“It was here that I first discovered Lanzhou noodle soup, and it quickly became my favourite place to eat during the years I lived in Montreal from 2014 to 2018.
After leaving the city, I moved around quite a bit across Europe and the Americas. In each new place, one of the first things I’d do was search for the best Lanzhou noodle spot. Some of those bowls were excellent, but nothing ever matched what I remembered from Nouilles Lan Zhou.
When I finally returned to Montreal this summer for the first time since 2018, I came back here and ordered a bowl. After six years, I realised what I’d been missing. The flavour and texture blew me away all over again.
Thank you, Nouilles Lan Zhou, for serving me the best bowl of my favourite food. I can’t wait to visit Lanzhou itself someday to try the original, but this place will always be special to me.“

“Excellent bao and great service.
The server gave creat advice after hearing golf our food preference. The kitchen is pristine clean nd the food is being prepared hot and fresh. The cleanliness is really appreciated and the friendly service nad excellent food suggestions and quick service was all awesome.

“Food was ok. I liked the beef the most. The dumplings have a lot of juice, I give them that but I feel it's missing some taste, it was missing some salt? Service was ok, it looks family run and hit was a bit slow. They were friendly though. Price was ok.“

“We found this place while walking through the neighborhood.
It was about a 15 mins wait and it didn't disappoint.
We had 2 steam dumpling orders and 2 wonton soups. Our kids really enjoyed the soup dumplings. Would definitely come back when we're back in town.“

“This is usually the place we go to when looking for a quick and good takeout in the area.
Dumplings are always good, either fried or steamed.
Noodles were fine when I tried, and in good quantity.
Definitely recommend.“

“I want to give a special shoutout to the server Tim. He was very busy being the only waiter on the floor and he apologized profusely for his slow service (which by the way was still very fast). He ended up giving us complimentary sodas and even brought me back the wallet I forgot to my car. He's the best and they care about their service.
The food is also amazing and authentic. The portions are generous and the broths are flavorful. 10/10 would recommend and go again“

Tonight my dasher forgot one of the bag of my order. After checking with a call to the restaurant, they gladly offered me to come drop it themselves!! Even offered me a drink to compensate the wait.

“This is a place that looks simple when you enter but offers amazing food. Their menu is simple and everything is handmade. You do need to wait a bit since every dish is made to order. It’s worth it. We contemplated going back just an hour after to have some again.“

“The best dumplings I have ever had were my mother's, so that being said... The dumplings served here were the closest any restaurant has gotten to them and they have inspired new ingredients to our own family recipe. We hope to return soon as the staff were also very attentive and the atmosphere was wonderful.“

“I ordered takeaway tonight from a spot on St-Denis in Montreal and was pleasantly surprised. I went with the large pork wonton soup (10 dumplings) and the hot & sour cucumber salad — all for $17.22, which I found very reasonable for the area.
The soup was flavorful without being too salty, and the seaweed pieces added a nice touch. The cucumber salad was also fresh and tasty, though personally, I would have preferred a lighter hand on the garlic (you'll see what I mean in the photo).
The interior of the restaurant is simple but clean. It was a quiet Tuesday evening, so the small terrace hadn’t been set up, which was a bit of a letdown. That said, the service was friendly and quick — always a plus.“

“Montrealers typically say: Go to Toronto for good Chinese food. I generally agree except for Dak Hing. Everything is authentic, delicious, and even better than the best that I've had across the GTA. It's obvious everything is thoughtfully and craftfully made when they source their meat from local farms. We have never been disappointed here. Their 芋頭糕 (taro cake) for the Lunar New Year is THE best. (We order in advance - they are so popular!) We enjoy their 粽 (zongzi) during the Dragonboat festival too. Dak Hing keeps me connected to my roots and I appreciate their hard work so much.“

“Best Chinese food restaurant in Montreal for Beef & Chinese broccoli; Cantonaise chow mein; Chicken fried rice; Sweet & sour pork; and Lemon chicken! Since coming from Vancouver I have been searching for a good, tasty restaurant and I'm so grateful I found this one. As soon as I walked in the door on New Years Eve at 7pm, I was warmly greeted. Without a reservation, I was still seated promptly and served water and tea instantly. The servers were kind, friendly, and super efficient. The food came out within a decent timeframe considering how busy it was. It was all truly delicious. We ate enough to be full at the dinner table and we both had enough to take-out for full meals later on. I also appreciated the freshly cut oranges at the end of meal. A sweet way to end a great time here.“

“The Mapo Tofu was SO FLAVOURFUL ..!!It was the best Mapo tofu Ive ever had !!The rice was very well cookedI enjoyed my 12 am late night yummiest Chinese food & felt blessed..!!❤️ Thank you so much for putting in so much effort for this recipe!I am so surprised google never showed me this restaurant since a year, accidentally tumbled on Uber eats!!They also sent me 2 biscuits & 4 candies ? due to Easter..!!?I will surely be a regular at their restaurant now on?Edit: We went to the restaurant yesterday & it was very nice!!Olivia, the owner is extremely extremely sweet, she serves you like you are at her home! “One of the few high-end Chinese restaurants in Montreal! The food is authentic Szechuan, so be prepared for spicy food if you order from the special menu (it's worth it). I highly suggest reserving and pre-ordering the Peking duck, lobster, or Vancouver crab. Unlike many Chinese restaurants, service is excellent here. The free parking after 5 is also appreciated. Decor is casual-chic. And also unlike other Chinese restaurants, the place is spotlessly clean. I'm so glad Piment Rouge is back. It's a great place for a casual meal or a big celebration. “my wife and I were there last night. 05/25/24. first time there and it was excellent the service was great friendly and very helpful to explain the menu. The food was fantastic fresh hot and so tasty along with a couple of cold beers no complaints will definitely go back again. and not to expensive actually very reasonable. 5 stars.“

“Loved the food and the prices are reasonable too. The waitress was very attentive. The food came out very quickly after ordering. The only issue was that they take payment only in cash. But there is an ATM machine inside to withdraw cash, $2 withdrawal fee so that issue is solved too.
Definitely will be coming back again 🙂“

“I had dinner here on a weekend night, arriving around 8 PM. The owner was very accommodating and even though they close at 9 PM, they let us stay until 9:20.
We ordered the Dapanji (Big Plate Chicken), and the portions were very generous—we ordered the medium size and still had plenty left to take home. The naan was soft and flavorful, perfect for dipping in the Dapanji sauce. The smashed cucumber salad was decent, though the cucumbers were a bit sparse compared to the amount of dressing. The lamb soup was well-seasoned with just the right amount of salt, and the lamb flavor was mild, not too gamey.
While the menu doesn’t offer a wide variety of dishes, each one is a specialty from the Taklamakan region. If you’re interested in this culture’s cuisine, I highly recommend giving this place a try.“

The food: 5 stars. So flavourful.. the best general Tao ever!!! The best curry coconut milk soup , the trio grillade super good. We've been there 6 times for dinner and never disappointed
The price ; 30 -40$ , but you eat so well. Dishes are very generous portions. The value is definitely there.
The service is slow each time we went, so don't expect in and out .. but its ok if you're on a no rush evening dinner with friends.“

“The place is a great greasy fast food American-Asian joint.
Service is not the fastest but hits the junk food stomach sweet spot.
I think that they are adding more rice to their servings to fill the plates, seemed to have less rice and more « meat » before it got so popular.“

“This was our first time ordering from here I ordered spare ribs, rice, beef and broccoli, pineapple chicken, chow mein, and crispy won tons. The food was really fresh, tasted awesome and big portions not one bad thing to say about any of it, service was great also. I will be returning!“
