“I finally tried this very hyped restaurant. It is worth it. We got lucky on a cold Sunday at 13h there was barely any wait. The service was very quick. The menu is quite small but they master what’s on there. You get to pick your noodle size (6 choices). The portions are HUGE and the price very fair.“

“We went here with our toddler and baby, the atmosphere was good, good decor, good service as well. We ordered the cucumber appetizer, cold beef slices with cilantro, spicy Braised Beef with noodles, everything was delicious! My fave was also their pan fried pork shrimp Cilantro. Our new fave spot for Dumplings and noodles in brossard.

“A simple dumpling cuisine in Chinatown area. It is not a big restaurant so there are not many tables.
Service is good and quick. Staff are friendly.
Wanton soup was nice for a cold weather in December. Xiao Long Pao (pork) was delicious. The premium Tomyam one was also tasty.“

“My husband and I had been looking for a place to eat for at least an hour this February 14th, and then this spot appeared in our path!
We arrived just in time and were lucky to get a table. The noodles are made fresh on site — super fresh — and the broth was absolutely delicious. I dare to say it’s the first noodle soup we’ve had that tastes this good and doesn’t become greasy as it cools down.
We will definitely be coming back.
It’s a small, very pleasant and cozy place, with great service and very affordable prices.“

“Red Star is such a gem. We live downtown, so coming to this part of the city felt like discovering a totally different Montreal. Prices are amazing for how good the food is.
The two servers were so nice (one was in training and still did great). We had the hot & spicy soup and it was honestly way better than expected. And the dumplings?? WOW — they’re the star for a reason.
Definitely coming back!“

“This is a place that looks simple when you enter but offers amazing food. Their menu is simple and everything is handmade. You do need to wait a bit since every dish is made to order. It’s worth it. We contemplated going back just an hour after to have some again.“

“TLDR; Warm and welcoming staff, good, fresh food. Worth the money.
Staff is very welcoming and friendly. They also take in account allergies. I ordered a menu item which the chef chooses a selection for me, the staff asked me if I had allergies to avoid giving me an item that would contain it. They also took in account the fact that I don't like seafood. This place was almost empty, which makes no sense in my opinion. Food is served hot and fresh. It’s very good. Unironically some of the best dumplings/bao I’ve had in my life and I’m not exaggerating.“

“Great quality Chinese food. I came here expecting a filling meal for a low price and I got one. Don’t miss out on the sticky rice and bbq pork. Just be mindful the roasted duck has many bones which was pesky to eat but it was very fatty and juicy. Workers were very nice and were patient with me trying to e transfer since it is cash only and no seating only takeout. Definitely coming back here again. 9/10“

Tonight my dasher forgot one of the bag of my order. After checking with a call to the restaurant, they gladly offered me to come drop it themselves!! Even offered me a drink to compensate the wait.

“Loved the food and the prices are reasonable too. The waitress was very attentive. The food came out very quickly after ordering. The only issue was that they take payment only in cash. But there is an ATM machine inside to withdraw cash, $2 withdrawal fee so that issue is solved too.
Definitely will be coming back again 🙂“

“Food was topp, got the salt and pepper calamari (10/10), pig intestines (9/10) a bit too oily, and beef & broccoli (8/10).
The staff was friendly and insisted we didn’t tip because we got takeout which I found nice. Also the pug is super cute and friendly.“

“Fung Shing has been serving the community for 50 years, and I can’t help but feel a little envious of Montrealers for having such a historic Chinese restaurant. The food is amazing and the service feels so friendly and welcoming. I saw many customers talking with the servers like old friends—clearly longtime regulars who have been coming here since they were kids.
It’s more than just a restaurant; it’s part of the city’s dining culture. I was genuinely moved by the experience.“

“Same chef after 39 years & still the tastiest Chinese food we know of in Montreal or Brossard. Lots of traditional recipes plus the North American favourites. My father used to have their chicken feet when he brought us. They don’t serve that anymore. Our favourites are: Cantonese rice, spicy shrimp, lobster, barbeque duck, and chicken with assorted stir-fry vegetables with chef’s XO sauce. My kids’ godparents loved their General Tao, chow mein and Spring rolls. I feel like/suspect that people who wrote bad reviews about VIP didn’t actually eat here or got their knickers in a knot reading about a food inspector’s report.
The chef makes great tasting, healthy food and is clearly made with - love, care and a lot of experience.“

“Excellent value for money for a dinner for two at Vieux Saint-Lambert.
The portions are extremely generous, and the food is delicious and fresh.
We were impressed by the quality of the dishes, which were perfectly seasoned, with authentic flavors that took us on a journey. The waitress, although alone and visibly overwhelmed by the traffic, did an excellent job of serving us with a smile and a lot of kindness. Despite the challenge of managing many customers at once, she gave her best, and we were very well received and served.
