“We love eating here! Great casalinga food!“
“A real hole in the wall! You need to walk through a lobby and it’s tucked away in the corner
I got a huge breakfast sandwich for 6$ (tax included) and had great conversations with the owners who have been running the place for over 15 years
Stumbled upon it because I happened to be in the area but is obviously a neighbourhood favourite
Will definitely be back for their weekly specials
Note: Cash only“

“I like this place, but the WASHROOM IS NOT OPEN TO CUSTOMERS... and that is seriously not okay. When I come to sit and eat and drink food I am purchasing here, I don't think I should be expected to walk to the bathroom in Westmount Park. I do not want to give a non-recommendation review as it's been a rough time for businesses and the food and drinks at Mouton Noir are good - but if the bathroom policy remains in place, I don't see myself becoming a regular. There is no government rule that states that Cafes and restaurants have to keep their washrooms closed for customers.“

“Adjoined photos of their bathroom is unfair to Cafe Myriade. I was impressed with its cleanliness and decor in a very limited space. Cafe Myriade is the antithesis of Cafe Olympico virtually next door where the millennials and Gen z congregate for glitter and coffee. Myriade is subdued with good coffee, responsive surface and chill music . Definitely a place to share time with a good friend. Didn't try the pastries but 3 out of four patrons indulged in their sweets.“

“Started last Friday’s day off with a stop at the amazing Cafe dei Campi. Fully veganized Italian pastries and small pizzas. Soups and salads too but I stuck to the Italian specialties. Hazelnut filled tortellini melt in your mouth pastries. Amarettis and Biscotti. The essential Italian cafe’s big espresso machine which makes the perfect double espresso with the layer of crema and their cappuccino with perfect foam. Accompanied with a flaky delicious cornetto, it felt like heaven. Much chatting with my friend and a necessary second cornetto and espresso completed our visit by closing time. We had lucked out with a table. Had a great rest of the day that right from the start, arriving at the cafe there was a couple with their little boy wearing a Metallica t-shirt. Of course I had to comment, he was so cute and responsive to my speaking to him. And found out he’s a true fan of heavy metal music, this beautiful 4 year old boy named Sandro. So the day was pretty perfect.🖤“

“My friend had this cafe on her list of places to visit in Montreal, I checked out the reviews and now i can understand.
One of the very few places in this city that has amazing everything in one place; service, atmosphere, food, and drinks!
No words can describe our experience. I recommend you to go and check it out yourself and thank me later 🤍“

“Toujours un plaisir de s’arrêter à ce charmant café hiver comme l’été. Un endroit sympathique et chaleureux qui nous transporte, le temps d’un café. Au pays des Gina Lolobrigida, Fabio Cannavaro. Jarmo Trulli. Federico Fellini et Luciano Pavarotti pour ne nommer que ceux-ci. Que de mieux qu’un cappuccino accompagné d’un panettone Merci la vie.“

“This establishment is a pleasure to visit; lovely ambience & friendly service The coffee is delicious, made with fresh, quality beans & prep by trained staff which makes all the difference. I received great advice on selecting coffee beans to gift to a friend (which they put in a cute little bag so I didn’t have to wrap it 😁). When you want to treat yourself to great coffee (& pastry), this is the place to go.“

“I didn’t see any blue wolves when I was here but I’m used to being disappointed by places that are named something silly and then don’t have that silly thing! Just like when I went to the greasy spoon but the spoons they gave us were actually sparkling! Not with grease
Anyways good sandwiches good matcha what more can a girl ask for? Once I took a meeting here and this table next to me started talking really loudly and I guess it was kind of my fault for taking a meeting there but also u didn’t have to start screaming when I’m literally sitting right there holding my ears so I could hear my meeting but whatever it’s a Public space“

“I had an incredible experience at this café. The cappuccino was simply amazing—smooth with perfect consistency and a beautifully foamy top. The light dusting of chocolate was a nice touch that made it even better. The chocolate croissant was fresh and buttery, the perfect pairing with my coffee. I also loved the thoughtful gesture of being brought a glass of iced water alongside everything.
One of the highlights was the unique and pleasant classical music playing inside. It really added to the cozy, relaxing atmosphere. Special shout-out to Alex, the nicest barista ever! Their service made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping by!“

“Great coffee, warm simple beautiful pieces of art on the wall of the sun which fills the windows for a useful large spaced collaborative work dining room space.
But the best part of the café is the team of smiling Baristas who have fun all day long, who play quality music and who make the whole place shine brighter than the sun which tries to penetrate through the windows
Thanks Leo“

“L'endroit est vraiment sympa, la nourriture était bonne et à un prix abordable. Le service ne se fait pas à table, pas évident donc de savoir à quel moment c'est bien notre commande qui est prête. Néanmoins, la déco est bien choisie et le rapport qualité/prix des repas est vraiment bon. J'y retournerai sans aucun doute lors de mon prochain passage à Montréal :)“

“Small shop offering sandwiches, quiche, salads, baked goods, coffee & so much more.
I tried out the spinach quiche, salad and some sweets.
Three color pasta salad was fresh, creamy and juicy with the cherry tomatoes. The salad wasn’t heavy and it was actually quite fulfilling.
Normally you would assume a chocolate cake to be heavy but this one wasn’t the case. It was light and airy with just the right amount of sweetness.
The almond croissant and chocolatines were both so good, fresh, flaky and sweet!“

“The sweet heart of Westmount
If K. insisted on seeing me this Friday at Café Bazin without having freshened up or changed, it was because there must have been one or more very serious subjects to discuss. She was waiting for me there, Bible in hand, eyes half-closed, wearing a pink shirt, in complete contrast to the retired and professional clientele who frequented the place. I greet her without sitting down, because before getting into the agenda, I had another matter to deal with: that of the menu. I open the door and discover a beautiful space in keeping with the heavy, refined ornamental trend: white and wood. I return with the lunch and dinner menu in hand, she chooses the Bazin breakfast at $13.50. I take note of it and come back with a bill for the Bazin breakfast and… the grilled cheese sandwich ($14.50), the Parisienne gnocchi ($21.00), a matcha and chocolate latte white ($6.75) and two pastries to reserve for later ($6.50 each). Faced with his disbelief, I justified myself: “It’s supposed to be a very good restaurant.”
The number 18 placed in plain sight in front of us, we get down to (more) serious things and the table is set with an anxiety-inducing request: “promise me you won't get angry”. Thunder ! What could possibly make me angry? It can only be something pretty terrible, thank you.
" When is your birthday ? »
I burst out laughing and she, confused:
“Me, if my friends forget my birthday, I get angry.” Okay, so I'll try not to forget. By the way, what date is it again?
I will ignore the other two subjects which, due to their sensitive nature, should in no way appear in a gastronomic story on the internet, and move directly to the appreciation of the dishes. Overall, these are simple preparations, but well executed. The sandwich contained melting cheese between two thick, crispy slices of toasted butter. Parisian-style gnocchi, unlike their Italian counterpart made from potatoes, are wheat-based and pan-fried, with pieces of bacon, zucchini and sprinkled with cheese. I seem to like the melting flesh of the Italian version more. Finally, the Bazin breakfast was traditional, but traditional well done and above all, affordable.
Personally, it was the pastries that seemed sensational to me, starting with the small round pistachio cake topped with rich cream, then the sesame cake whose taste was as pleasant as its appearance. This is where the Bazin café showed all its know-how.
However, my stay would not have been as pleasant, had it not been for the employee behind the counter, kind, attentive, cheerful, who was even kind enough to bring us a bag to put our leftovers in while we She wasn't required to. Taking advantage of his arrival, I greeted his affability by indicating that I would like to return to the establishment to enjoy other desserts. To which she replied that, on that eventual day, she would take care of serving us herself and that, if she were not to be present, that she would have to ask her boss to telephone her and "have the girl who smiles." I neglected to ask his name, but it might be helpful to mention his Asian ancestry so you can identify him in one of my photos. If you see it, you will understand what good service is.
In short, Café Bazin offers a welcoming setting for your formal and informal meetings and a quality culinary experience and, even when the sun is at its peak, you can find yourself perfectly in the shade on the terrace. I would have no problem bringing someone visiting Montreal to immerse themselves in the life of the Westmount neighborhood.
Vegetarian options: Avocado toast? French toast? A shakshuka? Finally, there are some good options.
Parking: I was lucky to find free parking on Burton Avenue. Otherwise, it can be complicated to find a paid place in Victoria.
Kid-friendliness: Yes! Bench seats and comfortable terrac“
