We went there yesterday again on our Ottawa visit because we wanted food without onion and garlic. Only place in downtown Ottawa where you can get this kind of food is Peace Garden Pushpa who owns this place was kind enough and prepared paninis for us without onion and garlic by modifying the recipe to accomodate our request. If you have such special request please call them a day early. We got the food as take out and enjoyed it on the way back home. If you are looking for great vegan food with home cooked taste, you should visit Peace Garden !!“

“My family enjoyed a take-out meal last night from Sula Wok. I would describe it as incredibly tasty, evocative flavours, large portion sizes and generally a fantastic gastronomical delight! The chicken samosas were the best I have had anywhere in Ottawa, in short - awesome. The mango-ginger sauce for the samosas was also exceptional. My entrèe was the Tibetan Fried noodles with tofu. The portion was generous and carefully prepared. The spices were delightful, the vegetables were fresh, plentiful and throughout the meal rather than just placed on top. Every bite was delicious. Thank you Sula Wok for the best take-out meal I have enjoyed in years! I highly recommend this restaurant. It definitely deserves a five star rating.“

The meal was creative and full of flavour—each dish offered a unique twist and was beautifully presented. While it's a little on the pricier side, it never felt over the top—well worth it for the quality and experience. The service was excellent: warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about both the food and the impressive drink list. The only downside was that it was a little noisy, especially as the evening went on—something to keep in mind if you're hoping for quiet conversation. Still, the lively atmosphere added to the charm, and we'd absolutely return for another night of bold, delicious food in a stylish, bustling spot.“

“First time visitor on March 23, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was happily booked up when I tried to make a reservation, so I was only able to secure a table at 5:15pm. I left a little note asking them to keep us in mind if there was a cancellation for a later spot, and they contacted me by email, text, and phone when a later table became available for 6:15pm. Very responsive and friendly staff. Our time at Soif was marvellous. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. Service was relaxed yet very polished. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and took great care to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a flight of wine to start, followed by a beautiful bottle of white, and a flight of bubbles to end our evening. We shared a half cheese/half charcuterie platter that came with a mountain of crispy and delicious crostini, the latter being refilled without having to ask. Such a small but lovely touch. We also shared roasted Brussels sprouts, frites and aioli, a bison tartare, and grilled radicchio, that were all delicious. They surprised my friend with a little dessert wine and candle to acknowledge her birthday, which was so kind and thoughtful. I have not a single critique. The team here works like a well-oiled machine. No one seemed frantic or rushed. It was a lovely evening. I (we) will definitely be back. Santé!“

“We received a gift card from a family member for $100 USD as a Christmas Present and were excited about enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The gift card was purchased directly from Joey's, not a 3rd party. We went and everything initially about the restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was very good, the service was attentive and we enjoyed our experience until the cheque arrived. When we we presented the gift card (electronically) our server went to speak with a ⁶manager and then returned to inform us that the $100 USD would be honoured in Canadian dollars. $100 USD is worth $144.50 Canadian dollars according to google when checked today. We paid the bill and tipped the service team 22% and left after effectively having $44.50 taken from us and our family member in what felt like to us, theft by conversion. The manager in question did not come to follow up after our expressing our disappointment JOEY's is already a very expensive restaurant. Further, the gift card information indicates that Joey's has US based restaurants. I'm quite sure that Canadian dollar gift cards are not accepted at par in the US. This ruined for us, what was otherwise a positive experience, through what felt like to us, an act of corporate greed and impersonal profiteering. After this experience we will not be back and sadly, I cannot recommend JOEY's as a place for anyone else to dine at. Any company that sells a gift card directly and then fails to deliver full value is patently dishonest, in my opinion.“

Noodles have a satisfying texture. The broth is light but flavorful. The green onion and cilantro garnishes are fresh.

Luckily the fish clear sauce saved it as the noodles don’t have any flavour to it so you have to dip them in the sauce to get flavour. I would go back but I’d want to try a different dish.“

“soooooo guuuuuuuuuuuuuud!!!I had originally planned to take my friend from Montreal to a pho place I loooove (Pho Tuan) but it was closed for holidays...we met this very cute vietnamese girl living in the area and asked her where to go: she said go to Pho THu Do!!!may the gods bless her soul. We had incredible pho soup and deep fried rolls. I felt love in the 8 hrs simmered broth and it proved me the poetic lines of a Haiku book I read before: The Art of Peace, yes that was it!!!!!!“
