New American Restaurants near Markleysburg, PA

“Before Curt's was Glisan's. This was/is a truckstop on the National Pike (Rt. 40). There are no "pre-made" baked goods. Their dinner rolls are the size of your head, and their pies (in my opinion) are legendary! The coffee was very nice, and I asked our waitress what they used, her reply was "Maxwell House". I guess the trick is mountain water. Unless you're Anthony Bordain, you'll be more than satisfied with your dinner.“

“We went here after visiting Falling water and Kentuck Knob. The drive from Ohiopyle was quite enjoyable. We were pleased to see how magical River’s Edge Cafe looked when we drove up. It was a fantastically beautiful evening and we sat out on the porch with a view of the river. Little did we know we would also get to do some bird watching too. The service was great and so was the food. You’ll be happy to have dined here.“

“The best thing I liked about Lautrec were the smaller portion sizes of some of the most delicious food I have tasted. The duck was excellent! I think that portion size is important so that the customer gets the full taste of the food and I think Lautrec does a great job of this. This is one of the few five course restaurants in the US where I can still find an appetite for good desert. Their cheesecake and side vegetables were also excellent.“

“Absolutely killer Cuban sandwich special that couldn’t have been any better! If you’re in Ohiopyle and looking for a place to eat, this is an awesome spot and after a long day of adventure we got more than enough food. Great tap list also a big plus“
