We went to this restaurant at around 8pm on a Saturday evening just for drinks and appetizers. Our waitress was very pleasant and the theme of the restaurant was great. They had a solo guy singing some cover songs at the front of the restaurant which was quite enjoyable as well. This place was ok for what it was. It was the best chowder we had in Newport. My husband had it at every restaurant. Don't even ask me how much weight I gained on this trip. Anyway....Quahog's chowder is superb!!!!!! We also shared a boring but large $7 garden salad..nice presentation considering we were in pretty much of a dive and we shared the fish and chips. I can't give it Five Stars because the help has sometimes been a bit unprofessional. But I get past that as they are often mobbed in the summertime. I've been usually very happy with the food. The Oysters are fresh and the meals are substantial and very tasty. The service however, has not been consistent and sometimes right from the front door, they are a minor disaster. I like this place and always want to return.
