“I'm not sure anything I say will do this place justice. We heard about it, tried it, and glad we found it on the first day they were open the week we were here. It will be our lunch stop the rest of the week. We had chicken, shrimp, hush puppies, and the best onion rings I have ever ate my entire life which pretty much applies to everything else as well. If you are on Daufuskie Thursday, Friday, or Saturday this is a must stop. Trust me you will not regret it.”

“aside from Dafuskie Island being downright exhilarating, you have this spectacular coffee shop attached to history. We loved being able to take a step back in time and see all the neat little flyers and articles they had posted in the coffee shop, but the best part was the friendly service. We ordered 2 caramel frappes with a lemon and blueberry cake, and it was by far the best we have ever had. we have traveled to many places and we had no idea that the number one coffee spot would be on a secluded island with such down to earth people. this is a must have if you ever get the chance to visit this amazing place. 5 stars isn't enough!”

“We ate at On Deck Diner for dinner Wednesday, and it was incredible! We tried all of the featured entrees- Prime Rib, Mahi mahi, and scallops and shrimp, and all were absolutely perfect! We ate lunch there a couple of days as well, and we were never disappointed. And the vodka-blueberry- lemonade drinks were so good that we visited the distillery to get those every single day. It's probably my all-time favorite drink. And the atmosphere there truly can't be beat!”

“First time on Daufuskie and we had a good time. Fun little crab restaurant, basic menu, drinks and live music. The only downside is you have to pay $10 to go onto the island. Also food definitely took awhile, we went on a busy Friday. Felt very hot, sticky and crowded. Drinks were good and we met some fun vacationers. Definitely a dive, I liked it”

“back again two years later, and every element held up to what we remembered and enjoyed about our first experience. server Tyrone was such a welcoming and charming presence at every turn—thank you so much for taking such good care of us! we enjoyed working around the menu differently this time, ordering the wedge salad, along with the chicken and the tuna for entrees. excellent cocktail as well as wine pairings for the main courses. the tuna was a bit salty for my taste (must’ve bee th mushrooms that soaked it all up??) and the chicken a bit dry, but al’s, the courses were complete and well presented, plated, and enjoyed. nice to finish with the chocolate panda cotta and Dow 20 year Port (wow!). thank you to Rupert for coming to the table numerous times and making sure we remained happy, content, and smiling. excellent establishment, service, hospitality, and experience. we will be back every time we come to HHI.”

Phillip was our server, he was very thorough and attentive. I was so hungry and excited when Phillip brought our food I forgot to take pictures. Take my word, the food is great!”

“Horrible manager on 10/13/2022! He ruined my daughter's 5 year anniversary dinner. They were in from out of state to attend a golf tournament and celebrate their anniversary. When it came time for payment the manager came over and told them they don't accept Discover and was really rude and belittled them for not having any other type of payment with them. There are no signs posted that they don't take Discover. The manager said what do you want us to do, sit everyone down beforehand and tell them we don't take Discover. A sign should have been posted. Every other establishment they visited in Hilton Head took Discover. The manager could have been nice about it while they secured another form of payment instead of belittling them in front of everyone. Their waiter was amazing though. Seems they need to promote the waiter as the new manager.”

“Food was innovative & overall a 5. The fried chicken kare kare was a favorite. Tip: Don't eat outside until they add fans or something to discourage the unbelievably aggressive flies! My wife & I spent the entire brunch trying in vain to keep them off our food & drinks .”

My A5 Wagyu ribeye was simply divine, cooked to perfection with a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness that only Wagyu can deliver. It was a symphony of rich flavors, each bite more indulgent than the last. My wife’s Ravioli di Vitello al Tartufo Nero was outstanding. A harmonious blend of House made veal ravioli topped & black truffle sauce. Both dishes epitomized the fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. One of the true standouts of the night was the Raviolo al’Uovo con confit d’Anatra. This dish was a revelation! An unexpected, yet beautifully balanced combination of flavors that demonstrated both creativity and precision. The delicate pasta, rich duck confit, and perfectly runny egg yolk created a dish that was not only visually stunning but an absolute pleasure to eat. Another unexpected delight was the Insalata d’Anatra con Albicocca e Burrata. A light and refreshing salad featuring succulent duck, sweet apricots, and creamy burrata. It was the perfect prelude to the main courses, showcasing a masterful understanding of balance and texture. Venturing into new territory, I tried the Polpo alla Griglia, my first experience with octopus. Grilled to perfection, the octopus had a surprisingly tender, almost steak-like quality that was enhanced by a smoky char. It was a revelation for me both unfamiliar and yet incredibly satisfying. For starters, we couldn’t resist the Peach and Plum Salad with Scallops. The sweet, ripe fruit paired beautifully with the perfectly seared scallops, highlighting the restaurant's commitment to sourcing only the finest seasonal ingredients. Every bite was vibrant, fresh, and utterly delicious. As if that weren’t enough, the desert menu demanded our attention. The Tiramisu was nothing short of perfection!espresso and rum-soaked ladyfingers layered with a light mascarpone mousse and topped with a dusting of cocoa and caramel drizzle. Hands down, the best Tiramisu I’ve ever tasted. The Sformata di Cioccolata con Gelato Vanilla Rich, molten-centered chocolate cake served with creamy vanilla gelato was a chocolate lover’s dream. The baked peach stuffed with oats and pine nuts was another winner. It was refreshing, light, and oh so exciting to my tongue. It had a similar presentation to a small coffee cake, but packed a flavorful punch of peach cobbler. Finally, the Affogato, a dessert that was new to me but instantly became a favorite. Vanilla gelato drenched in rich espresso, chocolate sauce, Kahlua, and whipped cream. It was an indulgent, yet perfectly balanced way to finish the evening. Michael Anthony’s isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience. From the perfectly executed dishes to Eleanor’s exceptional service, every detail is designed to make you feel pampered. “9/17/25 was our 2nd trip to Benny's and it did not disappoint either time. Our first trip was last fall when you had just opened & the rooftop was not completed yet. Me, my sister & my niece were delighted with our choices...grouper, seafood cannelloni , Brazilian fish stew...WOW!! But what we were most impressed with was our waiter, Ladrae' Foster, a young 20 year old man. He was lots of fun and very knowledgeable about the menu. We asked LOTS of questions about entrees and he always had the most detailed answer. Excellent service, too! We'll definitely be back!”

“Outstanding! We stopped today for lunch while shopping and were greeted by a lovely lady at the front station. We were immediately seated and served the best meal that we have had since arriving on the island. I ordered the meatball appetizer and lunch portion of rigatoni with vodka sauce and the hubs ordered the calamari appetizer and ravioli with bolognese sauce. The portions were huge, the ingredients were fresh, and everything was absolutely delicious! Prices are reasonable, atmosphere was very pleasant...will absolutely return each time we visit HHI.”

“On this year's winter beach vacation, we decided to skip the fancy reservations in Savannah to drive up the street to take it easy at this recommended spot. We were not disappointed and so happy we took a leap of faith.

Service was good, attentive and friendly. Food was very delicious from each other extra vegetable sides we ordered to start, the simple but perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken breast, to the blackened prime rib with lobster chilli burri butter. Stand out vegetable for both of us was the boiled peanut succotash.

It was so good we came back the last night for takeout. We highly recommended for a great dinner with great local ingredients, executed at a high level without a high level of pretension.”

Our awesome waitress, Linda (she is also the owner) presented us with the best specials and of course I chose the best, shweinhaxen and Bill had their jagerdhnitzel! Let’s talk about bringing back some great memories of our time in Wuerzburg! 💙 We highly recommend this restaurant for the greatest German cuisine.”
