service across the board, was met with a smile by everyone I interacted with despite the crowds. Getting to the main attraction, the pastrami sandwich is out-of-this-world delicious. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I originally thought the price ($17) was a bit much, but it is well worth it for the experience and the portion size was so large I easily made two full meals out of it.“

“This has become our go-to place for sandwiches. The ingredients are always very fresh and the rolls and buns are so soft and good tasting. And all that goodness is then wrapped up in paper at least three layers thick so it is fresh and does not get damaged when I tuck it in my bike trunk. Also, whenever we arrive the workers are always so friendly I feel like I am part of a small family and just stopping by for a meal.Matt and Marcella have really been fantastic in their care for the food they create and serve. “What an unexpected find this was after climbing the Rocky Steps! It was time to indulge in a hearty breakfast and why not try the Christie's Breakfast sandwich. “First time ordering from Marinucci's, we ordered hoagies for pick up. Pick up time was 15 minutes after placing our order. We order a Italian and two turkey hoagies. We were waited on right away and everything was ready. The hoagies were very good. The roll and meat were very fresh and was plenty. We will definitely will order again.“

I then met Steve, the chef and culinary genius behind the magic that is, Costa Deli.Per Steve's expert recommendation, I ordered a classic Italian hoagie with sopressata, provolone & capicola, hot peppers, sweet peppers, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar, and hot pepper flakes. This was easily one of the best hoagies I've ever had. The flavors were so balanced. The bread was so fluffy and light, yet robust enough to easily hold the ingredients of the sandwich. I have a coffee pot, but I prefer theirs. Snacks are always fresh, never stale, and lunch meat is awesome. “This hoagie shop delivers quality (Deitz & Watson) lunch meats with a smile! You can have your hoagie made by them, or buy the rolls and lunch meat to make your own at home. When I order my hoagie I ask her to make it the opposite way she makes others, which is the correct way to make the sandwich. For some reason she thinks the lettuce and veggies should go on first, then cheese and lunch meat. I know I won't be able to eat a whole hoagie in one sitting and I'll have to wrap half back up for later. If the lettuce is what makes contact with the bun, the hoagie will be soggy later on. For me it should be cheese, meat, lettuce and veggies (on top) in that order. Picky? I think not. I ask for this because I like her shop and I want to support her small business, she doesn't mind at all. If you want your sandwich made the conventional way, you'll have to ask.While the worker or owner are making my sandwich, I check out what she has in her store. I like to get a big pickle, chips, and rice pudding. I get the rice pudding immediately because there may only be a few and someone else might choose this popular dessert. I check her freezers for good tv dinners and for water ices. The water ice is pre-portioned and prepackaged but still yummy. It's easy to just grab one. Once I got inside I seen all the sandwiches they had and was tempted so ordered 5- 1 ham and cheese hoagie 1chicken cutlet hoagie 1old world Italian and 2 Pisano….well they were all packed with meat these were amazing sandwiches. My husband said he stopped getting Italian hoagies because they always use ham on Italian hoagies and it’s not the same, NOT Chubby’s OMG delicious and the pisanos sandwiches did not disappoint they were so good!! “4 minutes ago NEW Today I ordered a hoagie through grub hub, but when I received my order there was a mistake. After a quick call to the deli I was able to speak with one of the employees (who was very nice, professional and apologetic even though I know we all make mistakes and there were no hard feelings) but she and the manager were able to correct the order and even redeliver themselves! When I received the correct order and opened the bag they had a very sweet message with a nice treat to enjoy later.
