“I grew up on homemade Middle Eastern food made daily by my parents, so I’m very picky when it comes to authenticity. I’ve tried a few places that just didn’t hit the mark—but AL SHAM in Chalfont is a straight 10/10!! They serve real Arabic bread (pita)—not tortillas disguised as pita like you find at other places—and their homemade Lebanese toum (garlic aioli) is the real deal. One bite of their falafel wrap instantly transported me to a boardwalk in Lebanon, overlooking the Mediterranean—complete with fresh bread, Lebanese pickles, and those perfect pickled turnips. They were so friendly, helpful and attentive, the chef even came out with one of our dishes! We had one person in our group who has Celiac and all the food we ordered was gluten free and the flavors were off the chart!! The ambiance, service & food all exceeded expectations. “It is rare for a brewpub to have vegan food, and I echo what others here have said about the quality and options. Owners are vegan and seemingly intend this to be sort of a vegan place with meat options without making it obvious, lol. Most pizzas can be made vegan, and the mushroom one comes drizzled with a black garlic aioli made with vegan mayo (I asked). Their flagship West Coast IPA is to die for. And the roasted broccoli appetizer was divine. Definitely a place to return to many times. The building is a former horse stable attached to a market, and we mistakenly went into the market first, but the pub is actually between the hotel and the market. Plenty of outside seating, not so much inside, so make a reservation. We went for lunch when it was not as busy. Very friendly cool staff. “We had my son and future daughter in law’s rehearsal dinner at the Newtown location tonight. It was fabulous!!! Everything was done so well and the food was delicious and never stopped coming!! “Tucked inside the Mom's Organic Market at the back of this shopping center, Naked Lunch is named for William Burroughs and vegan except for some dairy cheese. The portions are big, and there is a cute seating area where you can watch the shoppers go by. (This market is the most spacious I have ever seen.) Like another reviewer said, you can get a meal and then shop. The kale Caesar crunch salad is one of the best salads I have ever had, with tender kale, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, and chickpeas, and you get 3 large cauliflower tacos that have a bit of spice. The create-your-own-bowl is a great option too -- and you can do that with pressed juices too. How I wish we had a market and cafe like this closer to home, but it's worth a drive. “The DM Sadonna was so welcoming. I passed her when shopping in Whole Foods and was asking about a food item. She kindly let me know she was unsure as she was not a WF employee. Fast forward when I went to order from PLNT she greeted me with a warm smile and hello as she recognized me from earlier. As I was deciding what to get she recommended the chilli and offered a sample. DELICIOUS! While preparing my order she held small conversation with my friend and I and still made a phemomenal burger. For my very first time meeting her, it felt like an old friend. I can only imagine the how she makes her staff feel. Definitley would go back just to say hello the next time Im food shopping in WF. “We love this place. We live in Philly, but just stumbled on it one day. Maybe it’s the owner, but a visit there feels like a special occasion . The appetizer of pita with a variety of dips is incredible, and filling. Next to come are dishes of souvlaki, falafel, lamb brochettes, vegetables, rice and salad. They are known for outstanding baklava (even for those who think they don’t like baklava), AND chocolate mousse. We have brought relatives and friends here from Washington, D.C. and Harrisburg, and all were thrilled .“
