“Juncal Mexican Grill & Bar in Cumberland, RI, is truly a hidden gem!! Everything was homemade and delicious!! The “hot sauce” is a must! The drinks were refreshing and mixed just right. The guava moscow mule is a must try! The service was amazing too. Everyone was so friendly and attentive—they really made us feel at home. The warm churros are served with hot fudge and caramel… absolutely delicious. If you’re craving authentic Mexican food, great drinks, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe, definitely give Juncal a try!“

“Woonsocket is definitely lacking in good places to get food so thank goodness for this spot because it's delicious. Also cheap. The green salsa is perfect. I usually go for tacos but occasionally get the burrito, there's no going wrong either way.“

“The food was really great, and includes free chips and salsa upon your arrival (we loved the salsa that came with it). Our burritos were delicious (one pastor, one carne asada) and our 3yo loved her chicken quesadilla (as did we!). They had apple juice for the little one, and jarritos for us (tamarind and mandarin) but I believe they’re working on getting a liquor license. We went around 4pm on a Sunday, so pretty quiet. Good service, good prices! I hope this place sticks around!“

“Ok. They have great margaritas, especially the tamarind one. Their staff needs better training however. Like bringing water and coming back to table after serving to check if anything else needed. Food reasonably good (a 4), but not great. Barbados burrito (huge) and pork tacos this time. Liked shrimp appetizer in past.“

“We were the first wedding Sol de Mexico had ever catered. We were also the first event of 140 people they had ever served. They did absolutely amazing! Everyone loved the buffet style food they provided, and services of cleaning, filling water, and serving the food! The staff was friendly and helpful. Brenda, the manager, was amazing throughout the whole process! Her and I had good communication to make sure everything went as planned. They put a lot of resources into this event and ensuring it worked out properly. They are such a great staff and restaurant. It was my husband and I's first date spot and they graciously agreed to cater our wedding knowing they had not done that before. We are so grateful for Sol and their AMAZING food. We love Sol and would recommend the restaurant to anyone and their catering to anyone! They did great!“

“Our second stop on our Saturday Taco crawl took us to Maiz, the Wayland Square location.The shop was decked out for the Halloween season. Inside the place reminds you of a Mexican cantina. Brightly colored flags adorning the ceiling contrasted the sand colored wall.

Our server was very nice, letting us know what our options were for the fight. I chose to upgrade mine to pastor tacos as they are my favorite type. My friends got a Birria taco, a shrimp taco and the carnitas taco.

It didn't take long before our food arrived. Fresh and hot, we quickly dived in. The pastor was flavorful, a slight char taste that made the whole thing sing a symphony for my taste buds. The shrimp taco was particularly good as well. The shrimp was succulent and the addition of the pineapple took it to the next level. The Birria meat was tender and juicy. The carnitas was a solid choice as well. Their homemade hot sauce, mild or spicy, on the side. All washed down with ice cold Mexican coke.

Another taco spot in the books as a place to return. We only live 9 minutes away so it's a sure thing for us!“

“Another day, another chance for more tacos with the RI Food Fight's TacoMania. This time we started with Diego's. As it was a Saturday, no tables were available from reservations but we were able to grab a seat at the bar. The space is open, dark. A blend of Mexican homage and industrial brick. An open kitchen gives you the chance to watch your meal be prepared in full view. Our bartender, Greer was super friendly and balanced attentiveness. She is detail oriented and was very accommodating. She quickly took care of our drinks and got our food order in ASAP. They offered a limited menu for TacoMania and I chose the carne option. It came out in a crunchy blue corn tortilla. After a squeeze of lime, I dug in. The crunch was everything you wanted it to be and more. The beef with queso fundido made this a slight messy but overall delicious taco. We got the cornbread souffle to share and it was outstanding. The souffle itself was savory and very corn forward, as opposed to the sweeter cornbread you see in the south. They add a touch of something sweet to balance it out. My friend had the shrimp chimichirri tacos and they said they were a 10/10. So glad to find another tasty spot in the TacoMania trail!“

“I ordered some dishes for an upcoming and shower and while there decided to get a meal to go to try it for the first time. I got the fried chicken it came with rice, beans and a macaroni salad. Everything was absolutely delicious and was a very generous serving. The staff couldn't be any nicer or more accommodating. I have no doubt the food I ordered for the shower will be equally amazing. I'll definitely come back and be a little more adventurous in choosing a meal but good fried chicken just sounded so appealing and most restaurants only offer fried boneless.“

“Went to Taqueria Lupita for the first time yesterday. We ordered tacos to-go (Al Pastor & Suedero). The tacos were delicious. Perfect really. Our hosts were warm and friendly and apologized for not being able to serve us at a table inside due the pandemic. I honestly can’t wait for life to return to normal so I can return to this gem of a restaurant for the whole experience (including Sangria). “I order on doordash often: they always read and apply my modifications and it's SO GOOD as a result..many restaurants that are otherwise good ignore requests like 'no cilatro' or 'no ketchup', but Samayoa always does me right. Great birria, great fries, great quesadillas, great burritos, great in general. Central falls Mexican is always good, and samayoa is the great Mexican that also cares about your requested modifications. Thank God. Love em.“

“I picked up a plate from Auntie's House, and it did not disappoint. The meal included rice, well-seasoned chicken, corn, lettuce, tomato, onions, and jalapeños, along with a side of sweet plantains. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The portion was generous, and at $18, it felt like a great deal. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the plantains were sweet and tender, and the whole plate was satisfying without being heavy. The ambiance was nice, with good music in the background. The tables are clean, so I have no complaints. I would definitely order again.“
