“Juncal Mexican Grill & Bar in Cumberland, RI, is truly a hidden gem!! Everything was homemade and delicious!! The “hot sauce” is a must! The drinks were refreshing and mixed just right. The guava moscow mule is a must try! The service was amazing too. Everyone was so friendly and attentive—they really made us feel at home. The warm churros are served with hot fudge and caramel… absolutely delicious. If you’re craving authentic Mexican food, great drinks, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe, definitely give Juncal a try!“

I have yet to order the same thing twice, and everything has been delicious! We just used them as a caterer for an event and it was flawless, the portions were plentiful and everything was SO GOOD! They made it effortless, they set everything up for us and everyone had been raving about it! Bandidos will be the first place I go to for all of my catering needs in the future!“

“The food was really great, and includes free chips and salsa upon your arrival (we loved the salsa that came with it). Our burritos were delicious (one pastor, one carne asada) and our 3yo loved her chicken quesadilla (as did we!). They had apple juice for the little one, and jarritos for us (tamarind and mandarin) but I believe they’re working on getting a liquor license. We went around 4pm on a Sunday, so pretty quiet. Good service, good prices! I hope this place sticks around!“

“Another day, another chance for more tacos with the RI Food Fight's TacoMania. This time we started with Diego's. As it was a Saturday, no tables were available from reservations but we were able to grab a seat at the bar. The space is open, dark. A blend of Mexican homage and industrial brick. An open kitchen gives you the chance to watch your meal be prepared in full view. Our bartender, Greer was super friendly and balanced attentiveness. She is detail oriented and was very accommodating. She quickly took care of our drinks and got our food order in ASAP. They offered a limited menu for TacoMania and I chose the carne option. It came out in a crunchy blue corn tortilla. After a squeeze of lime, I dug in. The crunch was everything you wanted it to be and more. The beef with queso fundido made this a slight messy but overall delicious taco. We got the cornbread souffle to share and it was outstanding. The souffle itself was savory and very corn forward, as opposed to the sweeter cornbread you see in the south. They add a touch of something sweet to balance it out. My friend had the shrimp chimichirri tacos and they said they were a 10/10. So glad to find another tasty spot in the TacoMania trail!“

Lots of options for proteins, toppings, and side dishes. Tastes great; just a bit pricey for the portion sizes. That’s just Pat’s Place for you though lol.“

“The staff was amazing and I didn't even mean to order from the Bellingham restaurant. I mistakenly placed an online order for the wrong town. I called to cancel the order and the staff instead kept the order in line and just transferred it themselves to the town we were in. They made things so easy and it was a Saturday evening. “I ordered some dishes for an upcoming and shower and while there decided to get a meal to go to try it for the first time. I got the fried chicken it came with rice, beans and a macaroni salad. Everything was absolutely delicious and was a very generous serving. The staff couldn't be any nicer or more accommodating. I have no doubt the food I ordered for the shower will be equally amazing. I'll definitely come back and be a little more adventurous in choosing a meal but good fried chicken just sounded so appealing and most restaurants only offer fried boneless.“

“I order on doordash often: they always read and apply my modifications and it's SO GOOD as a result..many restaurants that are otherwise good ignore requests like 'no cilatro' or 'no ketchup', but Samayoa always does me right. Great birria, great fries, great quesadillas, great burritos, great in general. Central falls Mexican is always good, and samayoa is the great Mexican that also cares about your requested modifications. Thank God. Love em.“

“Went to Taqueria Lupita for the first time yesterday. We ordered tacos to-go (Al Pastor & Suedero). The tacos were delicious. Perfect really. Our hosts were warm and friendly and apologized for not being able to serve us at a table inside due the pandemic. I honestly can’t wait for life to return to normal so I can return to this gem of a restaurant for the whole experience (including Sangria). “Local RI chain that serves great Mexican fast food.

My colleagues from Providence have been telling me to try Baja’s for months. According to them, it’s basically an upgraded Chipotle with a much bigger menu. Drove down for a late-night meal, and since this location by Brown is the only one open past midnight, it was still pretty busy even on a Sunday.

The first thing that caught my eye was the chimichangas. I haven’t had one since my college days, so I had to get it. Not as fat or indulgent as the one I used to get in NC, but the protein options here were much better. They go lighter on the rice and beans by default, so it didn’t hit the same level of comfort-food fullness.

Also grabbed a steak burrito bowl, and that was exactly what my colleagues meant. Fresh toppings, good sauces, and most importantly, steak that’s freshly grilled. Not the dry pre-made stuff you get at most chains.
