“Wow. Hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant on the South Shore. Prices are more than competitive, and the owner, Tsao, was incredibly kind—she truly went above and beyond. She even took the time to sit with us and share her story and her passion for cooking, which made the experience even more special. What we had: 🍜 Pho – After trying hers, you’ll never want pho anywhere else. 🍗 Chicken noodles – Silky sauce, perfectly balanced. 🥢 Spring rolls – Absolute bomb. 🥟 Dumplings with peanut sauce – A must, especially with her homemade chili oil. ☕ Cold Vietnamese salted caramel coffee – You CANNOT leave without trying this 🤯 ⚠️ Warning: This place is highly addictive. In cold weather, you’ll be craving her comfort food every single week. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“Excellent food. The portions are generous and have remained so since I started coming 7 years ago. Ordered the large soup with tendon only and there must have been 2 cups of tendon, I needed a to-go container. Hubby had the pork chop with a shrimp brochette and both were seasoned and grilled to perfection. The wait staff is attentive and thoughtful. Never realized it was bring your own wine! Good to know for next time!“

“Quite frankly nothing that hits like a good bowl of pho on a freezing cold night and this ruled. There was a guy there with a crazy twirly moustache too which doesn’t have much to do with the restaurant but it enhanced my experience. Might be worth hiring a guy with a crazy moustache to entertain customers in the future.“

“Pho Thanh is excellent - very competitive prices, big portion sizes, and the flavour is very authentic. A lot of pho places now are charging more than $20 for a bowl of pho, and you just get a few small pieces of meat - but not this place. You won’t be disappointed as they don’t skimp on the portions. We can’t wait to order from here again.“

“We came in for the food, and we left with a great impression of the entire team.
The food was great, and of very affordable price.
The staff was very kind to us, chatting with us when the had the time, and even offering us complementary tea. Anthony took the time to talk to us about the essence of the restaurant, how it's like a 2nd family to the staff, and you can really feel it in the way they interact with us.
I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for a nice place to enjoy authentic vietnamese cuisine, in a relaxed and friendly ambiance.“

“I finally had time to write this. Since I really liked the seafood dish with crispy noodless from Nguyen Phi on CDN, that unfortunately was closed, we decided to go in and try it here, thinking that the experience could be similar. We were 3 at the table. We also ordered a third dish with shrimps, beef and chicken.
Without a doubt, the seafood, with noodless, as a whole, was better in the Nguyen Phi. There, the sauce was more flavorful, well seasoned. Richer and thicker. Here, it was like water.
As for the other dish, it was generally good, but according to my table companion, the shrimps were dry. So much so that he had a hard time removing them from the toothpick.
The service time was average. Nice atmosphere and clean place. Next time, I might try their Pho.“

“Delicious Vietnamese Flavours at a Great Price
I had a fantastic experience at Pokai! I tried the bánh mì and the poke bowl, and both were fresh, flavourful, and generously portioned.
The bánh mì was everything it should be—crispy baguette, savoury fillings, fresh herbs, and just the right balance of pickled crunch and spice. The poke bowl, though more of a modern twist, was equally impressive—fresh ingredients, well-seasoned, and super satisfying.
What really stood out was the excellent value. For the quality and portion size, the prices are more than fair—making this spot a go-to for both taste and budget.
The service was friendly, and the vibe of the place was relaxed and welcoming. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down for a casual meal, Pokai is a great choice.
Highly recommended—I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“If you're looking for a Vietnamese restaurant that offers incredible Pho and Pad Thai, you should definitely check this place.
Their Pho is rich, flavorful, and packed with tender cuts of chicken/beef ,fresh herbs and vegetables delivering an authentic Vietnamese home food experience. The broth is perfectly seasoned, and the noodles are cooked to the ideal texture.
Pad Thai is equally impressive—balanced between sweet, tangy, and savory, with a generous portion of chicken. The portions are generous, and the service is quick and friendly, making it a great spot for a cozy meal.Shoutout to Daniel ?
Definitely place worth visiting over and over again!“

“I had the grilled pork with rice. The taste was spot on when compared to the better local Vietnamese restaurants. The price was reasonable too.
They can improve on 2 items
1) in the meat dish, the pork chops were very thin. Almost hot pot meat thickness. Doubling the thickness and adjusting the price would make sense. It shows the effort they spent to cut the chops so thin
2) we sat in the middle aisle. During a cold day, the cold air rushes in and some of the guests kept their coats on while eating their food. I don't think they can do too much now. In hindsight, the pair of double doors should have been installed with an offset.“

We’ve been going to Pho 88 often, and our most recent visit was tonight. As always, the pho was consistently delicious with a rich broth and generous portions. Service was fast and friendly, prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is clean. A reliable go-to spot that never disappoints.“
