“Administrative details - While you usually must make a reservation a year in advance (which I did), there are a very few earlier spots available on their website. In addition, if you are on the email list, they send the occasional last-minute availability. Talula’s is BYOB. The price was $125 and with all the other things, taxes, gratuities, it came to $160. The Nook Table is available for 6-8 diners and the Farm Table is for larger parties. Website link is below. Everything is presented in “tasting” small portions. In addition to the menu, they provided a couple of additional offerings. I did not do a good job of capturing the delightful descriptions of the food provided by our server. (The next time I go, I will video the descriptions if they allow.) The group did a great job of bringing wine which was beautifully poured in appropriate glassware by our server. The server also paired the wine with the offerings for us! The service was exceptional without being pretentious. After each tasting, plates, utensils and glasses were cleared and refurbished so discreetly that you hardly noticed. The menu changes with the “farm to table” availability. My favorite was a squash tarte. [I was delighted to find that I did not like the foie gras. It is “made” in a most inhumane and horrible way. This is the only time I have eaten it and I will never eat it again.] I was sorry to find that by the Black Garlic Beef Ribeye (#6 on the list), I was getting to the point of “too much food.” The only downsides were “too much food” for most of us and the wines they suggested for the pairings were hard/impossible to find. I personally did not like the varieties of wines they suggested for pairings. The rest of the party enjoyed the comparable wines they were able to find and allowed the server to pair with the tastings. I will be making a reservation for next year very soon. I have already made a reservation for the “sister” Talula’s Garden in Philly for September.”

“I brought my daughter as we recently moved to Kennett. The restaurant was very clean and the entire staff was so welcoming. The owner came over to make sure we were enjoying everything and couldn’t have been any nicer. The pizza is very good and my daughter loved the cheesesteak. They offer delivery as well which is convenient.”

“We went here yesterday for the first time as part of our AmazingCo Mystery Picnic date. seemed like a popular place. We were given a GF chicken wrap for me, a falafel bowl for my husband, a hummus plate to share, a cinnamon scone for my husband and two drinks. I had no idea what to expect, we don't live in the area. The food was AMAZING!!! I honestly couldn't believe how good it was! The GF chicken wrap... delicious!! the hummus tray...who knew hummus could taste so good!! they went above my expectations. I normally feel like I'm getting the bare minimum when I go out for food since I cannot have gluten or dairy. this was certainly not the case. the ONLY downside was the wait for the food was kind of long but it was Soo worth it!!! I'm ready to take the 50 min drive to go back today haha definitely have added it to my favorite food places where I can enjoy DF GF. highly highly recommend!!”

“This is our go-to place for Mexican takeout in Kennett Square. We regularly get the special meat burrito with lomo (seasoned shredded pork), burrito with asada, and chicken quesadilla. The huaraches and enchiladas are also really good. All meals come with a ton of food. They give you little hot sauce containers and limes to go with your meal. There’s a small eating area where you often find people dining, but we typically to takeout because we order during the week and the food travels well. They’re always really quick when we call; about 15 minutes and the food is ready.

The owner is almost always the one who answers the phone and greets you when you come in. You can tell that he cares about his restaurant and making his customers happy, and you can feel good that you’re supporting a small local business, not a big chain. (If you happen to be helped by someone other than the owner, like a moody teen, don’t let it put you off).

The prices are reasonable, especially considering how much food you get.

One note: PAY CASH or you’ll be charged a credit card fee that they don’t even tell you about. This is the one complaint I have about this place. I know that many businesses are now doing this, but there are no signs in the restaurant warning of this fee and if you tell them you’re paying by card, they type a higher amount into the credit card machine without telling you.

The small parking lot could definitely be repaved and the building looks a little iffy in its lighting and placement among car repair shops and an apartment construction site, but it all adds to the feeling that you’ve found a hidden gem.

Parking: Not too many spots, but I’ve never found it totally full. Pavement is bumpy with lots of holes.”

“Rose was our server/waitress/CSR. She was absolutely on top of everything. She is the reason we will be returning. It is rare to find someone that is an exceptional representative of the brand.
I should also mention our order was perfect and brought out in a timely fashion.”

“I love love love Patisserie Lola!! I met the owner at a local farmers' market and she was so sweet. The moment I tried her pastries I was blown away. I quickly became a weekly shopper! She recently made my daughters 4th birthday cake and it was incredible! You can taste the high quality ingredients! I highly recommend and will be a lifelong customer!:)”

“I ordered takeout of chive cakes, coconut curry dumplings, and crispy tamarind chicken. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. Service was fast and friendly. I like that they've added specials and new dishes to the menu so I can try new things. My standbys are the spicy beef salad, papaya salad, spicy eggplant, or pad khing with duck. The soups are also excellent. I'm very glad to have fresh, dependable Thai food in Kennett Square!”

“Though some things have changed at the Cafe' since our last visit, the food is still the same high quality, and the atmosphere can't be equaled anywhere. Many items that used to be available on the steam tables are now pre-packaged, so service is faster and more hygienic. In particular, the mushroom soup and other hot items are kept at the ideal serving temperature, which I really liked. This isn't McDonald's though, so don't expect fast food pricing. You pay for the convenience and the setting, which are well worth it, since you don't have to leave the Gardens to eat. It's best to think of the Cafe' as a snack break, instead of a meal, because there are many fine restaurants nearby for later.”

“Tonight was our first night trying Portabello’s. We had an excellent dinner! My wife had the chicken parmigiana and I had the stroganoff. We shared the chocolate decadence cake for dessert. Had an excellent server named Erica. We will be back.”

“We either eat in or get take out about every other week. Their rolls are excellent, my favorite are the Dragon Roll and Eel Cucumber. My fiance loves their Sushi and Sashimi dinners. Decent prices, great service. They stayed open for takeout throughout the Covid period. This is a local favorite. They have another location called GuGu Asian table just outside of town. I haven't been there but my brother says I is just as good. Recommend you purchase a take home bottle of their salad dressing. Best I've ever tasted.”

“I have enjoyed many products from Taste of Puebla over the years as they come to my local farmers market. Recently I tried 2 new products - the jalapeño poppers and the queso. Both are quite tasty. The poppers fried up well and are full of flavor. The queso is creamy and not too salty. it's great as a dip or on nachos. I highly recommend both!”

“My husband and I are frequent customers and rave about Sam’s to everyone who comes to visit us. I love the Italian Special. My favorite part about their subs is how their light and fluffy rolls really let the quality of the ingredients shine. This also means the sub isn’t overly filling as a single serving, and you don’t have to chew forever. The staff are a hoot and the old school feel gives me such nostalgia.”

“My husband & I had our wedding reception here on April 27, 2025. We were the 3rd couple ever (the first was Joe Biden’s niece on December 31, 2024)! After we became engaged, we just knew that Longwood was the right fit for us. We didn’t even consider other venues. I have been going to Longwood on average twice a year my entire life, and I introduced my now-husband to the gardens while we were dating. My Mom grew up in Chadds Ford, 2 miles from Longwood. The staff really took care of us from beginning to end - from behind the scenes with Miles, Brad, and Miriam, to the incredible florist Steven (who was previously head florist of the Biltmore conservatory), to the expert culinary team. The venue: the decor, food, flowers, lighting - everything was so elegant and beautiful. Longwood will work with you to stay on budget as well. For example, when deciding whether or not to go with the medium or large floral centerpieces at the dining tables, Steven said “I personally like the medium-size the best. It’s more intimate that way.” I just can’t say enough of how wonderful our reception was.”

“When you walk in it feels very dated and not super clean. They still have those lights up menus with pictures but have removed the prices that are typical of Chinese Togo places.
I got the boneless bbq sparerib combo. Had very good flavor. It was over $14, a meal like this used to be like $5 but I’m getting old and inflation etc so that may be just right.
Service was quick and friendly.

“Excellent Korean eatery in the Kennett Square Market. Everything, deelish. It's been a minute since I've had any Korean food at all, and that is shameful. But we finally got a chance today and we weren't disappointed. The bolgogi was tender and rich with flavor. The steamed pork dumplings were hot and moist. The banchan was limited to pickled radish and bean sprouts, but was delicious and crisp, and the kimchi pajeon was killer. Highly recommended.”

“The staff at this Wendy's were being unfairly harrassed by an an unstable white male as I went through the drive thru tonight. He banged on the doors and yelled through them at the employees, then I saw him walk away back to his car and pick up a rock on the way. He then drove up behind me in thr drive thru and yelled at them through the speaker, pulled out of the drive thru and parked behind the restaurant just waiting. When I pulled to the window, I told the staff what I saw. The shift manager said that he was there all the time and always treated them like this. She said they have reported him in the past but the local police say they can't do anything. The staff at this restaurant were friendly, prompt, and delivered exactly what I ordered. They remained calm and collected while there was an active threat even knowing no one else was coming to help them. I am amazed at how much these folk had to handle while the majority of the staff looked to still be teenagers. No one should have to work in these conditions. If Wendy's is smart, they (or the franchise owner) will look into this situation and give a raise to everyone there.”
