“I absolutely love this place! I come here around twice a month, and I always get take out - the pulled pork shoulder with the crispy skin on top (they got to use scissors to cut it), yellow rice, beans, and the spicy green salsa when they have it. The mango juice (when available) in the cooler on your left while ordering is a great accompaniment! I enjoy talking to the other customers about what they like, and how great everything is.“

The food is delicious too! I’ve tried the wraps, chkn salad, and hoagies and highly recommend. Also tried both soups, “fish” stew, drumsticks, jerk chickpeas and curry chickpeas, and chkn with gravy which were DELICIOUS. favorite sides are cabbage, collard greens, and Mac n cheese.“

“We had my son and future daughter in law’s rehearsal dinner at the Newtown location tonight. It was fabulous!!! Everything was done so well and the food was delicious and never stopped coming!! “Finally got to visit my friend’s restaurant! We were NOT disappointed!! Excellent food, attentive staff in a quiet warm atmosphere. The menu made it so hard to decide but the Crab Cakes were the best I’ve ever eaten. The food at the whole table was amazing. Looking forward to dining again when we’re back in town!“

“My family and I ate at this amazing restaurant! We happened to be in the area and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. We were greeted nicely, the service was good and the food was delicious! We even met Richard who took the time to graciously explain the history and origin of the restaurant/ menu. The atmosphere was inviting and rich with culture. I would totally recommend Samarkand! If you are ready for a new and unique dinning experience this is the place for you!“

“The DM Sadonna was so welcoming. I passed her when shopping in Whole Foods and was asking about a food item. She kindly let me know she was unsure as she was not a WF employee. Fast forward when I went to order from PLNT she greeted me with a warm smile and hello as she recognized me from earlier. As I was deciding what to get she recommended the chilli and offered a sample. DELICIOUS! While preparing my order she held small conversation with my friend and I and still made a phemomenal burger. For my very first time meeting her, it felt like an old friend. I can only imagine the how she makes her staff feel. Definitley would go back just to say hello the next time Im food shopping in WF. Also the other young lady Kelly was sweet as well. As far as the food... you cant ever go wrong! Even my meat-eater friend and family enjoys the food. It is that good!!“

“The food was absolutely AMAZING! We ordered a poke bowl, chicken nachos, burgers, kids’ burgers, and fries — and everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. You can really tell they care about the quality of their food.
The only downside was the service. When I asked for hot water, it was served to me in a PLASTIC cup, which was surprising and honestly a bit disappointing. Otherwise, great food and overall a place worth visiting if the service improves a bit!“

“A gal pal suggested we try out the new restaurant. It was EXCELLENT. I had lamb saag. She had mango chicken? We tasted each other's food and just giggled. We had the smoothie and Indian Coke drink- both awesome. The dining room is TINY but the table settings are works of art- fancy napkin sculptures and elegant, playful silverware & dishes. The onion stuffed naan was exquisite. Our server was attentive, polite and answered our questions without hostility or offense. The spices are ON POINT. Their system of personally developing everyone's plate is outstanding. I discovered that I am a wimpy +2 while my friend is a +3. Trying both our food with the varying heat/spice ratios, I could enjoy and taste all the flavors without having my tongue burned off, lol. My ONLY complaint, which has kept me from trying them in the past, is that to order and pick-up take-out, you must use their back door which I find to be creepy and dangerous looking. So I guess I'll only go when I can eat in, using the front door, LOL. However, I was impressed when we asked for our leftovers to be packaged, our server gave each of us free complimentary fresh bismati rice to go along with our uneaten entrees. They give good portions! And the packaging is washable, reusable, recyclable plastic containers- not cheap carboard that soaks up sauces or scary unstable thin plastic that leaks or horrible styrofoam that should be outlawed. THIS RESTAURANT IS WONDERFUL!“

I’m obsessed with the Korean beef empanada and my daughter swears by the original BA beef empanada—you really can’t go wrong with either. “My friend and I enjoyed a delicious meal. We couldn’t believe it was so tasty! we enjoyed the Reuben, crab cake sandwich and tomato lentil soup. We appreciated the biodegradable spoon but we wish it wasn’t so flat and was more of a scoop for the soup. Can’t wait to return!“
