“My husband and I order from here at least once a week. They have great food, they are convenient to our location and they meet all our exceptions when it comes to take out orders. My favorite by far is their Philly Cheese Steak Pizza! Oh my gosh...it is so good. If you like the sub you will love the pizza.“

“The Smokehouse has been one of my favourite restaurants for many years. It was a Birthday celebration idea, and I am thrilled I thought of this place. We stayed at the beautiful Antrim 1844 (do so, as it's a wonderful place to relax after dinner). We had a steak tartar, as a chef's treat, and then the magic started: the chef showed his talent! I enjoyed the fact that his creativity did not go into "what is this foamy stuff on something we don't know what?": the sauteed mushrooms were delicious, and the salad was fresh with outstanding grapefruit dressing. The main course I selected - duck - was tender and plentiful, not microscopic in size, like in many other places you would get these days. The sommelier recommended 100+$ bottle of wine, which was not good, as much as we tried to like it. We sent it back, and chose a different Pinot (the sommelier said now we are on our own :)) - We chose Croix Pinot and loved it. Desserts were large - they don't make their desserts at the restaurant, we were told - still, my cheesecake was very good. Please, stop in at the bar for after dinner Port or Sherry and enjoy the ambiance near the original fireplace. Excellent experience (we did not dwell on the sommelier tactics!) Life is too short for that:)“

“Wow, a few coworkers recommended this place and I'm so glad they did. Olivia's, Mediterranean restaurant in Gettysburg is a must check out place. Their menu doesn't stop from the appetizers to the main meal and desserts. Then top it with amazing drinks. I had the Raspberry Pink Moon and it was so good. The Lobster, Crab, and Shrimp Scampi was so fabulous! The Coconut Cream Cheesecake was so delicious with several different textures. I can't wait to return and try something different because there were so many amazing choices.“

“During Lent Season, we frequent Big Mike's Crabhouse on a Friday, typically late afternoon. We try to beat the crowd, as this restaurant is not that big, but the seafood is absolutely delicious! Service is always excellent!!!! Big Mike's is a very relaxed atmosphere! They are a BYOB, so you can bring your favorite adult beverages if you choose to do so!!! If you choose to have an entree, but do not wish to have the sides, they will adjust the price! I love their cod fish (2 pieces), but don't always want the French fries, etc., they will serve you just the fish and adjust your bill accordingly. The pound of shrimp is always cooked to perfection, we have our shrimp served with melted butter and cocktail sauce, so delicious!!! If you're in Hanover and love seafood, stop by!!!!“

“Family owned and operated <3 Lots of space, cute atmosphere, and easy to find. Gyro was just what I wanted and the sauce was so good I needed extra. Think maybe the best gyro I’ve had. The French fries are my favorite kind with the crunchy outside texture. Kabobs are what they’re known for and the S.O. just ordered the lamb kabobs for the third time in a row. Fresh, flavor, and friendly. Tell all your friends.“

We are from Maryland and know where THE Best crabcakes are from so we had to try Dutch Country's Crab Cake since the menu says --You have never had any like theirs! “Best desserts ever! OMG I'm going to have to keep going back to try them all! Skip dinner - the food is just okay. But definitely go there for dessert - and breakfast. Breakfast is good if you don't mind fighting your way to a table. They're always packed on the weekends and won't put you on a wait list. They also won't let you stand in line in the restaurant (there's really no room), so you end up in a hungry group crowded around the door, trying to keep others from jumping the makeshift line. It's ridiculous! But the wait staff is friendly, breakfast is yummy, and the homemade desserts are worth a fight!“

“We were in Abbottstown to get new wheels for our van at L&M. It was dinner time and we decided to stop at Altland House Grill & Pub on the way home. Excellent. We sat on the porch and had a nice relaxed time. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had the flatbread and fish and chips. The food was tasty and it was fun to watch the traffic navigating the traffic circle as we ate. The price was reasonable.“

“One of the nicest places to eat breakfast in Hanover. The food is always excellent, especially the pancakes and the coffee. The staff there is outstanding. The waitresses are so friendly, efficient, and always seem to go the extra mile to make sure that my visit to their restaurant met all of my expectations. I tend to order mostly the same breakfast each time I go there and the one waitress seems to know what I am going to order without me even telling her. That is an excellent waitress who pays attention to her customers. The restaurant is always very clean and I simply enjoy the atmosphere and the food. Highly recommend this Perkins Restaurant!!“

“My husband and I came here for date night. The building is old and refurbished and beautiful. We ordered the goat cheese apple pecan salads, the cayenne butter bread, the sausage and meatballs with burrata and the pan roasted salmon. We also had the linzer cookies, chocolate mousse, and frozen key lime pie. All of the food was delicious. Especially the salmon. The only thing that was kind of bland was the cayenne butter for the bread. Otherwise everything was great. We will return.“

“My wife and I figured that we would go out for lunch today since we haven't gone on an impromptu date for a while. We have been to this location before and enjoyed the experience. The only reason I didn't give the service five stars is due to the receptionist that greeted us. Well, she tried maybe in her way. No smile, couldn't have cared less if we were there or not.She was very short and abrupt with us. After showing us to our table, we both said thank you. All we got was a straight face and a stare back and then she walked away to go do her thing.I get it. Customer service is a hard job for anyone nowadays. I'm a first responder and I can totally understand what it means to not be appreciated at all. But when someone extends kindness and is polite, you need to reciprocate that. Granted, she may have just been having a bad day and I get it. We all do. But in customer service, you always go that extra mile to smile and make the customer feel welcome and they're appreciated. If you can't do that, then perhaps a different line of work is needed. In view of that, we would go back again. The food was done just right. I always get a steak there and it was cooked exactly like I ordered. Well done.“

“We came across Earle's a few years back while traveling back from Gettysburg & I am so glad we decided to stop! Although we have never been there for any of the night time atmosphere they offer during the day & early evening this place is just the best place. The food is fantastic, the staff are all friendly & even the people sitting there enjoying a beverage & possibly a meal make you feel at home. You won't be disappointed if you decide to give Earle's a try!Parking: The parking is more than adequate for this little gem.“
“The Altland House is my go to place when I'm visiting in the area. The rooms are extremely comfortable, the food is great, and the prices are quite reasonable. Lexie was the hostess during my most recent stay. She is a delightful young lady who seems to enjoy going out of her way to accommodate the Inn's guests. Truly a memorable experience.“

The restaurant is well-known for its affordable prices and delicious dishes, and I highly recommend trying their gyro omelette. The gyro omelette is a unique and flavorful dish that combines the classic breakfast omelette with the savory taste of gyro meat. “My buddy and I had a nice stop in this bar after a day of skiing. We got the spicy burger, which was one of the specials (fresh jalapenos/pepper jack cheese etc). Staff was nice and friendly and the food came out quickly. This bar is attached to the assisted living and skilled nursing center above, and was described to us as a way for the residents to see people outside their circles and go out to a bar without the hassle of going out, which I thought was very nice.Prices were great, I think the burger with fries was $10 with a $5 draft beer to boot. If I'm ever in taneytown I'll definitely return for another visit to explore their menu further.“

“There're several Texas Hot Dog places in Hanover. Don't waste your time with them, head right here. My Dad came here as a child and I'm a 50 year customer. I never go to Hanover without getting a Hot Dog and fries. Best Texas Hot Weiner at a reasonable price. Also very clean an family owned.“
“Stopped by again for a weekday lunch - this time we had a Short Rib Grilled Cheese & an Old English Melt .......aaannnd of course the signature basket of chips with Balsamic Vinaigrette drizzle & sprinkled Parm. Could go there for nothing but the chips! But I must say both sandwiches were AWEsome! We made reservations since it was the Monday of Valentine's week but, although busy, the place wasn't slammed. Our server was attentive & everything came out in a timely fashion - love the ambience! Lot of dark wood & copper which lends to the historical feel or the venue (Inn goes back to 1763) - always enjoy stopping in! (still) Highly recommended!“
