“It is a very popular spot, which doesn’t surprise me because the food was delicious. I got the pesto Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, the staff was super nice, and we got our food very fast after ordering. My only ick is where we were seated. The table is way too low compared to the bench that it made it a bit uncomfortable to eat.“

However there can be a bit of inconsistency in their preparation. I've been a few times and it has happened that the mash potatoes are too salty or the dishes are not prepared with as much care. Overall I've enjoyed my experience there most of the time. The decor is modern and spacious. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. “I have been going to Cafe Souvenir for decades. It has always been consistently great even when the ownership changed a few times. While the former concept was fantastic with the passport menu and more choices than you could ever try, I love this current ownership and iteration of the cafe and menu. It’s owner run, so they know what they’re doing and the attention to detail is there. Warm milk with your coffee, omelettes brought straight from the pan, to name a few details I appreciate. They know how to cook; French from France style. So many restaurants in Montreal have gone up in price and down in value. Not Cafe Souvenir! They are doing it well and I highly recommend them. Great, friendly service. One of my regular brunch places.“
