“Marvellous Mmmuffins... I remember them well since I frequently bought various flavours in the 80's and 90's when working in Ottawa's Rideau Centre. They were located on the first floor, opposite the original Food Court. The manager was so very personable with a very friendly female staff. The delicious muffins were high in calories, yet the best while still unsurpassed. How very nice that Montréal still has one!“
“Le topppppp de Montréal dans la qualité, le prix et surtout la fraîcheur des aliments et au niveau traiteur c est une merveille Bravo à toute cette équipe 👍👍👍“
“Whenever I visit my mother in Côte Saint-Luc, I stop by Maxies to buy a few containers of chicken soup or matzo soup, and sometimes bread or other baked goods. I really appreciate how hard-working the older gentleman (and I presume owner) is behind the counter. He's welcoming and friendly. I'm always happy to support this local business.“
“Thanks to Nosherz for my delivery!!Food smells amazing ! Appreciation to your staff for working during this crazy time ❤️“

“Started last Friday’s day off with a stop at the amazing Cafe dei Campi. Fully veganized Italian pastries and small pizzas. Soups and salads too but I stuck to the Italian specialties. Hazelnut filled tortellini melt in your mouth pastries. Amarettis and Biscotti. The essential Italian cafe’s big espresso machine which makes the perfect double espresso with the layer of crema and their cappuccino with perfect foam. Accompanied with a flaky delicious cornetto, it felt like heaven. Much chatting with my friend and a necessary second cornetto and espresso completed our visit by closing time. We had lucked out with a table. Had a great rest of the day that right from the start, arriving at the cafe there was a couple with their little boy wearing a Metallica t-shirt. Of course I had to comment, he was so cute and responsive to my speaking to him. And found out he’s a true fan of heavy metal music, this beautiful 4 year old boy named Sandro. So the day was pretty perfect.🖤“

“The olive focaccia is bussin, service is impeccable , they’re aura farming the whole Monkland street ! As you can see the picture , it’s missing part of the bread cause I couldn’t stop eating, it deserved a pause in between and a review ! Got the canadien bread and the quotidien also. This is generational bread, I hope your entire lineage gets the chance to eat it , what a legacy this bread !“

“This is a very good boulangerie located along Mont-Royal Ave East that is open from 7am to 6pm daily. They have a fair sized indoor seating area, many visitors seem to pop in for morning take-away. There was a short queue when we arrived 7.30am midweek. You'll find a nice range of mostly French style breads, tarts, pastries and bakery products. We particularly liked their quiche and almond filled croissants. Coffees served up on the day were very good as well. This seemed like a great boulangerie, one we'd like visit regularly if we lived in the area. Would gladly revisit next time in Montreal.“

“We weren't so happy with the free breakfast provided at the hotel where we stayed, so on our second day in Montreal we went to Plougastel instead. We kept going back every morning until the day we left! We tried brioche and a number of different croissants. Everything we ate was wonderfully fresh and tasty. The almond croissant was just delicious, with the perfect level of sweetness. They tend to be too sweet in other places, at least in the US, for my taste. The brioche was so good that I had to have two each time. The service was very friendly. Although the bakery opens at 7.30am, the owner told us that we could come in before then and the door would be open. True to his word, when we arrived at 07:00 the next morning, the door was open. This was very useful when we had an early morning trip to Quebec City. We tried both lattes and espressos, and they were both really good. At least three times, we happened to walk in just as something hot was coming out of the oven. Nothing like a still warm brioche. On our last breakfast in Montreal, we also bought a baguette 'for the road'. Along with some cheese, it made for a simple yet tasty lunch at YUL airport before our flight. Prices are very reasonable. Great place! Highly recommended!“

“The best babka I have ever had! Also the service was so good. She went out of her way to make sure I got the freshest babkas. She would not let me buy the older one. That’s so appreciated. Shows the love and care they have for their business. After talking with her she recommended we go with the mini babkas as we were pressed for time and the fresh large ones needed to cool down. One bite in and WOW. So good.“

“Wom! Aside from the hospitality and quick service even though the place was packed, the food was absolutely phenomenal. As someone who has had countless Lebanese and Syrian manouche and sfiha over the years, I can confidently say this was some of the best I’ve had in North America. Every bite was fresh, savory, and bursting with flavor. A true gem that deserves all the praise.“

“We had the Apple strudel (chausson aux pommes) and it was exactly how it should be: the texture you can feel the layering with a soft crunch, just right not doughy and not over baked. There were small bits of apple. There was no taste of excess sugar or syrup giving the apple filling authentic fruit flavour and sweetness“

“I have to say this is one of the kindest and tasty bakery in Montreal, i got 3 lahmajoun and the dough was so great exactly like in middle east, the texture was amazing it reminds me of old memories.
The lady that serve and women when they know that i didn’t have any cash to pay they gave it to me for free and say whenever you pass you can pay, and then she said you don’t need to pay this from us because it’s your first time here.
So sweet to meet people like this in Montreal, remind me of my country.“

“Excellent baked goods with consistent great quality, the area is super hard to get to because of construction and there are sketchy people around, but none of that is their fault, just a heads up. There is a lot to choose from, but it’s a popular place so get there early if you have a particular favorite in mind.“

“We've been customers of Ambrosia for over 10 years. Everything you get here is going to taste amazing! We decided to get cakes from Ambrosia for our wedding anniversary party and we are still shocked at how delicious they were! We showed them a picture of what we wanted the first cake to look like and they nailed it! Almost all of our guests told us that it was the best red velvet cake they’ve ever had and we agree!“

“Fantastic sourdough breads…olive walnut is a favorite, along with cinnamon and raisins…and all their monthly specials!! And the rosemary and sea salt focaccia which should be available all the time 😱😍. It’s not super convenient for me to go there, but I make the trip at least once or twice a month because the quality is superb. Kudos!“

“There is a huge selection of freshly roasted coffee from various roasters in the region. From what I understand, they rent the facility to do their roasting, and then sell their beans here, as well as at their cafes. Naturally, the place smells amazing! I had an espresso and an Americano to go. Both were excellent. The biscuits/scones are the best I’ve had in a long time…especially the plain ones with fresh cream and jam. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about all their products. The location is close to a path along the canal…a perfect stop during a bike ride or walk. Looking forward to my next visit!“

“Easily the best in Montreal. Soft, chewy and lots of whatever seeds you like. Get them warm out of the oven. The 'All dressed' bagels are especially good.
They also have Cheese Bagels & various spreads for your bagels.
Great service, great bagels.
They are closed on Saturdays.
Parking is usually no problem.“
