“Nile Cafe in Germantown offers affordable vegan Soul food with big flavor! The modest interior is lightly decorated and sparsely seated. There were maybe six two-chaired tables. Outdoor seating options are available. Walking in, locals cycled in, ordered, waited, and cycled out constantly. All the food, served in to-go containers, was fantastic. The duck in gravy and the jerk chicken stole the show before we had the dessert. After being impressed, we dug deeper into the menu. The coffee ice cream was super creamy and the cake was moist and decadent. Nile Cafe is special. Although there isn't much on the menu we didn't try, the food was definitely worth a revisit. I might just stop in for dessert when I'm around.“

“A gal pal suggested we try out the new restaurant. It was EXCELLENT. I had lamb saag. She had mango chicken? We tasted each other's food and just giggled. We had the smoothie and Indian Coke drink- both awesome. The dining room is TINY but the table settings are works of art- fancy napkin sculptures and elegant, playful silverware & dishes. The onion stuffed naan was exquisite. Our server was attentive, polite and answered our questions without hostility or offense. The spices are ON POINT. Their system of personally developing everyone's plate is outstanding. I discovered that I am a wimpy +2 while my friend is a +3. Trying both our food with the varying heat/spice ratios, I could enjoy and taste all the flavors without having my tongue burned off, lol. My ONLY complaint, which has kept me from trying them in the past, is that to order and pick-up take-out, you must use their back door which I find to be creepy and dangerous looking. So I guess I'll only go when I can eat in, using the front door, LOL. However, I was impressed when we asked for our leftovers to be packaged, our server gave each of us free complimentary fresh bismati rice to go along with our uneaten entrees. They give good portions! And the packaging is washable, reusable, recyclable plastic containers- not cheap carboard that soaks up sauces or scary unstable thin plastic that leaks or horrible styrofoam that should be outlawed. THIS RESTAURANT IS WONDERFUL!“

“The best Jamaican food around . Very authentic, great taste, nice portions, reasonably priced and extremely friendly staff. We ordered it to try with my son in law who loves Jamaican food. He has tried several and says this is the best! The chef did his thing! Some of us never had it before and what a treat to try authentic food that was spot on. Not too spicy, just perfect! “Excellent beer and food with impeccable service. I ordered a flight including blonde, session ale, West coast IPA, and brown ale. The blonde is light and crispy with a very light sweetness at the end. The session ale has the traditional bitter and hint of malt. This one finishes with what I describe as a dry tobacco finish. The west coast IPA takes me back to the great IPAs of the 2000s. This was such a treat. And the brown ale is perfectly malty. You have to love a good brown.

For food, we had the wontons with a dill sauce, Buffalo cauliflower, and a chicken sandwich. All tasty, well-prepared and quality ingredients. Excellent stop.“
