“Service was personal, everyone was friendly, food was limited as they have not opened yet, but the food was over the top fantastic. They are still in the process of moving in and decorating and I’m looking forward to eating there again when they have their full menu..“
“This is a home kitchen- take out only eatery. I think it’s a vegetarian kitchen- so probably, no non veg menu is available. You should call them in advance and order ahead. I ordered a plate of litti- chokha, a typical bihari delicacy. The green chutney that they served with the food was terrific. The food was overall decent, and the portion size was decent for one person.“

“This is definitely a no-frills, all flavors Indian restaurant, with some of the best ethnic food I've had in a while. The restaurant is situated inside a Mediterranean grocery store, which itself needs a lot of TLC and gives the restaurant a hole-in-the-wall status, but don't let that intimidate you. They offer complimentary hot chai and there's a TV that played Indian music videos an quite a few tables.I ordered garlic naan and Chicken Tikka Masala, and waited about 15-20 minutes for the order, which was worth the wait. Everything came out fresh and hot. The young woman who took my order was very polite and spoke great English! The garlic naan actually has pieces of garlic and cilantro on it (despite most Indian restaurants I've tried who just use garlic oil), largely portioned, and grilled perfectly. The masala was seasoned perfectly and had a sweetness to it, with big chunks of tender chicken that practically melted in my mouth from one bite. The basmati was mixed with white and gold basmati, which was a nice touch. If you're ever on this side of Memphis and craving Indian food, I cannot recommend this place enough! I ate it up so fast I forgot to get pics!Vegetarian options: The Indian culture has a large vegetarian population, so many of the authentic dishes they serve here are or can be substituted for vegetarian. Plus they have a vegetarian section on their menu.“
“Was driving thru Memphis and wanted something different. Looks sketchy on the outside. And on the inside. It's a convenience store. *However,* the food was great! And the owners seem like hard-working people just trying to make a living. I'm on a pescatarian diet (fish + veggies), so I didn't try some of their tasty-looking meat options. (Lamb chops?!) Thankfully, they had baked fish, which sounded perfect. The cashier said it would take 20' to cook, and I was willing to wait. I got one of each flavor. I took my food to the car and ate there. You could have told me it was from any restaurant, and I would've believed you. The fish was flavorful and very tender. Very reasonable prices, too. Recommended. Would return. Might try calling in ahead or ordering in advance online.A gem, hidden in plain sight!“
“This place has become my absolute favorite restaurant in Memphis. I eat here at least once a week. I have never had a meal disappoint me. The staff are so kind and delightful. THE FOOD IS UNPARALLELED. You will love this place. You will be back after your first experience. Overall 10/10 !“
“This place is delicious! The buffet has plentiful amounts of vegetarian as well as meat available items. The mango lassi is so good. It helps beat the Memphis heat. Don't think of just midtown for Indian food.Vegetarian options: So much vegetarian dishes to choose from. I had a plentiful selection of vegetarian items that ranged from non-spicy to spicy.Kid-friendliness: The owner was so sweet to a 5 year old who was curious about Indian food. He helped her pick non-spicy items and he got her mango lassi.“
“We got there as soon as they opened on a Saturday night, we were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was excellent. I originally ordered the ginger lamb and the owner let me know that it was kind of spicy. So I asked him what lamb dish he would recommend that wasn't too spicy. He suggested the lamb curry. It was absolutely delicious. The lamb was very tender and the sauce was perfect. My companion had the chicken Tiki kabob, the chicken was also very tender and the sauce was delicious. The vegetable samosas were flaky and delicious as well. We loved the garlic naan bread and papadam that was served with the meal, as well as the variety of sauces included with our entree. You get a lot of food for your money and all of it was very tasty. This is a 45 minute drive for me but I will definitely be back soon.“
“Well, well, well… look what we have here. On last night’s tedious and fervent escapade to find a spot to tuck-in, I stumbled upon Bombay House. Truth be told, I’ve had Indian food before and was wildly unimpressed. It was really, quite honestly, very bland…but Bombay House took my severed heart and rebuilt it piece by piece with every delectable bite. Each spoonful was like a stroke of pen on paper, writing a profound and riveting tale of flavor and palate with an allegory of change. It was almost… nostalgic. Like reading the famous and beloved A Christmas Carol during the first snow of winter. Ebenezer Scrooge was a hardened, blithering miser who was visited by his late business partner, Jacob Marley, who aimlessly wanders the Earth, bound by chains forged from a lifetime of greed. In the same night, he is visited by three spirits who offer him resolution and new perspective towards his greed and selfishness, in doing so he becomes a kinder and gentler man, released from bearing the same fate Marley did. I am Scrooge and Bombay House are the three spirits that changed my perspective forever. I feel like I’ve become more open-minded, more kind, more caring, after having the divinely (and deliciously) encompassed sustenance Bombay House provided me.I would like to add that I had it delivered and was still absolutely blown away. I can only imagine how it is dine-in.Thank you, Bombay House, sincerely.“
“My boyfriend and I have eaten here a lot and are NEVER disappointed. All of the food is made to order and there's something on the menu for everyone. Everything is really clean. Sam is great and always friendly. Also make sure to pick up a quick sweet treat from the front of the store! His wife makes them and they're so good. Do not pass up this place on Main Street. You won't find the food quality and portions anywhere else downtown for better prices than at Sam's.“
“Everything is very good.Vegetarian options: He has many vegetarian dishes but these two dishes are very good.Paneer masalaVegetables kormaParking: Free large parking lot in a front of the restaurant. Sometimes the street parking space is empty so park car on the street.Wheelchair accessibility: If the main area of the business can be reached without going up or down stairs and there is enough space for a person in a wheelchair.“
“I tried to find better chicken curry at the other Indian restaurants because of the bad experience I had due to what I believe was a serious miscommunication between the restaurant, Ubereats and me but as far as I'm concerned this place has the best chicken curry in Memphis. Their garlic naan is delicious too. I have yet to try their other dishes because I'm so in love with the curry but I'm sure they are just as good as the curry.“
“We love this restaurant! Our dinner restaurant of many years. When in Memphis we always plan for at least a dinner here. The ambience is pleasant - it's clean, doesn't appear dated. You get a whiff of the wonderful spices they use as you approach the building. Our wait for a table has never been more than a few seconds. The wait staff is clean and neat. Always ready to answer questions about the extensive menu. Consistently excellent food. Everything we've had has been excellent. I don't think I could pick out a favorite. I usually have a lamb or seafood with medium spice. The husband often has something vegetarian or chicken with mild spice. We recommend the samosas for an appetizer which comes with 2 sauces. He prefers onion kulcha as his bread, I like the poori. For dessert the mango ice cream can't be beat - so creamy. The rice pudding is also excellent. Perfect ending to a spicy dinner. The service is top notch, attentive but not overwhelming. Drinks are refilled as needed. Portions are adequate, I usually need a "to go" box. We highly recommend if you're in Memphis and want a relaxing dining experience of good food.“
