“We arrived and got an excellent reserved table. We were celebrating a 50 th anniversary and a 78 th birthday. The food choices were excellent. Our server was fabulous. Everyone loved their meal. Our table was surprised by receiving the largest hot fudge brownie sundae any of us had ever seen. It was a very special and memorable time!!”

“We ordered 5 different tacos and burritos as a sampler plate this weekend for guests; not only was each delicious, but the seasoning and other fresh ingredients in each taco and burrito complemented the main ingredient (fish, shrimp, chicken, pork or beef). NOT a place where every taco and burrito gets tossed together with the same ingredients and seasonings. Bonus: the take out containers are 100% recyclable . “I took my wife there today for lunch for the first time. We made the 30-minute trek and we were not disappointed. I had Bluto's Chicken Sandwich and my wife had the Chickpea Wrap. OUTSTANDING! I would recommend to anyone looking for a good Vegan spot 👍”

“We had another wonderful meal at The Food Shack tonight. My dad and I shared the nachos which were superb and my daughter enjoyed her rice bowl. And don’t forget a side of plantains! Also they serve local beer now which is a bonus. You need to eat here!”

“We enjoyed having breakfast at this wonderful place while in Newport, RI. The people who own it and those who work there are AMAZING, friendly, and take the time to talk to customers while keeping service at the top of their list. They (from the kitchen to the front door) look like they love working there and have created a loving family environment. Of course, the line was out the door and down the street, but that was okay because everyone enjoyed visiting each other. There is just one warning, the portions are enormous. You know when my husband can't finish it, it's a lot. 🤣”

The service was good and the staff very friendly.

The chicken quality was excellent, but I would say for me it’s over seasoned and that makes the outside breading hard and somewhat dry. You can overcome this by adding more Dave’s sauce and pickles, but overall it wasn’t anything super special.

Fries are a bit boring, just basic crinkle fries with some kind of old bay seasoning.

For me it doesn’t rank above many other main stream Chicken shops. I Would not make a special trip for it, but would go back again.”

“Today we made a pilgrimage to Basil Yu’s restaurant, Yagi Noodles. My son happened to see that Basil had become a successful restaurateur while he was watching one of Guy Fieri’s shows. We had become acquainted with Basil when we were all involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Manchester NH. We were disappointed to discover that Basil wasn’t at the restaurant, however we got over it when we found out it was due to a commitment to a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation. Basil, You weren’t there, but your food is delicious. You get the Merit Badge! You weren’t there, but your staff is spectacular! You get the Merit Badge! We wish you continued success!
