“Ordered a 16 oz matcha, was given a 12 oz. I asked about it and they read back my order which was for a 12 oz. I felt like an “oops I do remember you ordering a 16 oz” would have smoothed things over from a customer service standpoint. I know mistakes happen but my friend confirmed that I did say 16 oz. Not a huge deal since it was about a 6/10 on taste, however, my son’s 8 oz of steamed milk cost nearly $5 because it’s rung up as a hot chocolate. A little frustrating to pay for chocolate we didn’t get. Most other coffee shops have a cheaper price for steamed milk and we’ve been to almost all of them.“

We waited 20 minutes to place our order and an additional 20 to get our iced coffee. We didn't even order food. Waffle House would have been better than here.“

Places well put together with a relaxing patio. I had the seasonal fall soup, which was I think squash with pumpkin seeds and it was so good. I got the big one. And I had the buffalo chicken salad. I wasn’t sure what to expect as these are normally some kind of impossible nugget or something like that but to my delight, it was a homemade kind of shredded perhaps chickpea dish. “I came in August 8th in need of a pick me up, both mentally physically. I left sufficiently caffeinated and with a smile on my face. All thanks to the baristas; A young woman with a nose ring and the best laugh I've ever heard and a young man wi/h braids who can carry on a sensible conversation with anyone about nearly anything! “We were in town celebrating my 50th birthday and were feeling a bit thirsty and stumbled into this place. As we were getting the low down from Ashley, we realized....wait! This is little buzz in a drink! Boom! The day suddenly was AMAZING! Ashley was super awesome explaining everything including dosing amounts and drink flavors. Day one we settle in with some cold strawberry lemonades and absolutely had ourselves a dose! What an amazing afternoon we ended up having! Sat by the river and enjoyed every second 😆🙃

“I have been coming to Chattanooga every year for 15 years since my grandma lives here and we recently discovered Chattz last November on our trip and we now make it a must have every morning of our trip! We had the Eleanor Raspberry which was delish and got my toddler a slushy lemonade with strawberry 🍓 and it was so yum also, he drank it until the last drop! “Back in my day, I remember when I was a student and I used to frequent this place. I have fond memories here getting a latte and working on my assignments and lectures.

Recently I came back after a couple years and I got an Iced Lavender Latte with soy milk. It was pretty good, though I feel like it was a little more milkier than I'd prefer. It didn't blend together with the espresso as well as I'd hope. I wish the espresso shined through more. Other than that, I still enjoyed my latte. I also ordered a S'mores scone I believe. I forget the exact name but I knew it had chocolate in it, and I really liked that.

All in all, this place was good and service was timely. We ordered at the counter inside so I can't say about the ordering process and timing for the drive through. To me it didn't taste as good as my college days, and maybe it's the nostalgia and romanticizing that part of my life back then lol, but I'd still recommend this place.“

“My Wife and I Just had Twins 2 days ago and I was sent on a coffee run. Me not being the coffee expert I ordered the wrong thing and realized it at the window. I immediately asked the young lady working in the window if I could add on an extra drink because I ordered the wrong thing, she told me she would make the drink that I needed no problem and when I receive my order, she gave me the other drink anyway. My wife and I stopped by on our way home to Norris, TN and tried the Irish Jig latte—an incredible mix of cinnamon, maple, nutmeg, Irish cream, and more. It was smooth, flavorful, and just the right balance of spice and sweetness. Easily one of the best seasonal drinks I’ve ever had! “This is a locally owned drive-thru only coffee shop. You have to be very careful when driving in because it is counterintuitive and you can easily end up going the wrong way. You do not order at the speaker but pull to the window to order. I got a hazelnut bliss and it was amazing. The service was friendly with good eye contact, knowledgeable about the products and articulate. However the interaction felt very rushed even though there was no one in line. This would have been five stars if the person had been more conversational and the signage for navigating the drive-thru had been clear. But really like the coffee and will certainly be back.“

“A really nice breakfast spot that opens helpfully early on a weekday. The breakfast plate was great - a decent helping of fresh fruit, a biscuit some good eggs and bacon. The service was also strong and efficient. The pumpkin spice latte was nice, but my preference is for it to be served hotter than was standard here.

Decor is nice and plenty of space for people to spread and enjoy the food and drink.“

“Done with speedway after 25 faithfull years. I always looked the other way on the fuel prices being a few cents higher for the convenience and reward system but now that they have made it so that you cannot refill a gas card after 7:00 p.m. and you cannot use a gas card to pay at the pump there's absolutely no reason to continue paying extra prices on gas and merchandise. I knew when they were purchased by 7-Eleven that it would go downhill fast and it has I buy $500 gas cards per week to fuel up at pump multiple vehicles and work nights I can no longer refill my cards and my family cannot use the card to pay at the pump avoiding risking being skimmed with a credit card at the pump. they say it's because of fraud on gift cards but if an employee is not behind the fraud then how is their fraud how is refilling a gift card before 7:00 any less fraudulent then after 7:00 how is me coming in to pay with my kid card any more of a chance of being fraudulent than not an employee cannot tell if it was fraudulently filled inside anymore than they can outside goodbye Speedway“

“Favorite coffee shop! Our run group meets here after our Friday morning run every week. Environment is awesome and staff ROCKS! We stop in every Sunday on our way to church. And it's my go-to spot when I need a work-away-from-the-office spot. Huge fan. 10 out of 10“

“We spent quite a lot of time here in the mornings and/or early afternoon while our children did some homework - before embarking on the day’s activities. The staff, all of them, and especially Lindsay, were super welcoming and patient! They took time to listen to our kids (who wanted to order themselves and were always asking for knives/spoons/etc for their food), were super kind, and FAST! No matter how busy the place got, and no matter how busy the drive through was, they still managed to multitask spectacularly and give us their attention.

The place is clean, tidy, and the bathrooms are kept up to very clean standards. There’s plenty of seating areas of various kinds (couches, tables, outdoor seating) and everything is kept clean.

Quite notably, when you walk in, the staff say “Welcome in!” That always put a smile on our faces and made us feel extra welcome.

Of course, the coffee was always made to the highest standard and all modification requests were followed! We will miss our regular coffee spot while we’re away and hope to come back soon as it has the coffee we love and the feel of a local cozy coffee shop!“

“Good Morning! Normally I just go through the drive through but today I decided to go inside to pickup my mobile order and I am so glad I did. Everyone should go inside every once in a while to see what is actually happening to make everything come out of that window. There were 7 employees that I could see, constantly moving and creating. They all worked like a well oiled machine and I never once saw one of them standing still while I waited for my order. During these times where places such as this are typically short staffed and exhausted I feel like this situation should be absolutely commended because they not only were they actively working, they were friendly and accurate and communicative with the customers and each other. I truly hope this reaches someone who can appreciate their amazing efforts and thank them for being there as well as praise them. Thanks for a great morning experience!“

“I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I get the appeal of Starbucks as a café and as a place to hang out with friends and study for classes. I really like this one in particular for that purpose because it has plenty of space inside for customers to sit down and relax over coffee or one of their other offerings. This Starbucks location also offers a wide variety of breakfast options and pastries, though they're often in limited supply. Either way, if you're a student, you can come and visit and even use your meal plan to pay for your coffee! Definitely worth a try.“

“Had a really good experience at Maple Street Biscuit Company. The food was honestly the highlight everything came out fresh, flavorful, and exactly how you want comfort food to hit. Biscuits were soft and buttery, and the portions were solid. Kenneth helped us out and was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth without being over the top. “I frequent a good number of coffee shops in the Chattanooga area, and there are a few reasons why Mean Mug continues to be at the top of my rotation:
1. They tend to actually have really good beans. Their espresso blend has a very good balance of fruit with dark roast. They sell beans at a very affordable price, which is generally several dollars less than what most other roasters sell their coffee beans for.
2. The ambiance tends to be friendly, and if you need to focus in on your work, there's usually a nook I can get into to get some work done. It has good communal and social areas.
3. The staff tends to be friendly, and I always appreciate the fact that there's more than one roast on tap.

As someone who values a dark roast, it's a little frustrating that almost all the coffee shops in Chattanooga don't have anything past medium roast. Mean mug has a few selections that scratch that itch.“
