“Visited this place with my bf!! Very good food!! Was greeted by a lovely host who gave us a menu to order being that we were ordering to go!! Then we ended up placing our order with the very nice bartender behind the counter. Not even 5mins he acknowledged us so we just ended up placing our order with him. Food came out fast and correct as well. Will be returning!!!! With or without my bf lol !!!“

“I’m a Texas gal living here in Charleston and I’m particular about my Tacos! Had some friends stay at an Airbnb across the street and it was convenient so I finally went. I’ve now been twice in less than a week. Everything is so fresh. Well flavored. Delicious. Cocktails are lovely. Staff was helpful and attentive both times. Casual, fun, and yummy for my tummy! Go!“

“Visiting from Lexington, SC and stopped for lunch. The food is delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere is perfect. Althea took care of us and we will ask for her next visit. She was efficient, personable and knowledgeable about the menu. I highly recommend Mex 1 Coastal Cantina. Perfect setting for families, couples or if you are just wanting to sit at the bar and have a drink. Picture of fajitas with chicken.“

“The food was typical Mexican food. The queso was a bit watery but still had great flavor. For tourists, it's hard to know which door to go into. Only the "out" door is labeled. Overall, it was a good experience.
Kid-friendliness: There were multiple kid menu options. Typical food and Mexican food options also.“
“I didn’t even eat here. I was having a tough time with a boot on my car outside, and an employee named Finn came out to help me. He was incredibly supportive, all while I was having an anxiety attack. No one made him do that. but if this restaurant employ as a kid like that, then they’re five stars in my book. Unlike that wine store next-door.“

“We visited tonight and absolutely loved it. The decor is spectacular. Servers really hustle and the food was excellent. Best enchiladas in mole I've ever had. Only 2 recommendations... deeper salsa dishes, and some sound absorbers needed on the ceiling. Was a bit loud, and would be difficult to have a conversation with another couple. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood. See you soon Catrina's!“

“I could not recommend this place more. The food was fantastic, the drinks were phenomenal- this is the first $16 margarita I ever said was worth it. Don't let the location scare you off: this is some genuine Mexican cuisine with all the flavors. Victor took care of us and was super nice and very accommodating.

“This is the absolute BEST in CHARLESTON! 🌺 🌊 Me and my family love this place! Great service, food, and environment! It was so great there, I thought the check was going to come back so EXPENSIVE!! But NO, the payment was so quick and small! (No extra fees either) My small family of 3 ate HUGE meals for $30! And it was so good! We HAD TO tip them $40 for all of the good work they did 👏! I was so impressed by their food and service, that I HAD to visit Charleston AGAIN Becuase I loved their food 🍱! RECOMMEND 💯! 1000/10“

“Best enchiladas I have had in my life and my family is Hispanic. Absolutely amazing, I am just mad it took me 4 years living in Charleston to find this place. We drove from Moncks Corner and will do it everytime now. Thank you thank you for the amazing fresh made food!“

“Had gotten 2 chicken kaysadeyas and like 8 margs. Tonya (my wife) drove the golf cart home but gawd damn I was zooted. I threw up on the way home but it was totally worth the $67. I love cholula going down but coming back up is not yummy tasty or fun“

“I really like the food, especially the tacos, and the chips and salsa offered for free, and nice selection of cold beer on tap.
The music is too loud for me, and sitting at the bar was a little cold with the other side open to outside. There's a great deal during happy hour and service is excellent.“

“The chips and salsa were amazing. Both the shrimp salad and rice bowl definitely had room for improvement(tiny shrimp). Both of us were pretty disappointed in our dishes, but would be curious to try other things given the salsa and drinks. The beverages were delicious and fresh.“
