“Such a phenomenal place for breakfast, containing a large variety of breakfast foods such as pancakes, french toast, waffles, eggs, and more. Nice variety of coffees and lattes as well. They have lunch, but it’s a small menu, but it’s all homemade dishes which is definitely a good thing. The interior is fun, having many different pictures and nic nacs of old timey trends and fads. Very good location as well, being right near the train station.”

“I tried the salta here — and it was great — but the lamb Fahsa? Oh my god. Absolutely incredible. Perfectly seasoned, rich, and so filling. The bread portion was exactly what it should be: generous enough to fully enjoy the dish the way it’s meant to be eaten.

As a non-Yemeni Middle Easterner, this was my first real experience with Yemeni food, and I was blown away. I was so impressed that I later tried a Fahsa at another Yemeni spot just to compare — and it wasn’t even close to what I had here.

The atmosphere here is phenomenal, but not in the overdone, “look at our décor” kind of way. They don’t rely on flashy visuals or gimmicks — you walk in, order your food, sit down, and the focus is entirely on the food and the experience. That’s how you know a place is truly good.

The service was also top-notch — friendly, attentive, and genuine. You really can’t get any better than that.

“We got there for an early dinner Saturday afternoon and immediately got a table. We put orders in and we’re fast served. The food was very delicious and well done. Good presentation, the server was very professional, ambient was clean and a pleasant music in the back. Good location on Drexel Campus. Easy to park on the streets.”

“I grew up on homemade Middle Eastern food made daily by my parents, so I’m very picky when it comes to authenticity. I’ve tried a few places that just didn’t hit the mark—but AL SHAM in Chalfont is a straight 10/10!! They serve real Arabic bread (pita)—not tortillas disguised as pita like you find at other places—and their homemade Lebanese toum (garlic aioli) is the real deal. One bite of their falafel wrap instantly transported me to a boardwalk in Lebanon, overlooking the Mediterranean—complete with fresh bread, Lebanese pickles, and those perfect pickled turnips. The meat is 100% Halal and you can taste the quality. Flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. **This is the kind of spot you want to support. “We had such a fantastic experience at Illata in Philadelphia! From start to finish, everything felt special, and a big part of that was our amazing waitress, Mary — she was attentive, warm, and really elevated the whole evening with her thoughtful service.

The menu offered some unexpected surprises, and the standout for us was the carrot dish. It was hands down the highlight of the night — it almost felt like a savory take on carrot cake, rich and flavorful in the most delightful way. The trout was a pleasant surprise too; it leaned more toward the texture and richness of salmon, and honestly, it was one of the best fish dishes we’ve had in a while.

And we can’t forget the desserts — they absolutely blew us away. The rhubarb tart was perfectly balanced, and the chocolate cake was decadent without being too heavy. A perfect ending to a memorable meal!

“Delicious!!! My friends and I were so excited to try Bar Jawn, especially since we’ve loved Pizza Jawn for a long time! The food and drinks were all fabulous - Bar Jawn has a chill, relaxed atmosphere but boasts an elevated bar menu that is so much more and so far beyond typical bar food! Some of our favorites were the drunken ravioli, the buffalo arancini (so inventive!!!), the chicken parm (make sure you get it with ravioli!), the mozzarella triangles (mozz sticks with an upgrade!) and the eggplant stack! So excited to come back as the menu changes and try even more awesome options! Thank you, Bar Jawn!”

“Delicious Indian cuisine. I’ve been struggling to find a good Indian restaurant since I moved to the Philly area about 6 months ago, and I mean really struggling. Out of all of the places I’ve tried, Srinagar takes the cake!!! The Chicken Tikka Masala is incredible and is the perfect spice level for a medium. I did only get delivery via a third party service, but would certainly consider eating in next time. Will be eating here again!!!”

The pastries themselves were so delicious and very pretty (my personal favourites were the mini-cupcakes). And, Joe was a pleasure to work with, very communicative and upfront. We had to switch things up last minute from having the food out on display to having it packaged and handed out, and Joe and his team did a fantastic job pivoting, even coming up with a cute little QR code sticker with the menu for each box. We'll definitely be going back again.”
