“It was our first time at this restaurant, and we were celebrating my birthday. Chef Danh warmly welcomed us, and after hearing it was a special occasion, he recommended we try the omakase, and it was absolutely perfect and with cheap price! Highly recommend for everyone!

Every dish was delicious, beautifully balanced, and felt like a true taste of Japan. The surprise tiger prawn tempura cake and birthday song from the staff made the night even more unforgettable.

Royal Sushi is an essential address for sushi lovers, and has been for more than 10-15 years. I ordered there a good hundred times when I lived nearby, and their consistency in quality always impressed me. It is a place that has managed to retain its customers thanks to its authenticity and know-how.

The establishment is run by an incredibly friendly couple, who recognize you even after several years. Their kindness and attention to their customers makes all the difference and makes each visit or order even more pleasant. It's rare to find this level of service, especially in a neighborhood where there's no shortage of restaurants.

The sushi is always fresh, well prepared, and the value for money is really excellent. Whether for a take-out order or a meal on site, you are sure to enjoy yourself without breaking the bank. Honestly, Royal Sushi remains my absolute favorite. A place to discover and adopt without hesitation“

“The food is good, the decor is nice, service is ok. I did not like the loud rock music though, very unusual in an izakaya restaurant. The buns with braised pork were cold and came with pickles, still very surprising. I am happy I tried it but it is not the kind of izakaya I am used to. So be aware of that when trying it. And no happy hour offered vs what says the black board. Still worth the try.“

Arrivé sur place, la commande m’attendait, j’ai été reçu avec un sourire dans un français impeccable (dans snowdon, ce n’est pas toujours évident)… malgré que je sois parfaitement bilingue ça fait toujours plaisir 🤩! “We had the salmon and the vegi poke bowl with shrimp tempura as an appetizer. Following this, we decided to also get the california and the shrimp tempura rolls. The food was absolutely delicious and we would definitely recommend it. The size of the bowls were a little bit small for us, which is why we also ordered the rolls afterwards. The service was very fast, friendly and forthcoming. Would definitely come again.“

“Although Kashima is located close to our home, I only discovered it recently following a neighbour's recommendation. Kashima prepares sushi for take-out only. I have been ordering a "small" sushi-sashimi combo. The sashimi is plentiful, very fresh and delicious, and the sushi also of excellent quality. The portions of wasabi and ginger are large and taste as if they were prepared especially for each order. The combo includes a small salad and a generous portion of miso soup. The price in view of the quality is extremely reasonable. Since discovering Kashima I have become a regular customer ( at least once a week), and l recommend it highly to those who appreciate good quality sushi and sashimi. For many years I lived in Vancouver, where sushi was plentiful, high quality, and reasonably priced. Kashima is the first restaurant I have found in Montreal that compares well to the sushi restaurants I enjoyed in Vancouver.“

“We had a dinner reservation at 9pm with a sushi platter. Presentation was impressive. We were there on a Sunday in February, it was pretty empty at 9pm but by 11pm it was a club. The sushi was alright, they also gave us to go boxes to take home which was a nice touch. Service was good, fast, and attentive.

The music was good, it got somewhat crowded towards midnight. DJ took my song request which was nice. We were here for a bachelorette party.

The bathrooms are really really nice, and there is a typewriter in the women’s washrooms which was unique. Unsure why there was a bathroom attendant in the women’s washroom you were suppose to tip, that seemed unnecessary.

Coat check was upstairs by donation.

Lots of stairs down to the restaurant/club, it felt like in a basement.

“The food here is great, but it’s not great enough to make it worth the price for me, personally. And I think a lot of people feel similarly because we went on a Saturday night at peak dinner time and it was almost fully empty…

It’s really a shame though because that steak and chicken dinner was delicious! But 60$+ per person with the tip and tax, considering it’s just a plate of meat and veggies that someone cooked in front of you, I don’t know if it’s super worth it. Cool experience still.“

“We went here twice, as I had a spend credit through the Hilton Honors program on my Amex Platinum card.

Good: we had the Omakase sushi and the lemon dessert. Both were absolutely fantastic. The fish was fresh and melt in your mouth. The lemon dessert thing was recommended from the waitress who was very sweet and gave great service.

Bad: this is very expensive, I wouldn’t spend money here unless I had free spend through my credit card. The breakfast was about as good as a shopping mall cafeteria. The berries on the side of my eggs Benedict had white mold growing on them.
