“Well I will start out by saying everyone is super nice, the portion sizes are big and the food is delicious. I had issues though with my order. I specifically said no bacon and I got bacon. I don't eat pork, if I didn't notice it in my salad I could have eaten it. Thank goodness I'm not allergic. I also got cold fries and had to get them made again.

The fries are a little salty but still a good flavor and crunchy! The salad was super yummy once it was fixed. And I got the Autumn Fall Apple and Pear with the Apple Cider Vinegar instead of what it comes with which is the poppyseed.

All in all it was good and I will be back. The prices are great and everyone is friendly!“

I have never seen a restaurant where every server, food runner and staff worked as a great team!! To be welcomed by several staff, food arrived in great time, hot. and fantastic. Every person passing your table would ask how you are,how is everything and it truly is a group effort to 100% focus on the patrons!! I felt very special and appreciated. we ordered the zucchini strips and shared the large fish sandwich dinner. WOW! Wow! Well over a pound of fresh fish and two sides!! Outstanding just like the service and the staff. Kudos to management and staff, as you could see the great working team and how all patrons were exceptionally taken care of! Went on Saturday morning and it was so impressive we said “We’re coming back tomorrow before we leave!” Only to return Sunday morning and they had standing room only! “Stumbled upon Albero Verde, when looking for a fine dining restaurant for our Anniversary that wasn't $50-100/ plate and was more accessible than downtown Pittsburgh....Albero Verde, did NOT disappoint. The owner and Chef, Anthony Pupo, introduced himself while delivering a small, unique tasting of a wonton with a twist. This small but mighty restaurant provided top notch service, an intimate dining experience, good music, the option of BYOB, and the FOOD was too die for. The wonderful waitress suggested that we split the Wedge salad, and I appreciated the suggestion as 1 was plenty for 2 people...but when she brought it out, they had plated it on 2 seperate plates for us, taking away the hassle of dividing the dish ourselves at the table. We then had the Octopus and Beans and Greens appetizers.... both delicious. For our main course, we had the Fran and Fudge (named after the Chef's grandparents) a HEALTHY sized bone in porkchop with brie and goat cheese pierogi and the Scallop and Langoustine Spaghetti... both excellent! For dessert we had the Pomegranate Semifreddo, a refreshing frozen yogurt and a mini chocolate cannoli. We will absolutely be back! Thank you, Chef, for a lovely and tasty evening.“

“We had 7 people. Made reservations 2 wks prior. Food was delicious. One person got chicken parm, specifically answered "no" when asked if she wanted noodles. The meal came with noodles under her chicken. Also, there was an issue with their check. Waitress never brought the slip that gets signed from using credit card. She insisted she gave it, didn't understand they needed the part the customer actually signs. Not sure what the issue was but waitress realized she never actually rang it up which is why they didn't get the slip. So those 2, although they did like the food, weren't real happy with the service. Waitress spoke in double time. So fast it was hard to understand what she was saying. Seemed kind of moody so not sure if it was just a bad day for her, or if she's always this way. But the food was delicious!“

“Hands down the best breakfast we have ever had. Seafood omelet and steel city breakfast delicious! Portions are large, had enough to bring some home. “Was here this past Saturday for a private gathering on the second floor. Did was very good, it was presented buffet style. Only negative I had was entrance was from the one side of the restaurant up a rather steep flight of stairs. I was curious what they did in the winter time to prevent people from slipping on the stairs and the rational of this as apposed to having a stairway from inside the restaurant. Other than that like I said the food was very good, full bar and the one waitress did a fantastic job.

Update, ate here last week for lunch and again tonight 9/19/24, I think this will be my new go to, closer to home and better menu and they are open till 11pm, the kitchen also closesat 11.“

“MY friend and I went there on Saturday to celebrate our birthdays..Our server Adam was simply amazing. He patiently waited for us to decide on our drink order and went as far as to let us try the drink to see if we liked it, which we didn’t but he took it off our bill and then brought us a birthday card and wished us a happy birthday. The food was very delicious. But our main complaint comes down to Adam !! He was so fantastic and such a kind person . They truly have a rare gem in him as an employee! I hope they appreciate him because he is what makes it a truly wonderful experience there. We will definitely go back there and if we are lucky Adam will be our server.!!!“

“I do not recommend this place. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar last night and were never even acknowledged. We stayed for 10-15 and after no acknowledgement from the bartender or service we left. “This was our first time here and the breakfast/lunch bar was open. it was phenominal. great quality of food, tons of choices in buffet style containers to keep it hot. Everything from made to order omlettes, waffles, sausage, salad, pot roast, mashed potatoes, tender breakfast potatoes. my husband said it was the best omlette he has ever had. he had the Irish Omlette. “Very, very nice cafe. Great spot for a relaxed breakfast or brunch, with many of the breakfast classics and some of their own delicious spins. They are best known for their ricotta blueberry pancakes, which I tried alongside their croissant breakfast sandwich.

First, the pancakes. These were definitely quite good. Tons of real blueberries (whole little pieces) all through a fluffy pancake. And, they make their own syrup as well! I will say, I would have preferred a stronger ricotta flavor to cut some of the sweetness. But, they were still very good pancakes.

The croissant sandwich came with egg and cheese, as well as a side of home fries. They cooked the eggs perfectly, and included just the right amount of cheese. Their default is a fried egg (you can see they got the yolk just right), but personally, I prefer scrambled eggs. You can ask for scrambled eggs for no charge, so next time I will do so. It was a super flavorful sandwich! Really nice and buttery croissant as well.

The potatoes were also very good. Cooked well and seasoned to perfection. I’m surprised as to how much flavor this side had! They salted it quite a bit too.

All in all, I really liked this spot. Nice portions (the croissant was huge and so were the pancakes), prices were reasonable, and quality was excellent. Would definitely go back!“

“Went there for the first time on a Saturday for dinner. Nice place with lots of options. Our server who was doubling as cook was super nice and answered all our questions and special requests. I got the Cranberry Poppins salad. It was fresh, delicious and very large. The rest of my party had the fish sandwich, the chicken tenders and fries and the Alcove Burger. Everyone liked their food. We left just as the band was setting up. Would definitely go back again.“

I’m pumped to come back and try more of it all. “A classic local area diner. Usually decent food. I wish that they switched back to all iceberg lettuce instead of mixed greens for their salads, or at least give people the option of all iceberg. Their ranch is always great, and theres lots of fried appetizer options.“
