“We love Spring House. The food, drinks and service are consistently top notch. Last night was a step backwards. We were greeted at the table by our server with bread and butter and asking if we wanted more than water to drink. In general the drinks took a while and so did the soup. We waited quite a while for someone to take the empty soup bowls and ask if we wanted a water refill or another drink. The soup bowls were taken when the entrees were served. There was someone nearby who was setting the table next to us but she was only interested a table that was still empty when we left. We remain fans of the restaurant and will be back but clearly not a good moment.“

“Once again, another wonderful meal! I ordered the Brussels sprout salad which I had not tried before. Glad I did! Lovely mix of crunchy sprouts, cranberries, walnuts, apple& Gorgonzola with dressing that complimented all of the flavors. Also had the salmon appetizer which is reliably excellent. Main courses of doradd & short rib delicious. I loved the chocolate cake & the “taste” of crème brûlée & ice cream are a great way to try several desserts. Veronica was lovely & helpful. “Another wonderful dining experience at the Valley Green Inn. This time my party of four came for Sunday brunch. We were happily surprised with a complementary basket of warm mini muffins. Which went very well with our glasses of very reasonably priced and good dry white. Two of us had the crabcake sandwich with fries which was delicious. my other two dining companions had salads – one a beautiful quinoa, and the other a large salad with chicken, both of which they enjoyed. Now, the service! We were fortunate to get Tristan again as our server. He was a delight as usual with attentive and upbeat service. As I said, a wonderful dining experience – good food, good service, and the beautiful ambience of the Wissahickon . What could be better. “
“My hubs tried the Birria burger tonight and wow, it was so delicious. He couldn’t finish it but it will make a tasty lunch tomorrow. Love that they are mixing up their menu a little bit. I had the pappardelle which was great too, although it is so heavy. I might suggest reducing the amount of burrata and adding some vegetable to balance out the dish. We really needed some good food tonight after a few underwhelming experiences recently and StoneRose came through for us!“

“McMenimin's is a terrific, very popular neighborhood bar/restaurant. It can be noisy, but if you sit in the back room, the noise is not too bad. We were there on a weeknight (Tuesday), and yet every table was filled by 7 o'clock. The food is better than one would expect for this kind of place. The fish and chips, chef's salad with portobello mushrooms and plant-based "cheeseburger" were all excellent. And portions were huge. The server was very pleasant. The reasons why this is 4 stars and not 5: No cocktail list at all and just a few not-so-great wines by the glass. And the entrees were served way before we were finished with the appetizers. They must have thought we had to catch a train. If you don't mind being rushed like crazy, then you might give McMenamin's 5 stars.“

“This place was very good. This was our first time coming here. We had a very short wait which was a welcome surprise since it was a Saturday around noon. “On March 9 we hosted a baby shower for my daughter on the patio at Jerzees. Even though the weather outside was terrible, we were completely comfortable and warm inside the patio. Everybody commented on how delicious the food was. We had the penne à la vodka, pizza, chicken fingers, and Caesar salad. The service was great. Our server, Bella, did a top-notch job. It was a crowd of 30+ people, and no one was ever without a drink or her excellent service. I would highly recommend Jerzees patio for small events. And the price was very reasonable, too. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.“

There were quite a few diners that knew each other which gave a hometown comfort. The food was delivered hot and delicious. I ordered the daily special of French toast, sausage and coffee. Then added a side of hashbrowns with onions (which I heard were good and they were). My husband ordered a western omelette, grits and rye toast. I was kind enough to share some of my hashbrowns with him. We cleaned our plates and my coffee cup was always full.
