“We really loved Southern Grist when we first found it. Great craft beers and a great food menu, but as of late, the food menu disappoints. Anyone can do burgers and beers. Bring back the chicken sandwich, bao buns and vinegar potatoes. Your menu made you unique now you’re just like everyone else.“

“What a beautiful hidden gem! My husband and I have been here a couple of times and our last time we went was so wonderful. It’s a relaxed vibe that is also very well put together so you can come dressed up or in relaxed clothing and you’ll fit right in either way. We both got sake flights and oh my goodness- each flavor was phenomenal! My favorites were the Cloud Palace and the Gunma(I apologize if I spelled that wrong). Not only were the drinks delicious, the service was top notch- Noah was very knowledgeable and friendly to chat with! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to relax after work or have a quite date night.“

“I have been coming to Plane Jane for over 3 years. The food is great, the vibes are great and the drinks are amazing. Shout out to Hannah (the Bartender) and Zay (the Cook). Also every Wednesday at 7pm, there is trivia with Dj Dah Wu.

The signature menu they have changes with each season, which I like a lot. The venue space may be small, but it is a beauitful spot to go to, whether its for pregaming, or to just come in a chill.

“They took our group of almost 20 at the last minute when I called after another reservation fell through. We were celebrating our late son’s 21st birthday and it was important for us to celebrate just as he would have. Velvet Room went above and beyond for us. Put us in a private room, the food was great, drinks and hookah were great and the server was amazing. She was patient and didn’t miss a beat. The owner was also incredible for allowing us to come in with basically no notice.“

“So my hubs booked us for dinner in the tiny restaurant on our 1,111-day anniversary (yes super sweet), and it was an experience. As soon as you are brought in, the vibe is personal, intimate, and intentional. We sat at the counter directly facing the kitchen, so we could watch the chefs at work - no hiding sloppiness or cutting corners or even the abrasiveness that many restaurants have. Everything was meticulously done, with care and creativity. We had: oyster, shrimp toast, tomato rice, garlic noodles, whole fish, and the ginger tofu ice cream. Each dish was one of the most unique preparations of the ingredient I've ever had (actually it inspired me for the week after to be more creative with my cooking). They literally stand over the fish as it's being cooked on the Japanese charcoal grill fanning it, and use tweezers to strategically place the tiny pepper slices on the shrimp toast. Even the ice cream dessert had multiple flavors and textures going on. The descriptions on the menu do not do justice to all the complexity contained in the dishes.

The drink menu on the restaurant side of the house is different from the bar (even though you can order from the cocktail bar too) - and clearly selected to complement the food. We each had a cocktail and one glass of wine between us.

This is definitely one of the best tiny-upscale-dining experiences in Nashville (akin to Catbird Seat, Bastion, Kase, etc).“

“We were visiting from out of state and decided to try a smaller spot instead of Bourbon st. Our first choice of a piano bar looked a little sketch so we found Wilburn. We walked past a group chillin' on the outdoor patio and entered the cool brick and Christmas tinsel. The seating includes old diner looking benches and round tabletops and some tables decked in red and white checked tablecloths. There is another setting area through a door in the back that is like a tiny ally where some friendy people greeted me. Close to 10 the band showed up and set up an organ. It felt like Cheers and many people seemed to know them and other patrons. They started playing around 10 (Tuesday night late July) some fun jazz. We had a good time but you may want to go with the $7 beer and a shot as the mixed drinks were not stellar that night. Bartender was cool but not the best. I do recommend a visit if you are in the area.“

It's one of those Nashville places you know that when you walk in it'll feel like home...

“I went on a recent free admission night and the music was great! the people were nice and the service was friendly. The venue was super cool, but when they say underground they mean literally, physically. As someone with a disability that acts up with stairs it sucked a bit, but definitely worth going back.“

“Several weeks back we stopped into Roadside to taste their wings. I would be hosting a large event and was told their wings were the best in our area. Absolutely the best! We taste tested several other places and by far Roadside had the best! Wilton, the GM met with us and took us through the whole process of why they have the best wings. Wilton coordinated and executed everything that we discussed for the event perfectly!!Shout out to the cook, Fred! If you haven’t tried their wings before, you need to get down there and have some! You will not be disappointed.

“I absolutely love this place. It's very chill with pool tables and a live band. The employees are amazing! And the bar tenders are amazing! I've never waited more than 2min. for a drink even if they're packed. I go here at least once a week. And I'll definitely be back. They just had volleyball tournaments. And let me tell you these women are dedicated. They were out in the rain giving it their all! I hope y'all come on down, it'll be worth your while to check it out. They got something for everyone!!“
