“Absolutely the best food. Everything was delicious and healthy. Kids loved everything too. I also like the variety of selection where we could get nice avocado toast, grain bowl, waffles, quesadillas and smoothie. You can’t get this combination in Panera or any other major place.“

“This is exactly what you want from a small counter service shop. The pastries and menu items are unique to the area and very flavorful. Items marked spicy are truly spicy, so be careful if you're sensitive to spice. The dining area is cozy but not cramped. Food and drinks are ready fast, and the staff is friendly and attentive.“

“Too difficult to buy a cup of coffee here, the coffee ordering set up should be in the front, not the back and why is it so dark in the back? I want to like this place but it has no vibe…just the sight of staffers running around. The Hostess always looks bored and the back is like a madhouse. It’s one of the only places to get a cup of coffee ☕ near to Rittenhouse Park but where it’s well lit, it’s a quiet upscale grocery shop but the back feels like you’ve entered a subway station at rush hour!

Not sure what the remedy is but I’d suggest that you open up the front space, remove the annoying velvet rope and stop putting “reserved” signs on all of the tables (just sit people there who want to enjoy a cup of coffee for 15 minutes). This is a beautiful spot, but boy does it stress me out once you walk in the back.

Put on Italian music and hire some drop dead gorgeous guy or gal who knows how to convey ITALIAN WARMTH to customers!!! Every time I walk in the hostess is shy. She should be greeting guests and be IN FRONT, not planted at the podium.

“Loved dropping in here on a Saturday. Very relaxed vibes walking in here, perfect for a relaxed meet up, coffee or quick bite. My wife and I ordered the Ume Plum Tea, Vietnamese Latte, Khang’s Special Banh Mi, Crispy Tofu Banh Mi, and Doenjang Butter Fries. The Ume Plum Tea is so unique, and their Vietnamese Latte is the best I’ve had. Their food portions are big, and will definitely leave you full. Highly recommend this place!“

“Some of the best black coffee I’ve had! I’m originally from Illinois. While the cafes I’ve been to in that state are good, this place didn’t water it down, and I didn’t even ask for strong black coffee like I normally would in Illinois. Very polite people! Got my drink in like a minute or two. Went well with my walk around the area!“

“I went here with my friend yesterday, and it was our first time trying it. I'm not the biggest fan of matcha, but yesterday we ordered one strawberry and one lavender matcha, and they were fantastic. Probably the best matcha I've had, ever. I highly recommend people try this out. The owners are very nice, and the place has a unique, cute feel.“

However, last time I went in 2025, the young guy at the counter overcharged $5…this is not about the 5 bucks that he try to steal, it’s about even with loyal customers, he’s still trying to to screw over. “I didn't realize I've never left a review but my husband and I have been coming here regularly for over 4 years. There are baristas that have been here for that long and are amazing. They are so so nice. I've been coming here with my newborn and now she'll be four and they truly embody the concept of a third space for everyone including rambunctious toddlers. They have never made us feel less welcome for our child being a child and have always made us and our children feel welcome no matter what. The coffee/barista talent speaks for itself, we have definitely been to hundreds, if not thousands, of coffee shops around the world between the two of us and definitely we always compare it to this gem! They have really cool events as well I've been to a couple of poetry nights. I don't drink alcohol but it being open late makes it a great place to have an evening tea or read a book in a different evening atmosphere.“

“I love Matcha Maiko NYC and thought I’d try the one here in Philly. I got the normal matcha latte with 50% sugar, whole milk, and normal ice. The latte itself came out not as dark as I expected, maybe too much milk was added and little matcha. The service was amazing tho, the lady at the counter was really nice and patient as I decided what to get. Aesthetics of the cafe were also great, very minimal and cozy vibes. Overall, I’d come again but maybe sticking with Hojicha“

“I love Adelie Coffee House. The coffee is simply delicious! It's rich, smooth, aromatic, soothing - like a warm blanket fresh out of the dryer. I've only tried the cheese danish. It was very good. The baristas are great - all of them. The coffee house itself is bare bones, yet clean and cozy. You have the option to sit outside if you like. I'm so glad this little gem is right down the street from my house.💜“

“To be honest, my wife and I (who live a few blocks away) came here when they had their soft opening. We had been aware that it was opening for what felt like ages but there was a delay for whatever reason. When the soft opening came, we walked in with excitement but there was no food left and the coffee was mediocre. For some dumb reason, that experience prevented us from going back for a long time, until today. I got the sababa sandwich and some pastries and it's hands down the best breakfast sandwich I've had in a long time, and there are a number of good coffee/breakfast spots in the area with good food. That is all to say, shame on me for waiting so long. I'm glad/lucky to have Stephens cafe in our neighborhood.“
