“Tried Jack’s Spot for the first time last night and it won’t be our last! Six of us came from our camp at local off-road park thinking we had an online reservation. They didn’t have any record of our name or reservation but went above and beyond to accommodate us. Our server Hillary was wonderful and the owner came out making us feel right at home. We ordered almost everything on the menu and we’re pleased with every bite. The Brussel sprouts and Pickle fries are a must try! Can’t wait to return for a slice of Peanut Butter Pie that they ran out of before we had chance!“

Along with a generously packed side salad and a cup of thick and creamy cream of potato soup I was certainly full as can be. “I have been stopping at this bar on the weekend for the past six years when I come to Kulpmont to visit my parents. The menu has not changed, and the food is great. I have had a cheesesteak and wings cooked by Joe the owner, and burgers from Nancy. She has been there since I started coming in and has been nice, and funny. We got to know each other on a personal level from years of repeatedly stopping in. I have been in on a Sunday night and the younger blonde girl was bartending. She was very nice and had my next drink ready ASAP. That aside, the past few times I have stopped in were not as they use to be. I have been taking my parents to appointments and stopping at the bar in the middle of the week. The new bartender with white hair, I believe her name is Kelly, is not to my liking, and from talking to other customers sitting near me, they agree. She leaves the bar for moments at a time and people in the bar sit waiting for new drinks. I have waited over five minutes twice in one sitting. She complains a lot, and has been seen outside smoking while customers wait inside for drinks. She does not strike up much conversation with anyone at the bar. Not a welcoming feel from her. I will not be stopping in during the week anymore. I would give a higher star service rating if I had not encountered Kelly. The four star rating is thanks to the owner Joe. Back to my weekend stop ins only.“

“Such a great, local, family owned restaurant. The food is absolutely fantastic. Always made fresh. Great variety on the menu from steaks, burgers, hot sandwiches (the hot roast beef and turkey are not to be missed), to seafood, like shrimp, lobster, and crab legs. You CAN NOT leave without one of their homemade deserts. Cakes, pies, apple dumplings, brownies, and more.The restaurant does get busy at times, but the staff does a great job of turning over tables and there is never much of a wait (I can't ever remember waiting more than 10 minutes or so). The wait staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful.“

We feel we get better food and service at small owned or feel like Mom and pop restaurants with good food. This place has good food and drinks. “Ok, this is my third visit here for dinner. I honestly love the c serving staff. The Bartenders and the hostesses really take good care of you. But each time I've gone and ordered anything other than a burger, it's been horrible. They need a better cooking staff. Burgers I've order have been really good. I don't know who is cooking when. Burgers were ordered during lunch time. But dinner time entrees that look good on the menu; so far have been simply horribly burned or very over cooked. I've order ribs the first time and chicken the second time I went for dinner.“
