“The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and responsive to the customers.BUT I am deeply concerned about the extremely low pay that they are paid! Until this issue is addressed in a fair & equitable way acceptable to the staff, I Will NOT buy any further food from any of their locations.“

“I came to the Nerdy Bakery with a highly unique idea for a cake for my 2025 wedding. My husband and I are both anime nerds and that was already being reflected in other areas of our preparations. So I came in with the idea for a Pokémon based cake that would be a round center with cupcakes around it. Not just willing but delighted by this unique challenge, Anita and the other staff of the Nerdy Bakery went above and beyond to communicate with us and captured our vision in every last delicious detail. The final cake in the hall at our wedding absolutely blew us out of the water. It could not have been more perfect. I could not recommend the Nerdy Bakery more for their kindness, their communication and their commitment. I’m still getting compliments on how delicious the cakes were. We tried the classic and pan au chocolate which were made to perfection. Airy and buttery, right proportion of chocolate.

I had a lot of questions and he answered them kindly and informed about so many items on the menu. There is an option for everybody! They have a good amount of high chairs where you can sit and eat. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai; it was fresh, hot and had a nice kick to it. For a drink, I ordered the strawberry passion fruit slush with lychee jelly. So good! I cannot wait to return!“

“They took away the “sourdough stick” which was their sourdough baguette named in a way that made it hard to tell what it was. I myself accidentally got a regular French baguette on multiple occasions when I actually wanted a sourdough one because I consider it a baguette. I think this is why it was selling less.

A bunch of other unique items like the walnut raisin loaf and pan de mie were also removed while nothing new was added. As others have said the place can feel a bit rote and it’s not mindblowingly amazing but it is the best in the area and solid for what it is. That being said, I have fewer reasons to go there now. Too bad.

I worked at a successful Boulangerie in a different city and they had a different approach. I can’t help but think if this place brought in the croissants and pastries from the one I worked at it would be even more popular and loved.

“12/23/25—I decided to start calling around looking for pumpkin pies because my usual bakery has turned pie ordering into something that feels like planning a wedding. I swear you need to place an order six months in advance, sign papers, and maybe an offering of peace !
Anyway, I remembered reading somewhere that the same bakery had a location on Chalkstone Ave, so I called and asked, very cautiously, about pumpkin pie availability.
Them: “Yes, we have some now.”
Me: “Do I need to order ahead of time?”
Them: “No.”

As someone who is always on the move, I don’t always remember to pre-order baked goods half a year in advance. The Cranston location makes getting one pie feel like winning the lottery. So I got in the car, drove over, and secured myself a pumpkin pie like it was treasure.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? We will be happily munching on this excellent pie. And let me just say— I don’t even like pumpkin pie… but I like this one. It’s that good.
I was in and out fast, too. I went early because I can only imagine what the lines will look like on the 24th. I plan ahead sometimes—just not six months ahead.
Anyway, thank you to the wonderful people on Chalkstone Ave. You saved Christmas dessert and my sanity. 🥧✨“
