This soul food restaurant is surreal. This restaurant cannot compare. No one can cook like Ms. Debreaux. She is a wonderful woman with very positive energy. The wait was a little long but trust me it is worth it! I recommend the chicken legs with greens and mac and cheese. There isn't anything like it. The yams are sweet and savory. I love this platter with all of my heart.
Best soul food in Philadelphia. Best soul food north of the Mason-Dixon. Be prepared to wait (I always call in with my order), but it is well worth it. Everything is amazing (fried chicken duh) but the corn bread is legendary (and sells out fast).

If you are looking for real southern soul food, comfort food that will sooth your soul this is your place. I've been coming to Debreaux's for over 20 plus years. I don't mind waiting, I'm never disappointed with my food, platters are hefty fresh and made to order, like I'm in my grandmother's kitchen.
