“Amazing place. Food is well-priced and tastes amazing. Do be aware that there aren't places to sit, however (aside from a bench of two outside). Nevertheless, I have zero complaints. I've only ever been here once, but when I do swing around Five Points again, I will be sure to stop by.“

“In town for a baseball series and found this gem to take my son, who loves sushi. The ambience was great, from the music, to the decor and the waitress dressed in a kimono. She was very attentive and charming. Loved that the meal started off with tea! My husband who is kind of a sushi snob and likes his place, also said it was good, so it must have been. I had shrimp teriyaki and it was very good. When in town again, I would definitely go back. Highly recommend.“

“Sumo Sushi & Hibachi was recommended to me by a local while I was in the area. I was thoroughly impressed. Small space in a little strip in front of the Walmart, with limited seating for dining but still can hold about 20-30 people.
I ordered to go and was very easy to place. The clerk kept me informed. Did have to wait a little bit, but that was expected as they were busy. However, they were completing orders at a good pace.
I ordered a steak/shrimp/chicken hibachi plate and a sushi roll. The sushi was very good and fresh 10 out of 10 would recommend. I give the hibachi plate a 4.5 out of 5. The chicken and shrimp were cooked perfectly, steak was a little overcooked but still had good flavor. The rice was seasoned perfectly!

“Gigantic portions, when I came to pick up my order they made sure an extra time everything was in the bag, the food tasted fresh, was hot, and was really good in my opinion. Also it was super easy to place a pickup order over the phone :) I definitely will go back to this place to try their other food beyond just their miso soup and hibachi steak bowl (which was great, the steak and veggies were especially good with their white sauce).“

“Frank was amazing. Very friendly and high energy. We came at 9:15 and were the only ones seating in the hibachi area. He came out and gave a show like it was a full room. Very friendly and not too much. Allowed us space to talk and enjoy dinner as well. He made our night. Food was amazing and fresh. Tried this different style of noodles and was pleasantly surprised.“

“i’m normally reluctant to getting mall court food cause i usually think it’s been sitting out for a while. but Sarku chicken and rice with steam veggies blew me away. i ordered via door dash. first the chicken and rice was fresh as was the steamed veggies. their food must turn over meaning a lot of people must be going there cause it was super fresh. the spring and chicken rolls were yummy as well. i do wish they had an option to buy more teriyaki sauce on the dash app cause it was really good. but that was a minor issue overall really good and more so healthy will order again.“

“Very good food! The only hibachi I like to eat around here! Sometimes their phone doesn’t work, so you have to come in and order and wait for your food. Other than that they have pretty good service. They switched from the bigger portions of the white sauce to smaller portions. Atmosphere is pretty good. They will modify your order perfect for you, if you’d like.“

“My husband & I have been dining here since 2017, was actually one of our first dates. Ms. Kim is always polite and greets us. Mr. Oz (I call him) at the sushi bar makes the best rolls, Beltline roll was eaten. But whoever made this plate gave the most beautiful presentation. I know the Hibachi guy that reminds us of they guy from “The Hangover” movie is always entertaining, we brought our hole family that took up two tables back in January. It’s a great spot, no need to dress up too fancy, but I’d like to see it get a “facelift” or remodel. Or first get rid of the carpet. I know the plumbing on Beltline has its smell from Casa Linda, to JR Cash down to SATO & that could be the City’s fault. I usually try to avoid the bathrooms in all 3 locations. Not the businesses fault. We enjoy SATO & will be back ❤️“

“The fried rice was greasy and the wings were old and dried out, as if they were cooked the day before. Terrible food. I would have taken it back for a refund if I stayed closer to restaurant. I had to throw the wings away, too hard to eat. That was not fresh cooked chicken or rice. I ordered in restaurant and my order was brought to me in less than 5 minutes (old food). This is the first time I have had s problem with their food.“

“Parking was a little difficult especially off Main Street. We were sat immediately. They do have 2 sides: one where they cook in front of you or sitting in the dining area and they cook to order. We’ve been on both sides and I prefer the dining area ( food taste better). The bang bang shrimp was delicious…love the tempura batter, very plump, and fresh. I’m not a salad person and the only dressing was ginger, it was ok, and I enjoyed the clear soup- very flavorful and better than ur typical miso soup. The trio with the ny strip was yummy, however I didn’t like my lobster minced- it takes away from the experience of eating lobster. But I still gave it a five bc the food didn’t taste like rank oil, it was fresh and tasty.“

“We have been regularly visiting relatives in Columbia. I believe we have tried every Chinese buffet in the area. Magnolia Buffet is decidedly better! We noticed that there weren't as much variety as other buffets, but the quality of the food was good. in particular, we though the sushi was good. “I have been to several different locations. This was my first time going to this location. They had a drive thru which really intrigued me.i ordered my food through the drive through. I ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki. It came which vegetables and fried rice. The chicken was very flavorful drenched in teriyaki sauce. It was fresh.the shrimp was really good. Steamed with flavor. The vegetables were fresh aswell from zucchini to broccoli. It literally took me five minutes to get my food. I was happy about that being that i went through drive thru i anticipated a longer wait time. The overall experience was good. I can’t wait to go back and order from them again. Due to their speedy service and fresh food items. The meal also came with 2 white sauces. The silverware was in the bag so i didn’t have to ask for any additional items. Can’t wait to go back“

“Me and my family were coming from a graduation and we were first to arrive as soon as the restaurant opened. We were a party of 20. Our waitress was Summer and she was definitely a ray of sunshine. Summer was very patient as we decided what we wanted to eat . She offered suggestions from the menu and she was mindful of the people with shellfish allergies and vegans in the party. The food was pretty good too. The prices were good and the food was plentiful . I ate leftovers for 3days“

They pushed the cut wings as if they didn't have whole wings. The problem is the pricing. I stated again I just wanted chicken wings and fried rice. Again, they push the cut wings as if they didn't have what I asked for. So I get to the restaurant. The first thing I noticed was the exact thing I asked for on the menu. “Great hibachi style meals to go. Chicken teriyaki is plenty good, with rice, zucchini and onions. It comes with one yum yum sauce, but I spend the extra for a second sauce cup. I've had a steak bowl that's also got tasty square chunks of steak in it but comes without vegetables. Really can't go wrong here. Repeat customer.“
