The spring rolls very very fresh and the herbs were nice. The spicey citronnelle soup had a delicious broth.

Unfortunately the pho broth was very light, there was not much flavour to the standard raw beef soup.“

“Went there twice and was pleasantly surprised. I had the vegan Vietnamese crepe the first time & the vegan soup the second time. It was delicious each time.

They have an open kitchen so you can see, hear, smell your good being made which is part of the experience.

“The menu has a great variety of traditional dishes. I ordered the Phở đặc biệt (Special Beef Noodle Soup), and it was one of the best I’ve had outside of Vietnam. “I ordered chicken and pork sausage banh mi. Very tasty. The sandwich is also bigger than the typical banh mi. I was full after only one, which is not usually the case with other places.

There was only 2 staff, so service was quite long - 15 minutes.m, but there were 6 customers before. I suggest if possible to order in advance before pick up.

“Great neighborhood restaurant. I have been passing by since I moved into the area and was not disappointed once I decided to step in.

Our meal started with the imperial rolls (cha gio) and the papaya salad (without beef). The rolls were in my opinion the star of the night; generously filled and simply delicious. These are the imperial rolls you always hope for but rarely get. The papaya salad was fresh and well dressed - not spicy as their Thai counterpart usually is.

We followed our meal with bahn xeo - a crispy Vietnamese omelette/crêpe that was filled with chicken and a generous amount of bean sprouts, and Bun Cha Hanoi. The airy and crispy texture of the crepe is addictive to say the least and very enjoyable. The grilled bun cha meat was also very tasty!

In sum, Y Lan is a great restaurant where you can be sure to enjoy a great meal with great service.
